Brianna by Linda Andrews *Spotlight*

Linda Andrews

Love, lies, and an ancient Egyptian curse. Brianna Grey holds the key to mankind's destruction and someone is willing to kill for it. Having spent most of her life dying, one man's kiss has resurrected her desire to live. For US Treasury Agent, Duncan Stuart, love means death. He works alone, lives alone and plans to die alone until he meets Brianna again. Under the harsh Egyptian sun, Duncan will break all his rules to save her but will it be enough to overcome the secrets that could get them both killed?

“Brianna, can ye hear me?” Panic fed the primal rage bucking through Duncan. He bound the fury. A treasury agent had nerves of tempered steel, control of iron. A white lock rested on her pale cheek. Peppermint-scented breath slipped past pink lips. She was fine. She had fainted, nothing more. Nothing more.
Yet she had not wakened.
“I had thought she would be accustomed to violence, especially after the tales she told of Arizona.” Miss Phillips’s whine sliced through his musings.
A man had been murdered, poisoned in front of a roomful of wealthy, influential witnesses. August would have been the likely suspect—it was his valet, after all. Except, he couldn’t have known his servant would be in the room, let alone would drink from the glass. So who was the intended victim?
He laid Brianna on the plush carpet and knelt beside her. He brushed her bangs out of her eye, sweeping aside the feather headdress.
And who was the poisoner?
He might have spied something if he hadn’t dallied over his evening dress, and what had his delay accomplished? Not a bluidy thing. His hair still stuck up a little in front. As for the noose around his neck, he could feel the ends brushing his jaw.
“Damn it, Brianna, wake up!”
“Señor Stuart?” Esmé pried apart the Van Sargents. Worry pinched her features, increased the pitch of her voice. Two men in ship’s uniform squeezed through behind her, parting the assembled crowd. An elderly man in a somber suit appeared and set a black bag on the table.
Ignoring the newcomers, Duncan leaned close to Esmé’s ear. “Has Brianna eaten anything tonight?”
Shock flashed in her brown eyes. Her gaze flicked to the corpse before meeting his.
“No, señor. The dinner, it has not been served.”
He nodded. Relief flooded him.
“I believe she has fainted.”
“There are smelling salts in our room.”
“Get them.”
“Are you a doctor, sir?” Curry and garlic permeated the air as the elderly man who’d arrived with the ship’s crew creaked to a stop beside Duncan. He leaned over Brianna with his ear near her mouth. “Peppermint,” he whispered, straightened then peeled the glove off her left hand. His index finger settled comfortably against the inside of her wrist. “An admirable heartbeat.”
“I’m nae a doctor.”
“Hmm, yet your prognosis is undoubtedly correct.” The man peered at Duncan over the gold rims of his spectacles. “The ladies do like to lace tightly, don’t they?” His Adam’s apple bobbed in the wattles of his throat. “Smelling salts should set Miss to rights. You’ve sent the companion to fetch them, hmm? ”
“That won’t be necessary.” Sir Reginald stepped forward. “Mrs. Van Sargent, the salts, if you please.”
Duncan grabbed the small glass bottle—he didn’t trust the missionary any more than he did the others. Glass scraped glass as he plucked the stopper free. Ammonia invaded his nose, stripped the moisture from the back of his throat. Definitely smelling salts. He shoved them under Brianna’s nose.
She winced, turned her head and coughed. Her eyes flickered open.
“Duncan. Wh-what happened?”
“You fainted.”
“You are very much mistaken.” She shoved herself into a sitting position, tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and straightened her bodice. “A Grey does not faint.”
“It’s alright, dear.” Mrs. Van Sargent tucked the bottle back in her purse. “I daresay, if Mr. Stuart hadn’t caught you you would have crashed right into the table.”
Movement caught his eye. At the doctor’s nod, the burly crewmen lifted the body. Duncan shifted his weight to block Brianna’s view. Her lips parted; her eyes grew round. He had acted too late. She had seen the corpse.
“That man.” She pointed to the blanket-draped body with her bare hand. “He...”
“He’s dead, dear.”
“Choked to death,” Van Sargent added with relish.
“Such a terrible tragedy,” said Miss Phillips, dabbing her dry eyes.
“Sir Reginald doesn’t think it will prolong our stay aboard the <i>Osiris.”
Duncan’s skin crawled as Mrs. Van Sargent beamed down at them like a goddess spreading her benevolence.
“But he—“ Brianna’s nails dug into Duncan’s arm.
”Choked to death.” He kept his voice firm, his tone final. Brianna had been around death most of her life, was intimately acquainted with most of its faces. He wouldn’t allow her knowledge to get her killed.

Lust and Bound by W Lynn Chantale Book Review

Welcome to the Tour for Lust & Bound by W Lynn Chantale . Today for you I have the cover , blurb, review and a teaser Excerpt at the end.

