In Working It, New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan delivered a sexy and addictive contemporary romance about Emmy Clarke, a sweet southern girl out of her depth in New York City’s cutthroat fashion industry, and Ben Shaw, the hot male model who introduced her to a world of pleasure. But their story is far from complete…
Emmy Clarke is no quitter. Toughened by her experience working for fashion heavyweight Fiona Stone, Emmy has come a long way from her country girl roots, embracing her fast-paced and unpredictable life in New York City.
Though that life comes with more than a few complications.
First there’s the mystery of Fiona’s pregnancy, which may or may not involve Emmy’s boyfriend, superstar male model Ben Shaw. Emmy has always known that Ben comes with more baggage than she can handle—and not the Louis Vuitton kind. Yet Ben is the only man who has ever loved Emmy for who she is, and she wants nothing more than to do the same for him, even if it means forgiving his past and overlooking their wildly different lifestyles.
But when a shocking secret from Ben’s past comes to light, unraveling all of their progress, Emmy must decide if their relationship is worth the fight, or if it’s time to ignore her passion for him and let go.
4 1/2 smoking hot hero stars !!
This is the conclusion to Ben and Emmy’s story .
Book 1 left us with quite a few questions, but Kendall did a fantastic job of clearing everything up. At the end of this book you really do feel that Ben and Emmy’s story is complete and all your questions, my questions or quieries are answered. With that happy reader face on - once the last page has been turned.
In this book we see Ben’s efforts to show Emmy his love – and to work on the relationship. We see the heart ache and time and patience it took for both of them to get through the rollercoaster ride with their love.
The past comes back to taunt the relationship and we see the strengths it takes them to both overcome this. I really like how Kendall puts forth the characters emotions, strengths and weakness’s , it shows us the reader that they are real people. In a not so picture perfect love.
Kendall Ryan writes a fast paced read, no beating around the bush, nothing is rushed or lacks. We are given steam, romance, and passion and of course the answers to book one as well within this storyline. The plot is well delivered, the characters are shown with depth and definition , and the pace of the story is just right.
For those who like steamy, sexy hot smoking love scenes, you will enjoy Kendall’s stories. They will leave you parched and content. ** Ha-ha** or maybe flipping wildy to read more??
The ending will leave you happy and content, as a romance reader I like to read the happily ever after even if it may be predictable.
Emmy’s character at times I found annoying, whiny and slightly immature, she needed to grow some man balls and speak up so to speak rather than sit back and just dwell. I do like my females with a little more back bone, but did enjoy her character none the less. We see her grow within the pages and eventually speaking up .. Which was great to see.
Ben I would give 5 stars for effort, Kendall did a great job of putting forth his love and admiration for Emmy... He was a likeable character and smoking hot! He certainly had me sheepishly grinning many a time... (Blushes)
We see other characters within this story which was nice to see, the snide comments and bickering between some of them was quiet amusing and lighten up moments within the storyline.
Overall, I really enjoyed Craving Him. I loved the steamy romance, the love and affection Ben has for Emmy and the crazy drama between Fiona, Ben and Emmy. Overall, Craving Him was less intense read than Working It. It met my happy quota of all that I enjoy – no cliff-hanger and yes HEA – just have to read to find out what.
Big thank you to Simon & Schuster Australia for supplying this book for my honest review.
