Sara's Smile by Sandra Bunino Book Tour & Review

As an architect who specializes in restorations, Sara Wiley is a genius at returning neglected structures to their former glory. But when it comes to her own life, she has no idea how to reclaim the ruins, which are all that remain of her first true love.

When the biggest opportunity of her career and a sexy contractor comes her way, she’s thrilled…until she learns that the client is the long-ago boy who captured her heart and continues to invade her dreams. Is it a bittersweet coincidence or might there be a chance, after all, for Sara to revisit the mistakes of her past and build the future she has wanted for so long?

My thoughts.

Sandra has put forth a wonderful romance of true love ..... A short novella about your first true love. I know I can remember mine - how bout you ? Sara Wiley never forgot hers, until by chance they meet again ....

Sara's smile is a well scripted story , filled with all the goodies one could want.. A sexy x ,, competition - and smokin hot lovin under the covers.. and also a storyline that will have your interest piqued till the very last word. I wont go into the storyline much read the blurb for yourself it gives you a good gist of the storyline put forth.

An enjoyable short read, that will tanatlize any romantic at heart, great characters, and a storyline that will intrigue you till the very end ;) Great for a before bed read, or something short and sweet to read in one sitting.

My first book I have read of Sandra's and I will certainly be reading more in the near futre ;) The cover is certainly passionate and Sandra does reflect this passion and smexiness in her story.

4 / 5 stars !!!

An excerpt to Tease you a little !!!

A familiar voice drew Sara Wiley’s concentration from her Blackberry to the crowded Fifth Avenue corner where she stood waiting for the crossing signal to change.
The source was revealed by a quick scan of the sidewalk. Her eyes locked on a back view of broad shoulders outlined under a slate grey suit jacket. Gazing upward, she recognized the head of dark hair that skimmed the top of his collar. Sara sucked in a breath and her heart quickened. There was no mistaking the confident stance as he talked with the man standing next to him. Unable to speak or move from her spot beneath the street sign as the light changed, Sara simply watched as he was swallowed up by the crowd.
Longing, mixed with painful tinges of regret and sadness, engulfed her heart as she fought back tears. Thank God her feet wouldn’t move, because her first instinct was to chase him down that busy New York City avenue and to feel those protective arms around her body while she nestled her face into that perfect spot between his shoulder and neck.
Shit, Sara, it’s been five years. Get it together. She rarely allowed those feelings to get the best of her and there was no time for a breakdown. I need to be on my game today, she thought as she stepped inside the coffee shop next to her midtown office building for her second non-fat latte of the spring morning.
Due to luck and great timing, the managing partners of Richards + Rodgers Architects had assigned Sara to the Hanson House restoration, a Greenwich, Connecticut sixteen-room Victorian. Normally, one of the partners of would have claimed such a large project but none of them wanted it because of the hands-on attention it would require through the spring and summer months.  The wealthy Greenwich businessman who recently purchased the mansion contracted with the firm to restore it to its original splendor, and Sara had jumped at the chance to lead the project. What the hell, it was the perfect opportunity to show the partners what she could do. After all, she had no grand plans for the summer. Her social life was mediocre at best and her love life was sadly nonexistent.
After drawing up the plans, bids were sent to a dozen construction companies, which she then narrowed to a short list of four. One of which was at the top of her list: Pennington Construction. PC was one of the fastest-growing and highly respected construction businesses in the metropolitan area. The PC bid came within budget and was accompanied by an impressive portfolio of restoration projects. Sara flipped through the glossy pictures of Victorians and stopped at the picture of a home she knew. It was a mansion on North Water Street in Martha’s Vineyard, on the same street where she had spent numerous summers with her best friend, Cat. Small world, she thought wistfully.
Sara had purposely scheduled the interview with Pennington Construction last, as she wanted to give each construction firm equal consideration, rather than risk being swayed by her first choice. She walked by the office receptionist, Mary, on her way to the meeting in her firm’s conference room. Mary was closer to her mother’s age than her own, and she continually tried to set Sara up on blind dates.
“Hey, you picked a good day to look sexy. Have you seen Mr. Pennington yet?”
“Mary, ‘sexy’ wasn’t the look I was after. Really, you think this outfit looks sexy? I was going for professional.” She chose her outfits carefully. Knowing she looked even younger than her twenty-five years, she felt it was important that she look professional. She’d decided on a black pencil skirt with a narrow ruffle at the knee-length hem and a light blue silk blouse. Black heels completed the ensemble. She wore her hair in a low knot at the nape of her neck, but her locks had a life of their own and, by the ten-thirty meeting with Pennington, wisps of hair had already loosened from her bun.
Mary surveyed her from head to toe. “Okay, you are a sexy professional. More importantly, Michael Pennington is very good looking and is just your type. Plus he’s not wearing a wedding ring. I checked it out when he signed in,” Mary said with a wink.
“You are too much. Besides, I want to hire this guy, and you know my rule. I don’t date men I work with,” Sara said over her shoulder as she walked toward the conference room.
“You may want to rethink the hire, then.”