Lust & Bound

Trisha, a recent divorcee, wants to explore the wilder side of sex and discover a more sensuous part of herself. When long-time client Zach Walters suggests a weekend together, she agrees. He provides her with an unforgettable night of hot, sweaty sex, while unbeknownst to either of them the tryst is being recorded.

No woman has ever excited Zach Wallace like Trisha. He’s willing to indulge his fantasies as well as hers, but he can’t afford to get too close. He has a weakness for damsels in distress and a secret to protect. Only one thing threatens their happiness—a vengeful ex-husband.

My review

Lust and Bound is a read that will send your heart racing and your toes curling... I loved both the lead characters and enjoyed all the suspense that came with this romance. Sexy moments that will certainly have your blood pumping and aslo suspense that will have you cringing.

I love a man who knows what he wants, and W LYnn has no dramas portraying Zacc and his lust and love for his lady love.

A excellent blend of romance, passion, suspense, and intrigue, Lust and Bound is one of those romances where you will be shelving yet another book boyfriend. (( grins ))

All emotions put forth are well scripted to also match a compelling storyline to go with.

About the Author:

W. Lynn Chantale resides in southeastern Michigan. Writing has been a passion for as long as she can remembered. Given an ultimatum of either getting published or giving up writing. W. Lynn chose to get published and has never looked back.
Married to her high school sweetheart and romantic heartthrob, they’ve been together for the last twenty years. She has a mad affinity for milk chocolate, preferably Dove chocolate truffles or the caramel-filled squares (Godiva is acceptable), and plays the bass guitar when the Muse begs for a bit of distraction.
She’s a multi-published author as well as a member of Romance Writers of America as well Greater Detroit Romance Writers of America, Passionate Ink and Kiss of Death groups.

Zach fumbled the plastic card in the metal slot. When the mechanism whirred and clicked, he twisted the knob, but paused. “I have one rule.” His gaze never left her face.
Trisha met his hungry stare, her lips parting. “What’s that?”
“I don’t share.”
A thrill rippled through her body at the possessive note in his deep, rasping voice.
“Me either.”
“You can still walk away.”
Walk away? Was he nuts? She’d waited months for this moment, for freedom. Still, as his eyes raked over her body, waiting for her decision, a tiny seed of doubt wiggled in the back of her mind. She squared her shoulders. Nope. She wasn’t going home until she knew what made her eyes roll to the back of her head and she wanted him to show her.
“I’m not...”
He shouldered open the door and dragged her to him. The cool kiss of the textured wall greeted her bare shoulders as his mouth, hot and demanding, found hers. She sighed against his lips, jerking his shirt free from his waistband. He cupped her breast, his thumb stroking her nipple. Fire danced through her veins, pooled low. Her heart skipped a beat when he yanked the chiffon from her shoulders, ripping the sheer fabric.
Lifting his head, he flashed a quick smile, his mist-gray eyes shining with heat and mischief. “I hope you weren’t too attached to this dress.”
She didn’t care how he got her clothes off, just as long as he got them off. Her pulse raced and her breath quickened when the thin silk of her slip followed the fate of her dress. Trisha slid her hands beneath his shirt, his skin warm and smooth beneath her palms.
“Now what am I supposed to wear home?”
Zach grabbed her wrists, shackling them in one large hand and raising her arms above her head. She gasped as her breasts thrust upwards, straining for attention. “We’ll worry about that later.” He dipped his head, capturing one taut peak in his mouth.
She arched against him as desire further hardened her nipples and set her blood to simmering. His fingers brushed the curve of her hip, before drifting lower, tracing the sensitive skin below her garter belt.
“You’re a bit naughty, Trish,” he whispered against her mouth.
Her answering chuckle melted into a moan when his fingers stroked her damp pussy. His eyes widened when his hand met no barrier.
“Very naughty indeed,” he murmured. He leaned away, cool air skittering across her heated flesh. “I’ve waited so long for this.”
“Too long,” she agreed.
Pivoting, he grabbed her hand and led her into the bedroom. The king-size bed dominated the room and sat in front of the mirrored doors to the closet. Artificial candlelight flickered around the room, casting muted shadows against the wallpaper while the soft scent of jasmine wafted through the air.
Warm fuzzies squeezed her heart. Despite being a day early he had surprised her. She stepped forward, her nylon-clad feet skimming against something cool and satiny. Rose petals trailed from the door to the bed. She perched on the edge of the bed, too overwhelmed to speak.
When she focused on him, he watched her with a hooded expression.
“It seems like you’ve thought about this, haven’t you?”
He tucked a curl behind her ear. “I get one chance to make a lasting impression.”
“Thank you.”
His eyes widened when she shoved him back on the bed and straddled his legs. The bulge grew and hardened beneath her thigh. She worked at loosening his tie. Once unknotted, she tossed it aside and focused on the buttons. With each button released from its mooring she revealed more of his amazing body. She pushed the shirt aside to trace the large, colorful dragon/koi tattoo that began on his left pec and wrapped around his bicep to disappear onto his back. Anticipation coiled in her belly. Oh how she wanted to find out how far his tattoo went.
“You’ve tortured me enough tonight and I think it’s time you paid up,” she murmured against his lips. She skimmed light, teasing kisses from his mouth to his jaw.
A startled gasp escaped her lips when he shifted and blanketed her body with his. He captured her wrists in one large hand and held them above her head.
“One day, very soon, I’m going have you tied and helpless beneath me.”
She sucked in a breath, holding his gaze, unwilling to admit how much she wanted the same thing.
He traced the swell of her breasts just above the neckline of her corset. “But there is one image of you I can’t seem to get out of my head.” He touched his lips to hers in a long, drugging kiss that left her craving more. “Are you game?”
“I’m yours for the weekend.”
He chuckled, a smoldering look scorching her body. She responded to that look. “Oh, I like how that sounds.”
Heat crept into her cheeks as she realized what she’d said. “I—uh, yeah.”
He nipped at her neck, even as he settled deeper into the vee of her thighs. The heavy bulge of his erection rubbed against her core. Instinctively she raised her hips in greeting.
“I want to watch you, beautiful,” he murmured against her lips.
She stiffened. “Watch me what?”
He rolled off her and helped her to sitting. “I want to watch you climax, before I send you over the edge again.”

