Assassin
Gina Carano doesn't have time for love. In fact, the last thing she wants is a
mate. But Gina can't stop thinking about Malek, the handsome AKM enforcer she
met in Chicago. And now she's beginning to fear Malek's memory is the reason
for her crippling panic attacks, which have assaulted her relentlessly since
she left him.
Malek
has never dealt with the centuries-old death of his first mate, but now that
he's formed a new mating link to Gina, he has no choice. Stuck between the
agony of mourning and the despair of being without Gina, his mind fractures as
he attempts to reconcile the two halves of himself.
When
Gina botches a hit on two vicious vampires in Miami, she reluctantly flees back
to Chicago, where Malek must choose between the past and the future before he
loses Gina forever.

Interview with Micah Black
Hi.
My name is Micah Black, and I'm taking over Page Flipperz today.
For
those who don't know me, I'm the main character from Donya Lynne's
award-winning All the King's Men Series. The fifth book in the series, Return
of the Assassin, just came out at the end of October, and it told the story of
my good friend, Malek.
Malek
and I have known each other from when we were kids about a thousand years ago.
We trained together in the King's Guard, and were more like brothers than
friends. We even look alike, except I'm taller…and sexier. Ha ha! Malek's not
here, so I can say whatever I want, right? Except I bet Malek's mate, Gina,
would say he's sexier than I am. But oh well. She's not here, either, so I'm
saying I'm sexier, and that's that.
I'm
also the funny one. Have you guessed that already? Tall, dark, sexy…and funny.
I'm like the perfect guy. Of course, if my mate Samantha were here, she'd be
slapping my arm and telling me to stop playing and get serious.
Okay,
so seriously, I am one hot piece of man, but so are the rest of my friends.
Really, there's something for every lady's desires here. I'm more-or-less the
leader, and I'm kind of like the I-don't-give-a-shit one. I pretty much do and
say what I feel in the moment. Leap then look. The way I see it, I can always
apologize later.
Trace
is the strong, silent type. He doesn't say much, but what he says is usually
pretty epic. He's also my best friend, and my submissive. Not that he's been my
submissive for long. He hasn't. In fact, we're still in the
working-out-the-limits phase of our relationship. Samantha is part of our
arrangement, so we have a delicate balance to find.
Severin
and Arion are the uber-popular male/male couple in the house right now,
although I understand that a new male/male couple is about to make an entrance
to give Sev and Ari a run for their money. But for now, Sev and Ari are it.
Everyone loves 'em. They're our artistic couple. Sev paints and Ari plays
music. But don't let that fool you. They're both bad ass in a fight.
Io
used to be a major playboy and a strident homophobe. That male could grate the
nerves off an elephant. But then he met Princess Miriam, almost died, and
changed his wayward ways. Of all my buddies, Io is the one I least expected to
take a mate. Oh, and he's going to be a daddy soon. Lucky bastard.
And
then we come back to Malek. As I said earlier, Malek and I used to be best
friends back in the day. But then we both lost our mates, and I became a major
dick while Malek withdrew into himself. We lost our way with one another, and
our friendship grew strained. But now that I've mated Sam and Malek has mated
Gina…and we've both come back to our senses…maybe we can get back to the
friends we once were. I'd like that.
Turning
toward the future, I know Donya has some big plans for me in the series.
Trace's book is next up, and I'll finally get to be the Dom I was meant to be
with him. But there's a lot of uncertainty now. Trace's brother, Brak, is back,
as is his father, Maddox. And since I can't see past the block in Trace's mind,
I have no idea just what has happened with those two or what it means for my
future with Trace. Add to the mix that bitch, Cordray, who got Trace thrown in
prison and is about as pleasant as an electrical current, or maybe salt in a
foot-long paper cut, and who knows what will happen. I really do not like her, and neither does Trace,
but she seems to be up King Bain's ass, and she is responsible for overseeing Trace's community service, so we'll
have to figure out a way to tolerate her. For now.
And
I haven't even begun to go off about the new enemies we have to face in
addition to Bishop and Apostle. Having two Dacians and a Thracian hanging
around sucks, especially since they have the Reaper's Blade, which is deadly to
other vampires. They're after the throne, which is something we can't let them
have. Under no circumstances can they be allowed to usurp King Bain, because
that would mean the rest of us are in deep shit.
So,
we've got our hands full in All the King's Men, and it's just going to get
worse before it gets better. I'd bet my life on it since we're in the middle of
a pulling, which is when large
numbers of vampires begin taking mates and procreating. In my lifetime, I've
seen only a couple of pull phases, but they historically occur before another
war breaks out between the vampires and drecks, or at times of strife. I fear
for our future, but I know we'll pull through. We have to. If we don't, the
human race will be at risk, and while it's not our duty to protect the humans,
we are compelled to. We live in balance with one another, and if the humans
become threatened or endangered, so will we.
Thank
you for allowing me to overtake your blog today. I can be pretty pushy, but
that's only because I'm such a sexy guy and we sexy guys always get our way. Ha
ha! Just kidding. Although…I do tend
to get my way a lot. Stay tuned for more to come from Donya Lynne's All the
King's Men Series. Things are starting to heat up.
