Donya Lynne Spotlight post - AKM series & Giveaway

Donya Lynne's Bio:

Donya resides in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband and a small zoo of cats and dogs. In fact, her writing buddy, Lucky, serves as her writing assistant most days, staying right by her side and distracting Donya with her adorable-ness when needed. Because, hey, every author needs a distraction once in a while.

As a little girl, Donya always had a book in her hand. As she got older, the books became pens and notebooks, which she filled with stories and poetry. For as long as she remembers, she has been writing and studying the writing craft with the goal of being published one day. She is passionate about providing readers with what she calls an experience. She wants readers to be able to sink into her stories and escape reality for just a little while, and every word is written, and every sentence structured, with that goal in mind.

Donya loves music and often finds inspiration for her stories in the wide range of music she listens to. But occasionally it's a movie, a book, or just a drive around town that inspires her work. She constantly reads new material, new authors, and different styles of writing as a means to improve her own, and believes the writing process is one an author should always strive to perfect, even though perfecting it is an impossible feat. It's the thrill of the chase and the challenge that keeps her from getting stagnant in her own work.

She has several projects planned and in progress, including eight more novels and two novellas in the All the King's Men series, as well as several stand-alone novels, another series, and several short stories and novellas. She would love to share her journey with you in this exciting venture.

Donnya Lynne's Series to date. Her AKM series.

In the streets of Chicago exists an uneasy, centuries-old truce between vampires and their distant cousins, a race of shifters called drecks.  Vampire enforcement agency, All the King’s Men (AKM), is charged with maintaining the truce, but when volatile enforcer Micah Black loses his mate and falls into the biological agony that results from the broken bond, he tests the boundaries of the truce by seeking out Apostle, a leader in the dreck community.  Micah wants Apostle to kill him, a request Apostle is more than happy to fulfill.

When ex-Army medic Samantha Garrett inadvertently disrupts the plot and saves Micah’s life, a chain reaction sets Micah’s heart on a collision course with Sam’s, but he will have to protect her from Apostle and her obsessive ex-husband, Steve, if they will have a chance at forever.  Can Micah hold his emotions together to keep Sam alive?

Severin was born to be a warrior. Conceived as a mixed-blood when his vampire father raped his dreck mother over two centuries ago, Severin retained the power of iron skin inherent to newborn drecks. However, Sev keeps this secret closely guarded. If it's discovered that inferior dreck blood flows in his vampire veins, it could destroy his life. And to make matters worse, his father suddenly wants to make amends for his transgressions. Sev wants nothing of his father's apology, especially now, as he contends with both an assassin who has marked Sev for blood vengeance and his obsessive attraction to his teammate, Arion.

Arion is the son of King Bain's liaison, Gregos Savakis, who had Ari's course plotted before he was even born. But what Ari's overbearing parents wanted for him wasn't what Arion wanted for himself, and a lifetime spent fighting through one relationship after another with females from all walks of life has left him weary in his search for a mate. After a startling and erotic encounter with Sev, Ari has begun to realize why. He's gay. And now he can't stop thinking about Sev. Arion suddenly realizes he's been forcing himself to be with females because that's what his parents expected. But what he wants is a male, and not just any male. Arion wants Severin.

Can the two overcome the secrets, prejudice, plotting, and the threat on Severin's life to find happily ever after with each other?

Book review - Wicked Allure by Leslie C Ferdenand.

What Does A Man Say to the Woman He Betrayed But Never Stopped Loving?
Three years ago, Zachary Steele refused to entertain thoughts of permanency with any woman. A hedonist at heart, he didn’t want to corrupt the much younger, Madigan DeLeon, by continuing his affair with her. With the hidden scars of his past, he didn’t believe in happily-ever-after. By the time he realized how much Madigan meant to him, he’d driven her away. Then, one night, after being clean for a number of years, Zach briefly falls off the bandwagon. He believes his lovemaking to Madi is a drug-induced hallucination. The resulting consequences tell another story.
What Does A Woman Do When the Only Man She’s Ever Loved Hurt Her So Deeply She Feared She’d Never Recover?
Three years after her affair with Zach so abruptly ended, celebutante, Madigan DeLeon, is thrust back into Zach’s life by her mother’s machinations. Brought home under the false pretenses of repairing her damaged relationship with her mother, Madi instead finds herself running a private sex club called Wicked Allure. Forced to confront her anger at his betrayal and grief at the loss of what might’ve been, Madi faces the realization that she’s never stopped loving Zach.
Can Two Broken Hearts Set Aside Anger and Betrayal to Find True Love Once and For All?
Searching the deepest recesses of their hearts, in a place where pride and pain has no room, Madi and Zach must decide if their bond is strong enough to take a second chance at love. Or if resuming their sexual relationship is an irresistible wicked allure and the ghosts of their former relationship will finally, and forever, sever all ties between them.
** My thoughts **
Wicked Allure is an erotic romance about forgiveness , moving on and second chances.  The things the rich do to stay in the limelight even if the information portrays the rich as flawed and scandalous. A bit of publicity can get them everywhere !
Deceit, betrayal and lies and undying love.
I really enjoyed this story; it’s filled with smoking hot sex scenes, characters rich in character, and a love that defies all obstacles.  Even the ones thrown in the way to stop the love from moving on.
Zac and Madi shared a past – a past that Zac wasn’t all willing to move forward with, after a turn of events, Madi flees and leaves Zac behind and tries to move on..
Three years later her mother draws Madi back, not knowing her mother is up to her old tricks again convinces and   leaves Madi in charge of creating a ** F>>K club**. Zac only agrees on the deal to keep an eye on Madi and hopefully woo her back. Zac knows that he doesn’t deserve Madi after everything -  but he wants to show her that the love they have is made of second chances. Zac works for Madi's mother - her motives Madi is unsure about but in time this all comes out in the wash.
After a hot dream – Zac is drawn to Madi again and vice versa they both think they have had dreams, but after a night of hot passion and love rekindled they both cant stop thinking about each other.
The lovin scenes are smoking hot – the sex they share is smouldering but is there more to the relationship then just hot sex ?  Madi want more – but is Zac willing to give all that it takes to keep the woman he loves including that happily ever after ??