A Deeper Darkness by J T Ellison Book review

As a medical examiner, Samantha Owens knows her job is to make a certain sense of death with crisp methodology and precision instruments. But the day the Tennessee floods took her husband and children, the light vanished from Sam's life. She has been pulled into a suffocating grief no amount of workaholic ardor can penetrate—until she receives a peculiar call from Washington, D.C.

On the other end of the line is an old boyfriend's mother, asking Sam to do a second autopsy on her son. Eddie Donovan is officially the victim of a vicious carjacking, but under Sam's sharp eye the forensics tell a darker story. The ex-Ranger was murdered, though not for his car.

Forced to confront the burning memories and feelings about yet another loved one killed brutally, Sam loses herself in the mystery contained within Donovan's old notes. It leads her to the untouchable Xander, a soldier off-grid since his return from Afghanistan, and then to a series of brutal crimes stretching from that harsh mountainous war zone to this nation's capital. The tale told between the lines makes it clear that nobody's hands are clean, and that making sense of murder sometimes means putting yourself in the crosshairs of death.

My thoughts

A Deeper darkness is a great mystery - suspense story filled with twists and turns and paced at a steady rate that will keep your interest piqued throughout.

Characters that are easily liked, and disked, but easily related to and a storyline that will certainly keep the reader engaged till the last page.

We all want to know the what, how and who of every murder mystery,  and this story certainly kept my interest till the very end.

The ending however fell short for me, I felt it was a bit rushed and not as well-developed and consistent with the rest of the storyline and characters put forth. A possible sequel could possibly be written from this ending.

I won’t go into the storyline – Read the blurb and add this to your pile.  Its certainly a good mystery, suspense, thriller with a little romance but not enough to add in  that genre.

Otherwise – an easy breezy read, fluently written with a plot that is certainly engaging for any reader. Well-developed characters and storyline that has depth and definition. Heartache and loss , determination and oomph.

Ellison has certainly put forth Sam’s heartache and feelings – well, and for all those readers who may get a little choked up, there are certain parts that any mother can certainly relate to... A broken heart – that is unrepairable even with time. Guilt - lost love and fighting every day just to survive.

I enjoyed the Story in which was scripted – for all those who enjoy a murder mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat – to find how who dun it – this story is definitely for you.

Addicted by Charlotte Featherstone Book Review

Friends since childhood, Anais Darnby and Lindsay Markham have long harbored a secret passion for one another. When they finally confess their love, their future together seems assured, sealed with their searing embrace. But when a debauched Lindsay is seduced by a scheming socialite, a devastated Anais seeks refuge in another man's bed while Lindsay retreats to the exotic East. There, he is seduced again—this time by the alluring red smoke and sinister beauty of opium.Back home, Lindsay's addiction is fed by the vogue for all things Oriental—especially its sensual pleasures—in fashionable London society. In his lucid moments, Lindsay still lusts after Anais, who can neither allow him near nor forget his smoldering touch. Tortured by two obsessions—opium and Anais—Lindsay must ultimately decide which is the one he truly cannot live without.

My thoughts.

The prologue for Addicted will alone have you drawn into the pages. The way in which Charlotte has put forth Addiction is like  poetry. Vivid and well portrayed.  Filled with depth, and intense feelings that will have you looking from the side lines, but you will feel you as if you are  within the story itself. Erotic and enticing - a Historical Romance like no other.  After reading the Prologue it may take you a few chapters to get into the storyline,  this is a build up of whats more to come. ;)

Part of the Prologue…

** My relationship with my mistress is uncomplicated. I know what she
Desires of me; at the same time, she understands and fulfils my
Needs. As any mistress she is, at times, demanding to the point of
Suffocation, always wanting more—needing more. But when I come
to her, she loves me like nothing—or no one—ever has.
All she wants is my return to her, night after night, hour after hour.
And I do return with eager anticipation. She always welcomes my
homecoming with outstretched arms and together, we make the
sweetest, most decadent love, a love where two become one. Where I
become so coiled in her powers that I never want to leave."

