A Fallow Heart - Linda Kage - Book review and Guest post.

Ten years ago, an oil tycoon’s daughter and a farmer’s son shared a moment neither would ever forget. When she left town in disgrace, a piece of her stayed locked deep within his soul. And like the ground he tended, his emotions lay fallow for years. Cooper Gerhardt’s deeply buried feelings for Jo Ellen Rawlings grew more fertile over time, just waiting for the day she would return to release his deepest desires.

When she strolls back into Tommy Creek, Texas for her ten-year class reunion, Cooper shows her farmboy-style exactly what she missed by leaving. Starting a short-term affair is simply unavoidable. But when the week is over, can either of them let go of the responsibilities and apprehensions keeping them apart? Or will their fallow hearts learn to flourish together.

Character Profile post.

1) Describe your hero in FOUR words

2) What is the best personality trait of your heroine? Worst personality trait?

WORST - She's a bit too uncertain of herself. She's too afraid to let her inner woman roar.

BEST - Her sweet kind heart is what had Cooper falling in love with her in the fourth grade, so we'll go with that as her best trait!

3) Give us the 140-character TWEET description of your book

For her 10-yr class reunion, a little fun in the Texas sun w/ a hunky farm boy induces JoEllen to give up the big city and move back home.

4) What kind of car does your hero drive?

A lifted four-wheel-drive pick up truck, of course. He IS a country boy after all. ;)

5) Name one thing your heroine would not leave home without.

Umm...her purse?

6) What would you pick for your book's theme song?

"Breathe" by Faith Hill - it had to be something country with a happily every after love theme!
My review for A Fallow Heart

A Fallow Heart  is ideal for all who enjoy a contemporary romance with the setting put forth in Texas, outback country and ranchers. The descriptions are well put forth giving the reader an ideal Texas – country  feel to it. The country folk - the area and of course the hot cowboys :) lol.

The character development is flawless, with characters that are certainly not flawless in there ways. This alone is believable and very true to real life.

It’s well delivered in storyline giving the reader many ooohh arrr moments and of course who could not swoon over Cooper.

I loved his character .

The plot is intriguing with a romance  filled with a sad past, yet a possible future. The book is just the right length and I found that this author covered all aspects of all characters well in this story.

The book is page-turning filled with  love, lies, betrayal and family unity as well. I enjoyed all the characters immensely, they are certainly characters that you easily fall in love with and enjoy throughout the book till you have finished.

There is no kink, erotica or wild sex in this story, but none the less it is certainly a read that will make your tummy do butterflies and your toes curl. Don’t get me wrong there are some hot steamy moments in the hay loft I’m sure that you will enjoy. (( sigh )) grins .....

Overall, Linda Kage will certainly be an author I will be following and reading in the near future.

This book was supplied to me via the author for my true and honest opinion. Which is of my own.