Wicked allure is filled with lots of drama, the drug scenes are very minimal and by no means made me feel like the book was related around this issue.  A few words thrown in here and there - by all means I didn't find offensive but for those who don't like the F... word thrown in for that added extra than the language you may not like.  Me I personally didn't mind, its erotic and the context in which its used blends in within the story.
Being an erotic romance expect lots of steamy bedroom scenes maybe even an office scene thrown in as well. ** waggles eyebrows.**

I enjoyed the characters – Zacs brother was certainly a hotty – he was witty and funny and held a torch for Madi – If it was me I tell you the temptation would be just too great... ** snickers **
Zac was sinfully sexy - there's nothing quiet as sexy as a dominant man who knows what he wants !! He was certainly a love machine and had the sex appeal any reader will enjoy in a steamy erotic romance. Zac came across forward , romantic and smexy as ! Yes smart and sexy in one ** grins ** ohh and rich !!! geesh what a combination !!

This story puts forth and focus's also around the rich and popular. The things the rich do to stay in the limelight even if it may give the public false information. What rich money can buy, and who you can pay to do your dirty work and what money can certainly do for you to benefit.. Even to get revenge ?
The only thing I’d like to have seen more of – would be how the sexy rooms at the new establishment came about – maybe a little tango here and there. We were given general descriptions, but deep down I’d hoped to have seen a little more action. ** Wicked I know **.
Wicked Allure will certainly allure you in, have you reading briskly, your breathe baited and your toes curling. Heartfelt moments where present.
A  mother whom I could’ve bitched slapped; she was one person I didn’t like what so ever. Her motives self-centred and selfish...
Madi was an engrossing character, filled with love and forgiveness and a wonderful natured character. I enjoyed the ending but would love to have seen a little more into that to. ** I know I want so much ** but romance is my all-time favourite genre! The sexy bits just added extra ;)
Be wicked and grab your copy today – its filled with lots of wicked moments, where I'm sure you will be sheepishly grinning and it will  have your pulse a racin...
I rated this book 4/5 .

Because of you - Jessica Scott - Book Review

Contemporary Military Romance
From the war-torn streets of Baghdad to the bittersweet comforts of the home front, two wounded hearts navigate the battlefield of coming home from war in this explosive eBook original from newcomer Jessica Scott.

Keeping his men alive is all that matters to Sergeant First Class Shane Garrison. But meeting Jen St. James the night before his latest deployment makes Shane wonder if there’s more to life than war. He leaves for Iraq remembering a single kiss with a woman he’ll never see again—until a near fatal attack lands him back at home and in her care.

Jen has survived her own brush with death and endured its scars. And yet there’s a fire in Shane that makes Jen forget all about her past. He may be her patient, but when this warrior looks her in the eyes, she feels—for the first time in a long time—like a woman. Shane is too proud to ask for help, but for Jen, caring for him is more than a duty—it’s a need. And as Jen guides Shane through the fires of healing, she finds something she never expected—her deepest desire.

My thoughts .

Because of you is about two souls finding each other - learning to live with the damage that war has brought and also pain of different circumstances. Learning to live, love and move on even though life has not dealt you the cards you wanted. Learning to lean on others for help in your time of need and learning to move on no matter what life has dealt you.

I’m a little in the dark on the military sides of things, having no one close to me deployed or in the military scene I found that Jessica’s descriptions were enough to keep me in the loop.