(This is Addiction................... The Red Smoke - Opium.....) .

Addicted is very different from all the historical Romances I have read, if anything a little darker in the storyline surrounding the characters.

 Yet compelling… and certainly devastating.

We also have some Spine tingling moments, where your toes will  be curling... and other moments where you will be wanting to throw something  ... mabye the book if you werent so compelled to read on lol.

The storyline is well scripted  and fluent flowing, dialogue  well-paced and engages the reader beautifully -   But with a tragic plot entwined throughout. We have a tragic, emotionally-charged story of love, Betrayal, lies and also balanced out with forgiveness to give the reader a heavy heart throughout but an enlightened one at the ending.

Moments where I'm sure you will wipe away that stray tear, and other moments where you are unsure where your loyalty as a reader lies within the characters. It's gripping - captivating and mesmerizing. I read this in one sitting. I was truly addicted. ;)  Heartbroken, annoyed, cranky and yet compelled to read on to find out if True love can find forgiveness.

Addicted in a love story of Anais and Lindsey whose love for one another is tested by deception of loved ones, betrayal, and secrets withheld.  Anais and Lindsay ‘s love ,   desires,  pain,   passion and friendship are  woven with such vivid detail,  as the  reader I could feel and see every emotion and detail put forth in this story.  I was heartbroken at Anais’s betrayal, Lindsey’s love for the red smoke, and the downward spiral of a love that they both could not live without. It seems to be an ends to a means on many occasions.  With twists and turns in the plot, the story was unpredictable by any means.

A love story that has blossomed since childhood between Anais and Lindsay - passion that is unleashed, mistakes that are made, it is certainly a test of   Love within this story.

An unpredictable ending by any means, as a reader, I was concerned that Lindsay’s obsession would end up being his life. His Obsession to be with his love – even within the red smoke was a scary thought, and at every chapter my breathe was baited waiting for the worst to become.  Lindsay searched for a way to be with his lady love even within her absence and the red smoke gave him every desire he had ever yearned for . ** Anais **

His addictions = One ruled his mind and strength while the other his heart, soul and body. A spider caught within its web...
We see Lindsay’s fight for the love of both his addictions throughout this read. Will Anais’s love alone get him through the darkest time of his life?

Anais was a strong woman, to go what she went through and to make the decisions she did, it seems in the end, and she really had no choice. As much as I disliked the choices she made, I can see why – to be an outcast in those days would bring shame to everyone she loved.
The passion and love that Anais and Lindsay have throughout the story was well written. Giving the reader great insight into the love and igniting passion  they both felt and shared. We also see the pain they both shared to not have each other in their lives. But-  I as a reader didn’t hold much hope for them both in the end.

But it does show that True love can find a way.

Complex, devastating and dark. Addiction will have you thinking about it after the last page has been turned. Characters that will stay with you, and a storyline, that will have you addicted till that last word has been read.

An ending that will leave you sighing in content.

This  book was supplied  to me  via the publisher for my honest thoughts and opininos. Which are my own. Thank you to Harlequin .

Lusted In Las Vegas by Sandra Bunino Review & Give away

Welcome to Page Flipperz. Today I have the second book in this series up for review and a wonderful giveaway to go with.  Lusted In Las Vegas by Sandra Bunino.

Lusted in Las Vegas picks up where Marooned in Miami leaves off while Stephanie and Jason’s sexy tryst continues in Sin City! Their chemistry is undeniable and their lust just may take a turn toward love when they return to each other’s arms. However, all is not perfect in paradise when Jason’s ex comes to town and wants what she believes is rightfully hers.

Jason’s not the only one with something to hide. Stephanie carries a secret of her own. Can she spend a carefree weekend with Jason without risking a broken heart? Or does her feelings for Jason run too deep to simply walk away.

My thoughts !!

Lusted in Las Vegas picks up where Marooned in Miami leaves off while Stephanie and Jason’s sexy tryst continues in Sin City! I read this straight after Marooned in Miami, I just couldn’t wait!! I think I was as eager as Jason and Steph for the reuniting!! Sin city here I come!!!

Once again the chemistry is just smouldering, but in this read Sandra has thrown in a little suspense to give this story an edge as well.

Miss Jessica, Jason's ex, tries to cause havoc, her mingling and jealously has thrown a spanner in the works, Jason finds himself in hot water and it seems that they all have their secrets to reveal.

This was a short but smoking hot read, once again, I find it hard to believe that Sandra can script so much detail into such a short read, and not leave anything out.

