Tell us a little about yourself ;)
Hi! I'm Melissa Andrea! You can't see me, but I am waving
excitedly at the computer screen :)) I live in Arizona with my husband and 3
girls. I have 3 dogs, 5 cats (my youngest just had a little of 3) I know, I
know, it's a lot of animals, but I love them all like family!! My favorite place
to write is with my family, although I write better at my desk. I was inspired
to write The Edge of Darkness because I wanted to do something different and I
think with the twist in TED, I accomplished that! My cover was designed by the
fab Sarah Hansen from Okay Creations.
What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The ending! You know you're so close to being done that you just want it to be finished NOW! Hahah
Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
I feel I learn something with each of my characters! With Ryland and Araya - I learned it's okay to let go and just let yourself feel.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
Always believe in yourself! Don't be your own worst enemy! It's very easy to psych yourself out. So step back, read a book, eat some ice cream, watch a movie - do anything to relax your mind & then try again. Don't give yourself limitations, writers know no such thing.
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
Can you share a little of your current work with us?
The Edge of Darkness if a NA contemporary romance and it's about a girl who thinks she is broken and a boy who knows she just needs to be pushed to want to live life again. Not just tolerate it. There is romance, steam, swoon, betrayal and lies. It's got a little bit of everything.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