This one is an extended excerpt !!!  ;)

Why am I doing this? she asked herself when she climbed into the cab, the next evening. Having dinner with him certainly isn’t going to help me get him out of my dreams.
As she got out, in front of O’Reilly’s, she was startled by her own reflection, and silently thanked Cat for assembling her outfit of dark skinny jeans, pink chiffon top with spaghetti straps and strappy silver sandals.  At Cat’s insistence, she had worn her hair long and loose, and she had added her favorite dangling silver earrings and a matching chain and pendant just before she walked out the door. If clothing was armor, she was as well equipped as she could manage for the coming conversation.
She found Will at the crowded bar, where he kissed her on the cheek and gave her his seat.
“What are you drinking?” he asked.
“I’ll have whatever you’re having.”
He ordered two martinis, and they began talking about the Hanson House. From there, the conversation turned naturally to their jobs. As Sara had expected, Will explained that he traveled all over the world and spent only a few weeks out of the year at his apartment in Santa Monica.
While he spoke, she stared at his mouth, remembering how his kisses felt on her lips. A glance at his hands awoke her memory of the way they had encircled her waist as she made love to him.
Stop it, she ordered herself sternly, and shook her head.
“Are you okay?”
Oh shit. I didn’t say that out loud, did I? “Y-yeah, I’m fine,” she answered with a laugh.
“Now that we’ve made a dent in these martinis,” he said, looking down at his glass, “I have to tell you… You broke my heart, that last night. I really loved you, Sara.”
“And you don’t think I felt the same way? Will, I made a clean break between us for you, as much as me. It never would have worked out, given our situations. You were traveling the world on the fast track to success, and I had a challenging course schedule. Look at us now, with everything we wished for. Our hard work paid off.”
Will’s gaze sharpened. “Have you ever regretted it? You know, not giving us a chance?”
Sara paused and looked into his eyes. Every day. That was what she wanted to answer, but instead she said, “I think our table is ready. Come on. Let’s go sit down.”
Over dinner, they reminisced about the summers they’d spent in Martha’s Vineyard. By the end of their meal, they noticed a band setting up, so they decided to have one more drink and listen to the music.
The bar was noisy and crowded. Will found Sara a barstool but had to stand close to her so that they could hear each other speak.  She couldn’t help noticing the feel of his legs against hers as he leaned in to speak in her ear.
“I’ll be right back,” he said with a smile.
“What are you up to?” she asked, but he was gone before she could finish the question.
A few minutes later, Sara heard the first chords of a familiar tune.  And it seemed that she wasn’t the only Hall & Oates fan in the bar, because many of the patrons clapped when the song started to play.
Will returned as soon as the band’s singer began.  Sara looked at him and smiled.
He grinned. “Did you think you were going to get away without hearing this song tonight?”
They sang along, as did most of the people at the bar. At the end of the song, everyone clapped, and Sara hugged Will.  His body felt wonderful, touching hers.  She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, as familiar feelings came flooding back…
And then she froze.  What am I doing? He’s leaving in a day or two. There’s no future with him, any more than there was, back then.
She looked at her watch nervously. “We’d better go,” she said abruptly, and lead the way out of the restaurant, pausing only to ask the hostess to call a cab for her.
Once outside, they moved away from the door, and Sara leaned against the wall to wait for her cab. Will stood in front of her and braced his hand on the wall. The heat from his body drew her close.
“I had a really great time tonight, Sara,” he said, locking eyes with her.
“I did, too,” she said, looking up at him.
“Would it be okay if I kissed you?” he whispered.
She nodded, and he bent down and gave her a soft, slow kiss. He pulled away but Sara kept her eyes closed, feeling her strap slip off of her shoulder, sensing his nearness…
“I don’t want this to end,” he said.
His fingers traveled up her arm and slid the strap back onto her shoulder.  She was trying to decide whether he meant the night or something more, when she heard the cab honk from the street.