The romance is ** PUT YOUR HEAD IN AN ICE BUCKET ** to cool down - PUT THE FIRE OUT BABY! The chemistry is wafting off the pages, and Jason well ** swoon ** I want one of him all to myself. (Sigh) Jason was even more romantic, sexy, and what not else in this story and Sandra has put forth yet another book boyfriend for us to lust over... ** snickers **

I enjoyed Steph's character , not as forth coming as Jason, but it certainly did bring out the devil in her .. ( grins ) We see a stronger side to her in this book, her strength to help Jason through in his time of need I think was the turning point for her in this story.

Lusted In Las Vegas, contains all the goodies a reader could want in a smexy filled read. Suspense, to have you anticipating that ending ... Romance that will make your toes curl, loving that will have you reaching for that ice bucket, and great characters that I’m sure you will enjoy!

And of course a happily ever after that will have you sheepishly grinning from ear to ear...

Sex that sizzle, romance that sparkles... Grab your copy today !

Do read book one before this .. I feel that you will miss the connection between the couple if you dont !

This book was suppiled to me from the author for my honest review and opinion.

Notorious by Nicola Cornick Book Review

Notorious (The Scandalous Women of the Ton #4)

by Nicola Cornick

When the ton's most notorious heartbreaker…
Dangerously seductive and sinfully beautiful, Susanna Burney is society's most sought after matchbreaker. Paid by wealthy parents to part unsuitable couples, she's never yet failed to accomplish her mission of diverting a groom-to-be. Until her final assignment brings her face-to-face with the man who'd once taught her an intimate lesson in heartache….

Meets London's most disreputable rake…

James Devlin has everything he's always wanted: a title, a rich fiancée and a place in society. But the woman who's just met his eyes across a crowded ballroom threatens it all. Not because she'd once claimed his heart, or that every sinuous swirl of her ball gown takes his breath away. But because the secrets she carries could cost him everything. To put the past to rest once and for all, Dev just might have to play Susanna at her own wicked game….

Let the seduction begin!

My review

Notorious is another great read from Nicola Cornick  and The  Scandalous Women of the Ton series.

In Notorious we meet Lady Susannah, she helps the Ladies of the Ton rid their sons of woman whom  they think that are not suitable enough for there sons. Normally ladies who are poor and unable to bring anything to the marriage worth cashing in.  Lady Susannah helps the families rid there sons of these women  by  seducing  the men from under the women's clutches, getting  her marriage proposal,   and months later cancels the wedding. Leaving the poor suitor unwed and heartbroken. But parents happy of this forth coming.

Whilst Susannah is on her latest assignment = She meets her husband of 9 years,  James Devlin. This comes as a surprise to both.

James is suspicious of Susannah's motives  and want to exploit her , but delves much further and finds out more than he bargained for.,  And also the fact that is  still married to his x- wife  and the marriage was never annulled.

My thoughts.

Nicola Cornick always portrays historical romance, in exactly that way. Her vivid descriptions, background information, and her storylines are always well scripted giving the reader a feel for the era in which she is depicting.

I have enjoyed all her characters in this story , as whiny as James Devlin may have come forth at times; I enjoyed his sexiness and his constant lusting for Susannah.  He was loving and passionate and a great catch for any woman of the ton. Despite his past and the rumours of being a rake, Devlin was a man of many colours. Green was certainly one (( lol ))

We certainly see the Chemistry between Lady Susannah and James Devlin. He was hot, smoking, and passionate and his Lady Love  could not resist this man in pantaloons.  The fire works  were certainly scripted with passion, love and heat between the pair that was undeniable .

I enjoyed Susannah's character - she was faithful, and with a heart of gold, her end to a means may not have been everyone’s cup of tea but her heart was certainly in the right place. I felt her heart ache at the loss she suffered, her struggle to provide for a family she was given, and the struggle to give away her love for unselfish reasons, to give him the life she thought he wanted.

Overall, Nicola Cornick always put forth a wonderfully scripted Historical romance, with a wonderful storyline and plot to go with.  This one started a little slower than most, but certainly picks up after 3-4 chapters.

Be drawn into the pages, to a world Of Scandal, Rakes, and Marriages of convenience, Seduction is at its finest in this story !

This book was provided to me via the publisher, for my honest opinion of why I enjoyed it.. Thanks to Harlequin  Australia

Bed of the Dead - Louisa Bacio Book review tour

Today I have for you a book  review for Bed of the Dead. This tour is hosted by Sizzling Pr Tours.

Bed of the Dead is a quick erotic read. At only 8 pages long, its fast  wham bam thank you mam -  won ton sex, but way to short.

However in the pages that Louisa scripted, we got a quick insight into the  characters and her writing style. The descriptions were very well put forth, and the read was certainly fast paced . ** waggles eyebrows **

Id love to have see more within the story, its hard to really get a good feel for a story when it's so short. Just when the pace increases we are finished.

The cover however  - Is sizzling.

Great potentional for a longer story.

I feel a  story this short, leaves room for so much more depth.  I love a good vampire story, but this fell short for me.

