Personally as a reader - I think that this is the Best of Kailin Gow's adult series to date.

The heat has been turned up and found it to be very smooth flowing and delightful in many a scenes** waggles eyebrows**

The cover is sexy - appealing and certainly delicious.

In The Innocent we see a stronger side to Serena. A smokin hot sexy side to Sebastian and of
course the arse that Price has always been, we see that he considers Serena a possession rather than a person. One form of abuse that stands out like a neon light.

All relationships are put forth for
the reader to see - the dangerous yet kinky side to Price and Serena's past and present. Also Sebastian’s side I very much enjoyed – I have to say this surprised me, but loved it none the less.

Kailin has put forth in this story one of abuse - and maybe even paybacks a bitch. Abuse is not right no matter which scene you may enjoy. Whether Vanilla or kinky - there must always be a safe haven- safe word.

I found that Price never offered this to Serena - his standoffish nature didn’t appeal to me and even the exhibitionist that he was, I found that Serina was just a pawn in his life. One, whom he used, abused and manipulated for his benefit. He was certainly not a DOM I’d like to be submissive to. Or a Dom doing the right thing towards his submissive.

We may all like our many flavours when it comes to sex, but one thing I did notice is that Price rules the roost and really as a Dom - I didn’t find him to be acceptable and caring enough.

Pleasure and Pain comes in many forms for all people, but it must always be consensual. This is demonstrated within one aspect of this story between two willing participants however we also see that another is not always.

So as a reader if you are not into a BDSM read - detailed descriptions, (bondage) – use of toys, and other implements including - smokin kinky scenes, then this read is not for you.

Those who enjoy a little kink or two you will be happily surprised.

Kailin has touched BDSM throughout this story very mildly really but has increased the par with this instalment. I enjoyed seeing another Side of Sebastian and really like him as a caring character with needs like everyone. However he shows his differently in The Innocent and certainly - With love.

I read this instalment in one sitting - it kept me intrigued, stimulated and certainly dazed in many a scenes. I have to say this author delivers a sexy, kinky story with a storyline behind it - that shows through the pages.

It is a short read but will certainly have you awaiting
book three

4.5 stars

Depending upon what you have read - some may call this book haunting and dark - they may cringe at many factors within the pages. But I found this to be amoung many things. Captivating and emotionally engaging.

It was certainly dark in its own ways. Yet BEAUTIFUL. The emotional depth within the pages, deep and at times heart wrenching , but certainly a world of discovery for Tess - Emotionally conflicting - and even some romance.

The world of slavery is touched within this storyline , this alone gave me goosebumps, the way in which the girls are treated it is shocking but happens within our world.

I loved the fact that the captive - Tess was strong willed and never gave up. She had a fire within - That Q notices the day she walks in his door . I felt for her on many occassions - sighed- and even whispered for her .... .. She had her own resilance - her own fears. -she had to give in to - which included intense emotions she never thought possible in her lifetime.

She was a fighter ...

We have Q - he is what some would just fxxxn pure hotness . He saves the women - but then meets one that tests his boundaries. He has a dark side that he would rather not act upon - but upon meeting Tess both there lives change. She brings out
the devil inside of him and he brings out the side Tess has been wanting to set free. Between the both of them they experience more then they could ever have thought.

Pleasure from pain - dominance and submission... Obdeiance.

Q and Tess have chemistry - orgasmic - mind blowing , combustable ..... BE WARNED - Hot smokin sex scenes so beware ! I enjoyed the connection hey had, wven ith all aspects Ireally enjoyed al aspects of this story.

The storyline is certainly fast paced -intriguing - may make you cringe - and also have your panties bunching at many a scenes ** blushes **

As for the writing elements -- the plot was interesting - captive vs captor -, character development was well done and overall dialogue smooth flowing. It certainly will keep you on the edge of your seat many a times and have you with baited breathe on many a scene.

This story contains BDSM - and as a reader of BDSM I certainly appreciated the levels of consent in place throughout the book. I also liked the way the BDSM was integrated within the story - and how the relationship progressed . We were given alot of insight into the basics of this scene. And I felt the author did a great job putting this forth.

The ending contained depth into Q's past - and the a HEA.

Tears of Tess is an Unput-downable, Mesmerizing -  erotica as  well as a well  written story, both emotional,  dark yet sensual, and well delivered.

**Guest post  - What Inspired the series and how did you create your characters ?

Um, I suppose I was inspired by a few things. I really enjoyed Taken (the movie with Liam Neeson) and I loved darker reads. But I also really enjoyed Fifty Shades and Cross Fire series and wanted something of a blend. So that was how the concept was born.
The characters evolved on their own. Tess grew stronger in the book than I thought she would from the start, and Q, I never really knew Q until the end and then it all made sense. It was awesome getting to know him.
I love creating new worlds, new characters, living an entirely different existence all from my living room. J It really is a great power to be able to conjure a story about something you’re inspired with.

About the Author:

Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex.

She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby (who speaks French-hot!) who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends. She loves to hear from her readers so hit her up at pepperwinters@gmail.com