Cover Reveal Dirty Blood 3 - Heather Hildenbrand *BLOOD BOND*

Cover Reveal - Dirty Blood Heather Hildenbrand.

Wow  - Today we have the cover for Book three in Heather's  Dirty Blood Series. It  is approaching us fast - August 31st is Release Day Here is the cover .

If I had to choose one word to sum up all of my problems, this would be it.
Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to watch my best friend slowly becoming a monster. Without hybrids, I could let go of the mentality “hunt or be hunted.” CHAS wouldn’t be scouring the Earth, intent on slaughtering and using Alex to do it. Without hybrids, I wouldn’t have to be on guard that losing my temper meant losing my shape. There would be no monster inside me, struggling to get out.
Then again, without hybrids, I wouldn’t have Wesley St. John

A big yay !! for Heather and her wonderful artist Sara Reine - writer who created this wonderful cover !!

Blood Lust Rising - Fayth Devlin Book Reivew _ tour

Blood Lust Rising - Fayth Devlin

Vampire Queen and Demon son – Together they will wreak havoc and total destruction. Or at least, that’s what the prophecy says. When a sex-seething succubus focuses in on Ella Grey, a half-breed vampire and her Shadow Hunting partner, Micah McGregor, a power is released neither can control or comprehend.

A chain of events is triggered, forcing Ella and Micah down a shadowed path riddled with unrestrained passion, violence and betrayal. The truth of Micah’s demonic origins will reveal a heart-breaking conspiracy within the Shadow Agency that once swore to protect humanity from vampires and demons. Ella and Micah are proof that nothing is as it appears.

My Thoughts..

Blood lust rising is an action packed, suspenseful thriller filled with lots of sexy moments, humour and Romance - . Demons, Vampires, Werewolves and a  world filled with the paranormal!!

I really enjoyed the action packed scenes in this book. Ella and Micah were a force to be reckoned with. Both hunters who have secrets and a past that comes to face them. Jealously, lies and rivalry Micah and Ella are thrown into a calling they never knew they had.

Fayth 's Debut book is definitely a must read, for all those whom enjoy a vampire story with wonderfully crafted characters and unpredictable twists and turns then  this will certainly not disappoint. Blood Lust Rising has an ending that leaves more for us to dwell on, a book two in store for sure.

The chemistry between Micah and Ella is smouldering, hot and wafts off the pages, the sex is hot, toe curling and definitely smoking! For all those who love a bit of heat in there reads, then Blood lust Rising is for you!  Micah was sexy as sin – tough , brave and kick arse and Ella no young lady, she knew how to stand her ground and I like nothing more than to read a story, with a kick arse heroine who is not afraid to get her hands dirty or nailed chipped.

The secondary characters I must so enjoyed, a smokin hot demon – a shifter and many a scene that will certainly have you on the edge of your seat.

I enjoyed all the characters that Fayth has put forth, intermingled with an engrossing storyline that will keep your interest piqued throughout. I read this in almost one sitting. At over 265 pages long, I couldn’t believe it when I had come to the end. I was briskly reading until the very last page. Blood Lust Rising is  Filled with riveting scenes, smoking demons - and passionate filled sex scenes, as well  a well-blended story with all the right ingredients.

Portals, other worlds, - Find yourself engrossed in The world of Fayth Devlin's paranormal buffet !

I rate this book 4/5 !!!