RATING 2 / 5

After inheriting a portion of Spain’s Royal Inheritance, Cain left The Flying Gang for a chance at honest wealth. With the secrets of his piracy tucked away, he achieved his lofty aspirations. But when his partner and best friend betrays him to the Royal Navy, Cain’s dreams are ripped to shreds. He’s left with his ship, the tattered remnants of a stolen future, and a piece of Spanish mystery. Wanted by three nations and destined for the gallows, he returns to the legendary band of buccaneers for one purpose -- vengeance.

Kidnapped by the formidable Cain, India Prescott discovers he intends to kill the man she’s to marry. Cain’s story reveals betrayal. Treachery that extends to her as well. Although she holds the key to retribution, India refuses to become another man’s pawn. Freedom lies before her, the liberty to shrug off propriety, make her own decisions, and claim her destiny. But when she uncovers goodness in Cain’s soul and he awakens passion in her heart, she must combat the chains of convention once more.

Only this time India's not fighting society. She’s battling a pirate bent on keeping her decency intact.

Series Concept:

The Flying Gang Legacy

With Europe in chaos over who would claim the Spanish throne, the Atlantic waters bred a most despicable lot. Privateers who pillaged and claimed, loyal to no country, more thief than noble mercenary. One man would claim Spain’s inheritance. He would pass it on. To a band of cutthroats more terrifying and deadly than the nightmares of the deep.
As the nations settle into peace, The Flying Gang knows no boundaries. No sea is safe. No shore unchartered. Chilling Rogers raised to the sky, they reign with fear, bound only to the wind, the brotherhood, and the ships they love. One tiny jeweled box strikes a gleam in their eyes. A golden trinket four rogue Captains risk danger, capture, and even friendship to possess.
Until love interferes with their rapscallion hearts…

This would be my first pirate adventure I have read and it certainly won’t be my last by Claire Ashgrove. A treasure to certainly add to your reader.

With an array of characters, that will not only pull you into the pages, the chemistry between Teddy and India is just volcanic. The romance that Claire put forward was torturous, I waited and waited as I read on... the love grew, the tension unfolded, the passion and electricity was wafting off the pages, until finally, SWEET LOVIN... sigh.  ** throws party poppers **

I’m not sure if I was more eager than India in the end for Cain to just give in..  He was certainly one strong willed man. ((Snickers))   His mission to keep India decent despite her tortuous teasing was just unfathomable lol. Keeping in mind that India certainly did give him a run for his lovin.

The swarthy and charismatic pirate captain certainly had me rooting for the romance to bloom , but also had my heart breaking many a times. I really enjoyed his character, he was brave, hot, and a man who certainly could weild a sword. (( blushes ))

I eagerly await Drake’s story to. ((Hoping that the author lady gives us one of course)) I liked his meddling, but his friendship and loyalty was well put forth in this story.

A great storyline, with a fluent flowing storyline, characters that will certainly pull you abroad the Kraken, and vivid descriptions thoroughly written throughout. A pirate tale, with many adventures, romance, action, suspense and what's a pirate tale without a little treasure...  Even if it be – The woman you love.

An encounter on the high seas. ... Swarthy pirates and aye – Sexy moments to singe your lashes, and  have your corset in a tether.

Five Reasons Pirates are Sexy

1.  Long Hair – What pirate do you know that has access to a barber?  They all had long hair of some sort, even if just at the nape of the neck from a short cut grown out.  Long shaggy hair to tangle your fingers in.  Long hair to dust your skin.  Long hair that promises wickedness… need I say more?

2.  Tattoos – Unique symbols that flaunt the far away places they’ve traveled.  Designs that tout their worldly experiences… maybe they learned a few more “worldly” things as well.

3.  Piercings – I find myself wondering what a pirate would think of today’s piercings.  Did they go that far?  The gold hoop earring, the tiny loop on the brow, the nose… the navel or…?  Wouldn’t it be fun to explore?

4.  The Accent – And no, I don’t mean the Disney, “Arr, Matey!”  I mean the slow, swagger of a foreign tongue.  The touch of brogue interspersed with something else.  A whisper that turns ordinary into extraordinary.  Yum!

5.  Arrogance – The pirate is the ultimate alpha hero who truly believes he is undefeatable (even when he’s defeated). A little charm to coerce someone into seeing things his way.  A little force when necessary.  And he even carries sword and pistol!

When I stop to think about it, pirates of old resemble the motorcycle-riding, tattoo-sporting, bad-boy we all love to love.  There are so many similarities, despite the eras that separate them.  Charming, enticing, and romantic all at the same time!

What about you?  What do you think our pirates of old would think of our modern bad-boys?

