Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation--or her ultimate damnation.

My thoughts !!!

Wicked Nights is a spin off series Of Gena Showalters Lord of The Underworld series. A great start to a new series.  I really enjoyed it!!

Zacharel is the leader of the army of Misfits aka Army of disgrace given to him by the Deity. The Deity needs Zacharel to lead this team of men, show them they must follow rules and also show them they must show some humanity during the throws of war –himself included. He has been deemed dangerous and ruthless and if he is not careful will lose his wings.  The errors that these men make will affect Zacharel and there punishment will be bestowed upon him. The Deity has given Zacharel a time frame in which to deal with these me or he will find himself losing his wings. These men have been stripped of their humanity, compassion, and any ability to feel.  All tortured souls. They find they only have the justification for havoc, destruction, hate and vengeance.  It is Zacharel’s duty to change all this. He must gain respect from his men - Thane, Bjorn, Xerxes, Koldo, and Axel, and twenty more men are in his to lead to fulfil the deity’s requests. Including leading his army when summoned.

Zacharel discovers Annabelle at an institution for the criminally insane; she has been accused of killing her parents 4 years prior. Murdering them – slaughtering them this has led her to a dark life, being attacked by Demons – knowing that it wasn’t only in her head, she fights to survive.  Demons crawl the buildings, and Zacharel has been sent into destroy them.
Here Zacharel not only discovers that Annabelle is the demons consort but she stirs within him a feeling he never knew existed.  Zacharel takes Annabelle away to discover many a things, passion, love, heartbreak and emotions he never anticipated...  Carnal desires that he has never known. (( geesh )) he certainly is one sexy winged wonder !

A fight to save Annabelle from Forgiveness not only tests his resolve but unearths his cold, heartless and unemotional side.  Zacharel is beautiful, alluring, yet so cold and heartless, also compassionate yet icy. We find out more into why Zacharel gave up his humanity is this story. A great insight for all the readers of the Lord of the Underworld series.

I enjoyed all the secondary characters much so, I’m sure we shall see more of them in books to come. I eagerly await Koldo’s story.  I found that these characters gave the story depth and definition and all an important part in this story.

The romance between Zacharel and Annabelle was slow and gradual, sensual and sweet. I really enjoyed that it wasn’t a wham bam thank you mam romance.  It was like a volcano simmering – gradually building as the story progressed. The sexy moments, where certainly a treat, I wouldn’t say they knocked my socks off –mild compared to Gena’s other series, but none the less, Gena certainly put forth the chemistry between the pair very well. The loving was sweet, and the attraction well put forth.  The banter and humour between the pair was funny and refreshing, Zacharel thinking he was above Annabelle didn’t get him very far! Annabelle was kick arse, strong and determined. I enjoyed the fact that even though she was a tortured she was brave and forthcoming.  The attraction between the pair was certainly magnetic!

Wicked nights has a slow and gradual storyline, giving the reader great insight into the world that Gena has created.  By saying this by all means It WAS NOT BORING, I enjoyed the fact that Gena has given us as much as she could for the first book in this series. She has put forth all descriptions giving us vivid details both emotionally and physically.  I enjoy reading a story that takes you to another place and Gena has certainly taken us to the world in which she has created within these pages. She has built this story for us reader s, with certainly more in store for us.

An unpredictable ending you certainly won’t see coming, I really enjoyed this twist! I’m sure it will keep you frantically flipping through the pages to find out which direction Zacharel chooses.

This book can be read without reading the Lord of the Underworld Series. I found that it brought forth information about Zacharel’s past a great addition and also enough to keep the reader intrigued till the very last page has been turned.  I eagerly look forward to more of this series. Gena has given us a kick arse heroine, sexy head strong men, lots of action and suspense and also some lovin for all the romantics at heart ! A great paranormal romance, that will not only tantalize and titilatate your taste buds but have you eagerly awaiting more!

4 1/2 stars for this story !!