Felicity Heaton Masquerade Blog Tour Meet Vivek & Giveaway

Welcome to The Blog Tour for Felicity Heaton's Masquerade. Felicity has given us an insight into  Writing the hero of Masquerade, Vivek.

It’s fantastic to be here again at Page Flipperz for the next stop on the book tour for my new vampire romance, Masquerade. Masquerade is the tenth book in my ongoing Vampires Realm romance series. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the others, as Masquerade does stand alone.

Today I want to talk about writing the hero of Masquerade. The first things that came to me for Masquerade, were the hero and heroine. They came with a story to tell and I listened. The plot grew from their pasts and their feelings, centred on them rather than the other way around.

Vivek is far from your typical hero. He doesn’t want to woo his heroine from page one. He wants to get her kicked off the guard and stripped of her captaincy. Vivek is a complicated hero, and also a very typical man. He approaches his feelings from completely the wrong angle and has done so for years, ever since the night he patrolled with Sophis and the twin hunters attacked them, leaving Sophis bleeding out from a dagger in her stomach and him with a stake in his back.

Seeing Sophis so close to death triggered a change in Vivek. His instincts said to protect her and the first solution he settled on was having her removed from the guard. If she were a civilian again, she would be safe. Male logic, but it makes sense in a basic sort of way. So, rather than being a hero who is out to charm the heroine and get her into bed, Vivek is a hero who is out to get her kicked off the guard, and is hurting her without knowing it. Not the world’s greatest hero.

I’ll admit, I worried when Vivek came to me with his grand master plan. We argued but in the end he got his way, illustrating that the path to true love is rarely lined with roses. It’s more realistic that it be lined with thorny stems and the pain that comes with them. He promised to redeem himself and see the error of his ways, and I agreed to write him the way he wanted to be written.

Vivek is not a sadistic, nasty character though. His misguided attempts to protect Sophis might make him appear that way but as he promised me, he does realise that he’s going about it all in the wrong way and that he’s on the verge of losing her. His grand master plan might just fail after all.

He may prove a frustrating hero, but who said that we must love a hero from the very beginning of the book? Vivek will earn your love more than any other hero ever has, proving himself able to change in order to win Sophis’s heart and correct his mistakes with her. He’s a diamond in the rough, in need of only a little polish to make him sparkle and capture your attention, and desire. I don’t often write heroes who start out more like a villain, but it is fun and interesting when it happens. I only hope that you’ll give Vivek a chance to prove that he’s worthy of your love and worthy of Sophis’s too, and that a real man, no matter what he has done, is able to see the error of his ways and will move heaven and earth to make amends and set everything right.

The thing is, for Vivek to set everything right, he must also change Sophis’s opinion of him and convince her to give him a second chance, and he’s going to have the fight of his life on his hands to make that happen. Can a hero who starts out more like a villain redeem himself and win the heart of his heroine?

To find that out, you’ll have to read the book and see just how Sophis and Vivek confront their past as they fight for revenge against the twin hunters who drove them apart.

I would also like to take this moment to mention that there is a grand giveaway running throughout the whole of the Masquerade Book Tour. F E Heaton
Ten years have passed since Sophis and Vivek, two vampires of the Venia bloodline, came close to death at the hands of twin hunters Aleksis and Izabella Romanov. The events of that night turned Sophis and Vivek against each other, shattering their close friendship and driving them apart.

Now, on the eve of a centenary Creator Day masquerade and at a time when things between them are dangerously close to separating them forever, they uncover a small army of vampire hunters in Saint Petersburg, led by their nemeses, Aleksis and Izabella.

With the safety of the rulers of the seven pure vampire bloodlines in their hands and their chance for vengeance hanging in the balance, can Sophis and Vivek face their past and overcome their differences? Will they realise their true feelings for each other before it’s too late or will the hunters finally claim their lives as their deadly plot to destroy the bloodlines unfolds?