(( I personally think they would kick arse )) snickers  - Kat

 A TEASER ............................. EXCERPT

Excerpt 3

“We can’t, Cain,” she whispered. Swallowing, she moistened her dry throat.
Like someone cracked a whip above his head, all the dark intensity in his gaze shifted to reveal a spark of anger. “Surely you don’t intend to hide behind this falsehood of loyalty to Richard.”
She twisted out of his hold and rose on unsteady legs. Free of his intoxicating nearness, sense returned. She shook her head. “It’s no falsehood. We are to wed. You know this.”
A wry smirk danced on his mouth as he stood. “A wedding that can’t take place if the bride does not return.”
Indignation rode her hard. The heaving of her chest began anew, and she whirled around with a fierce scowl. “You cannot keep me here forever!”
One dark eyebrow rose to mock her. “No? I see no one to stop me.” In three long strides he closed the distance between them. His hand shot out to yank the leather strap from around her waist and wind it tight around her wrists. He held them in one hand. “Did you forget you are my captive? I can keep you as long as I desire. No one will stop me from tying you here, or binding you in the hold.”
She gritted her teeth in a vain effort to still her tongue and tell him all the vile things that ran through her head. But at the sound of his low chuckling, her temper got the better of her. “If your intent is to keep me prisoner for eternity, I promise you I will find a way off this ship if I have to jump overboard. I may not possess the legs to sail, but I am quite capable of swimming.”
With a broad sweep of his arm, he gestured at the window. “Swim if you wish. You will tire. When you do, I will be there to haul you in. And when I do, you will still be bound, and still my captive. And if we wish to enjoy each other’s bodies, we shall.”
Spluttering, she opened her mouth to argue with logic, but sensible words eluded her tongue. All that tumbled loose was the ridiculous protest, “What you speak of is indecent!”
Pain flickered across his face, so insignificant she wouldn’t have noticed had he not moved closer to the light. With a nonchalant shrug, the momentary crease to his brow smoothed and his devilish smile returned to lift the corners of his mouth. “I have no place among decency.”

The Siren by Tiffany Reisz Book review

Today I have The Siren by Tiffany Reisz for review. Thank you to Harlequin for supplying this book for my honest review.

Notorious Nora Sutherlin is famous for her delicious works of erotica, each one more popular with readers than the last. But her latest manuscript is different--more serious, more personal--and she's sure it'll be her breakout book...if it ever sees the light of day.

Zachary Easton holds Nora's fate in his well-manicured hands. The demanding British editor agrees to handle the book on one condition: he wants complete control. Nora must rewrite the entire novel to his exacting standards--in six weeks--or it's no deal.

Nora's grueling writing sessions with Zach are draining...and shockingly arousing. And a dangerous former lover has her wondering which is more torturous--staying away from him...or returning to his bed?

Nora thought she knew everything about being pushed to your limits. But in a world where passion is pain, nothing is ever that simple.

My review ..............

The Siren is definitely not your typical romance, no hearts and flowers, no love making with that gooey feeling we all like to feel or moments where your panties are bunching or your loins are tingling from the hot loving going on. (Unless of Course S & M is for you...)

It’s raw, intense, painful and downright graphic. If anything, you will be taken back a step, gasping at times with your breathe hitched and also wandering to yourself how Nora lives the life she lives. You will find yourself teary eyed, cringing, giggling, gobsmacked and you may even find yourself slightly held back and uncomfortable with certain scenes but believe me you won’t put it down.

There are moments when Nora’s witty comments will have you sheepishly grinning, she is a character that you will either love or hate. She is very complex and I must say I have never met a character quiet like her.

We see many sides to Nora in this novel, Submissive, mother hen, Dominatrix, and woman but definelty not Vanilla. We also see many shades of Nora, and many a times black and blue. ((You ask yourself how one enjoys pain with love; this is where the S & M is introduced)) Tiffany has put forth this well giving the reader insight to a love others may find appalling and downright cruel, to love that others find a part of life and love.

Nora has no reservations in her life, she just does whom she chooses, flogs and beats her clients just the way they want, sucks, f**s and wields her flogger like a pro. She is open minded, honest and ** out there **. She reminds me of a runaway train – we never knew which direction she was taking us.

The Siren – Yes ……. it’s got Erotica in it – we are taken to the darker side of BDSM - S & M in this story and it may not be every readers desire to read about this lifestyle. But if you as a reader have read the reviews you should know what it entails upon reading.

Tiffany has certainly done her homework and given us in-depth visuals into this lifestyle. We are given descriptions that will not only open your eyes into the world of BDSM and S & M but also have you aching and bruised along with the characters.

In the Siren we meet Nora, a famous erotica author who is eager to write the best novel of her life, here she meets Zacc. Zacc is an editor with a tortured soul, trying to move on with life and the loss of someone he loves dearly. We are taken on a whirlwind with Nora and Zacc, she shows him a little in her life and writings.

The relationship they entail is funny and witty at times, Nora’s constant sexual harassment leaves Zacc not only wanting more but also thinking about his wife and his love. His belief in her and her writing forms a strong friendship; he is determined to make her an erotic writer with depth...

The sex scenes are dark, rough, and even scary in this story so be prepared when reading for a darker side to sex than just vanilla and lots of love.

Wesley is another character I’m sure your heart will ache for. Nora hired him as her intern to help out around the house, cook, help her with her writing and other things involved. Wesley loves Nora for his own pure reasons, and Wesley is the only pure thing Nora has ever had. He is good for her, makes her feels things she shouldn’t but Wesley is not what Nora needs. His pure heart can only be hurt by her so she does one selfless thing and the only right thing she feels is good.

But I can’t but help that Nora doesn’t really know what Nora wants?

Soren – I’m still debating on him. Tiffany certainly threw us a curve ball half way through this one. I won’t go into too much detail, except I ‘m not sure I liked his character. He has many dark aspects, even though he is from the light? This will make more sense when you read the book. His love for Nora he shows on many occasions, it’s the dark stuff that daunting, but it’s what they both need and want from the love they share.

Your heart will feel heavy after you have turned the last page, but I’m sure you as a reader will also understand Nora’s sacrifice. A love so pure, but let go, a love filled with darkness, but needed in more ways than one. Nora’s love for all three men all are portrayed differently. Nora helps Zacc to move on, Lets Wesley go to save him and goes back to a man that may beat and bruise her, but she loves him unconditionally. Keep in mind when reading The Siren that, Nora does have her safe word, and even when she is battered and bruised and in hospital, she made a choice that took her there. S & M is not everyone‘s cup of tea, but for those who want it, this is the lifestyle they choose to live. It is not forced upon them.

The siren is dark, yet captivating, alluring yet down right erotic, but at the same time, hard – and compelling. Not your normal erotica story put forth, but Tiffany Reisz has flawlessly written this novel, bringing out every emotion one could possible feel. With an intriguing story written within a story , Tiffany has eloquently scripted this story , so that the reader is not only drawn into the world that she has created but given us an insight into a completely different lifestyle choice with characters that will draw you not only in there world but within the pages.

From the book

There was no such thing as London fog--never had been. The London Fog of legend was only that. In reality London fog was London smog, and at the height of the Industrial Revolution it had killed thousands, choking the city with its poisonous hands. Zach Easton knew that in the offices of Royal House Publishing, he was known as the London Fog, the disparaging nickname coined by a fellow editor who disapproved of Zach's dour demeanor. Zach had no love of his nickname or the editor who'd coined it. But today he was eager to earn his epithet.

As he knew he would, Zach found John-Paul Bonner, the chief managing editor of Royal House Publishing, still hard at work even after hours. J.P. sat on the floor of his office, piles of manuscripts stacked about him like a paper Stone-henge in miniature.

Zach stopped in J.P.'s doorway and leaned against the frame. He stared his chief editor down and did not speak. He didn't have to tell J.P. why he was here. They both knew.

"Death--she comes to me on an Easton fog," J.P. said from the floor as he sorted through another stack of books. "A poetic enough way to die. You are here to kill me, I presume."

At sixty-four and with his gray beard and spectacles, J.P. was literature personified. Usually Zach enjoyed playing word games with him, but he was in no mood for repartee today.

"'Yes'?" J.P. repeated. "Just 'yes'? Well, brevity is the soul of wit after all. Help an old man off the floor, will you, Easton? If I'm going to die, might as well die on my feet."

Sighing, Zach stepped into the office, reached down and helped J.P. stand. J.P. patted Zach gratefully on the shoulder and collapsed into his chair behind his desk.

"I'm a dead man anyway. Can't find that damn Hamlet galley for John Warren. Should have had it in the mail yesterday. But happiness is good health and a bad memory they say, and I am a happy, happy man."

Zach studied J.P. for a moment and silently cursed him for being so endearing. His affection for his boss made this conversation far less pleasant. Zach walked over to J.P.'s bookshelves and ran his hand along the top of the case. He knew J.P.'s habit of stashing important papers where even he couldn't reach them. Zach found a manuscript and pulled it down. He threw it on J.P.'s desk and watched it kick up a small cloud of dust.

"Bless you," J.P. said, coughing as he put his hand over his heart. "You have saved my life."

"Now I get to be the one who kills you."

J.P. eyed Zach and pointed at the chair across from the desk. Zach reluctantly sat down, pulling his gray coat around him like a suit of armor.

"Easton, look," J.P. began but it was as far as Zach let him get.

"Nora Sutherlin?" Zach infused the name with as much disgust as he could muster, a considerable amount at the moment. "You must be joking."

"Yes, Nora Sutherlin. I've thought about it, looked at the sales projections. I think we should acquire her. I want you to work with her."

"I will do no such thing. It's pornography."

"It's not pornography." J.P. peered at Zach over the top of his glasses. "It's erotica. Very good erotica."

"I had no idea there was such a thing."

"Two words--Anai's Nin," J.P. retorted.

"Two more words--Booker Prize."

J.P. exhaled noisily and leaned back in his chair.

"Easton, I know your track record. You're one of the top talents in the industry by far. I wouldn't have paid to import you here to New York if...