Creating Fate - Rachel Firasek Book Review

She gave away her heart……
Giving her heart to a mortal wasn’t something the First Fate planned. Losing him nearly shattered her soul. Upon his death, Clotho swore never to love—or weave life—again. Hoping she’ll change her mind before it’s too late, Zeus commands the spinner of life to take a much needed vacation from her immortal responsibilities.
He had to hide his…
Dane is close to cracking the drug ring he’s spent the last two years infiltrating, but needs to perform one last heist to meet the head man and prevent an impending war. An undercover agent, he’s now on the run from drug lords, thieves and with the very woman whose tears make him forget his purpose.
Together they’ll find a way back from the dark.
Chloe will have to put her trust in the man she believes may have killed her fiance, or face an eternity on Earth. Without the desire for life, hope could slip through the cracks of time if he doesn’t love away her sorrow.

My thoughts.

Creating fate is book one in the Trilogy of the Unspun series. Eagerly awaiting the email, I devoured this in one sitting. The three books will be a series but all written by different authors, and I must admit that Rachel is one of my all-time favourite authors, grasping at my heartstrings with her last series of the Phoenix’s.

The Fates are a mixture of mythology and romance. Each Fate having their own purpose. In Creating Fate – Clotho – Chloe‘s, gift is to create new life – the bearer of beginnings.

Clotho is sad – she had lost her love, a human whom she loved very deeply and has decided that she will no longer spin fate – or create a new life. Zeus knows something is up and sends Chloe to earth to find her sisters and bring them home. Here she meets Dane – he sees her tears and he finds he is drawn to her. On a whirlwind of events, Dane and Chloe are put on a path of discovery and love. But will they survive the danger lurking around each corner they turn and will the Fates take away her one true chance of love and happiness. ?

Creating Fate was a short story, filled with mystery, mythology and intrigue. I have enjoyed Rachel Firasek's books much so and this one is no different. It had me hooked from the very first pages, her characters all draw you into the story, her vivid descriptions creating that vat that no only sucks you into her world but has you feeling every detail within.

I enjoyed the Characters that Rachel created; Dane was certainly a hotty, dark and mysterious but also had that secret about him throughout the story that kept me intrigued. I enjoyed his softer side and also his protective side towards Chloe. He was a warrior at heart. My heart melted at the kindess he showed her even though she was one stubborn woman lol.

Chloe was hard headed, strong willed yet full of love to give and filled with many little secrets . The romance between Dane and Chloe was magnetic, and alluring. ** waggles eyebrows** not as much heat as Rachel normally puts into her reads, but still very much enjoyable ;)
I enjoyed the paranormal elements within, the storyline ran smoothly and kept my interested piqued to the end.

An ending Im sure all the readers will be happy with, Im eager to read the rest in the series.

Creating Fate gives us Gods, heroes, romance and action. Dynamic characters and a compelling storyline that draws you not only into the world Rachel has created but wandering where Fate will show up next.

I rated this 4/5

Instead, the Pyr throw her a birthday party but ban Megan from attendance, putting Zoë in a tight spot. Things get even worse when Zoe is invited to the popular kids’ Halloween party and Megan’s left out. Zoë knows the party is a trap laid by the host, an apprentice Mage. "Blazing The Trail" - Book 3
It’s almost Valentine’s Day, and Zoë Sorensson’s love life is heating up. Cute, loyal, and understanding, wolf shifter Derek is pretty much the perfect guy. He likes Zoë, and he knows what it’s like to have to keep a secret. Yet, Zoë can’t help but wish it was rebel rocker Jared asking her to the Valentine’s dance instead. But Jared’s too busy playing hot and cold with her heart, calling Zoë his dragon girl one minute and then taking special interest in her best friend the next.
Zoë is just about ready to breathe fire, especially once she uncovers a new threat that targets her friends. Although Zoë thought the Mages were defeated, they’re back and have invoked an old spell to give them new power – they plan to eliminate all shape shifters on the night of the big dance. Now, Zoë must lead an alliance of young shifters to battle the Mages and figure out exactly what – and who – she wants, before it all goes up in smoke…

About the author:
Deborah Cooke has always been fascinated with dragons, although she has never understood why they have to be the bad guys. She has an honours degree in history, with a focus on medieval studies. She is an avid reader of medieval vernacular literature, fairy tales and fantasy novels, and has written over forty romance novels and novellas. She has also been published under the names Claire Cross andClaire Delacroix.
Deborah makes her home in Canada with her husband. When she isn't writing, she can be found knitting, sewing or hunting for vintage patterns.

 Where do you live ?

I live in an old house, which always needs something fixed, with my family and far too much knitting wool.

What inspired you to write this series, and how long has it taken you to write the three books ?

The Dragon Diaries is a paranormal YA trilogy, which is a spin-off from my Dragonfire paranormal romance series. In the Dragonfire world, all of the dragon shape shifters are guys, and there’s only one female dragon shifter at a time. She’s called the Wyvern and has special powers. The Dragon Diaries developed when the current Wyvern in the Dragonfire series died, and instead of having a son, that dragon shifter and his partner had a daughter. They believed that Zoë must be the new Wyvern. The male dragon shifters come into their powers at puberty in the Dragonfire world, so I started to wonder what it would be like to be Zoë coming into her powers as Wyvern. Since the previous Wyvern is dead and was pretty mysterious, there’s no one to give Zoë any tips or advice - or even to explain to her everything she should be able to do. At the same time, the other dragon shifters have high expectations of the Wyvern, especially when they’re confronted with a new enemy. Zoë needs to master her powers, save the dragon shifters and pass math, all while keeping her other life secret from her best friend. As Zoë says “no pressure”.

Do you have a muse ?

I think everybody has a muse. The thing is that muses don’t always show up at the desk on time, so writers need to write even if the muse is otherwise occupied.

Your favorite place to write .

I have an office in my house, which is where I write everything.

How does it feel to be writing the last book in the spin off series. ?

I always have a mix of feelings when finishing up a series. On one hand, it’s exciting to see the story come together and reach its conclusion. Often there are elements I didn’t anticipate before writing the series, and that’s fun. On the other hand, I’ve gotten to know the characters quite well so it’s sad to say goodbye to them.

Do you have pla!ns for a new series ? If so any hints !!

I’m finishing up a few things right now - including Dragonfire - and I still have to decide what to write next.

The hardest part in the path of this series ? Did you find you had writers block ? Any thing that stood in your way ?

I don’t have writers’ block, because I refuse to have it. Writing is a habit and I write every day, at the same time. Writing is my job and my joy, so I give it my attention. I don’t always write the same amount every day, because I might be editing or revising or simply writing new work, but each day, I make steady progress on whatever book I’m writing. What I do find difficult to manage is promotional demands. It would be easy to spend all day using social media or writing blog posts or chatting online - and it’s fun to do those things. I have to make sure that I do my writing first and that I limit the amount of time I spend on promotion.

The idea behind your dragon men ??

My dragon shifters are called the Pyr and they can change into dragons at will. In the Dragonfire world, the good dragons are in the midst of a final battle against the bad dragons (the Slayers) for control of the treasure of the earth. The Pyr consider humans to be among the earth’s treasures to defend, while the Slayers think that humans and Pyr should be eliminated. When a Pyr meets the human woman who can bear his child, he experiences a firestorm - sparks literally fly between the dragon dude and his partner-to-be. Each book in the Dragonfire series focuses on the firestorm of one of the Pyr. The heat of the firestorm can be felt by all of the other dragons, so Slayers tend to attack during a firestorm. The dragon in question needs to defend his mate, while trying to convince her to sleep with him and bear his child. Invariably, the woman takes some persuasion (!) and the pair fall in love. I have a lot of fun writing these books.

Where do you see yourself in 2 years ?

I’ll be writing stories in my office. That’s what I do!

What is your favorite genre to write ? I noticed that your first dragon series is adult and the second YA ?  What did enjoy most about both genres ?

I tend to write romance or mainstream fiction with romantic elements. There is always some romance in my books because I’m interested in relationships and how people make them work. I enjoyed writing the YA series because it had more in common with the mainstream fiction I’d written - it was focused on Zoë and her emotional journey, which also meant that I could use first person POV, one of my favourite tools. I found that Zoë had a strong voice and stronger opinions which made it entertaining to tell her story. I felt as if I was just writing it down.