A well delivered story, with a deep plot, wonderfully crafted characters, with depth and definition, witty characters that will make you smile and chapters that flow smoothly till the last page has been turned.

I read this in one sitting from front page till back and really enjoyed it... It really sucked me in, brought tears to my eyes, and grabbed at my emotions. Jessica has put forth her emotions well, all descriptions easily envisaged and put forth. A military romance - filled with love, hope, friendship, courage, loyalty and learning.

The romance between Shane and Jen was slow and gradual, the love scenes heartfelt and enough for all those who enjoy a little romance in there reads. Id love to have seen more love between Shane and Jen but saying this the story was short where Jessica developed the love and story within the pair.

I enjoyed all the characters much so.... Carponti was my absolute FAVORITE...

Jessica has written the story where we will surely see more of the secondary characters in the next instalment. I look forward to seeing Laura’s story and see where she takes us.

** Because of you ** is a story about friendships and hardships, about letting go , healing and moving forward. It’s about overcoming obstacles that seem unimaginable. A quick heartfelt military romance that will pique your attention from end to finish.

Jessica Scott has delivered a wonderful debut novel here - I will certainly be looking out for more of her future works.

Shattered Illusions  Book Three

Two years ago Kate Bradford met Raffaello D’Onofrio while attending a semester abroad. Rafe ran the family vineyard in the Lazio region of Italy but the thing that attracted her to him most, besides his ruggedly handsome good looks, fathomless deep blue eyes and well-toned body, was his love of art. It was a passion they shared together.

He had been the perfect man as far as she was concerned and in a few short months she fell deeply in love. She had thought that love was returned. Then she found Annalisa De Luca in his apartment wearing nothing but the shirt Rafe had been wearing the evening before. All her illusions were shattered. Distraught and wanting to escape the pain of Rafe’s betrayal, she returned to her home in Chicago, IL.

My thoughts

Raffe and Kate have a past - A past that was shattered by Illusions if you may call it that. Raffe has come back to find out why Kate left him 4 years prior, even if his means,  is selfish he figures he will get some answers. The romance takes off - and they both find themselves yearning for the love they missed out.. Love - betrayl and lies come forth once again..

Anna James has created a wonderfully written romantic story filled with compelling characters.

A short but sweet read, Anna includes all the goodies one could want in a romance story. Smexy moments, great characters and a storyline and plot that will have you reading this story from begining to end in one sitting. I enjoyed all the characters that Anna put forth, Raffe was certainly a hotty !! ** swoon ** lol.. Anna puts forth enough descriptions in her stories for the reader to feel as though they are in the book. I love this in a read, being able to envisage as if it was me . :)

The cover is smokin - Ive really enjoyed this series to date , and also the fact that Anna brought forth the characters from the previous books to give us that extra depth within the characters. Family means everything .

If you after a sweet, short romance, Then this series is for you.

4/5 Heart Throbs.

The other two books in the series..

Book one -  Guilty as Charged

Passion ignites between Nicole Bradford and Max Paradis the second they lay eyes on each another. Nicole seems to be everything that Max is looking for in a woman. She’s sweet and loving and incredibly sexy. But looks can be deceiving. Hadn’t he learned that the hard way?

Nicole is crazy for Max. He is sensitive, caring and his kisses are to die for. But when secrets from her past are revealed will she be found innocent or is she Guilty as Charged.

The second story in the Bradford Sisters Trilogy
Natalie and Reed seemed so happy when they got married just a few short months ago, but an unexpected pregnancy and a subsequent miscarriage throw their marriage into turmoil.

Barker and his minions have taken over the small town of Granite Rock, Utah and the founder’s are in danger of more than just losing their town.
Emily Stewart, one of the founder’s daughter’s goes undercover trying to destroy the threat that has taken over. But Barker begins to suspect her and closes in.
That’s when J.C., the mystical ghost leader calls me in—however, I’m no ordinary ghost. I’m brave. I’m strong…. But I’m a little crazy and I have my own demons to conquer. I don’t know there are worse things than my voices—demons of the mind.

Even my betrayed past, my inability to trust is nothing compared to what is residing in Granite Rock. These are demons you can slather with jelly and they will still taste foul.
I am about to find there are things… things that go slithery-kerthumpity bump in the night and things that suck your soul dry during the day.
And there is also the girl, Emily, who needs my help. For her I will do anything, stand up to anything, brave anything.
So, again and again I try to defeat the evil Barker but he’s a demon and he seems to be able to best even a ghost. Can I learn to trust? Should I let my own demons take over my mind to save Emily, the founder’s, and the town? And will my demons release me when it’s over?

My thoughts ...

Demons of Granite rock is an intense thriller that will keep you intrigued - a thriller – horror, good vs. evil... A means to and end if you may call it that... Mark is a ghost – his job Granite rock Utah, a small town in the middle of the sticks now overrun by a mentally unstable cult and possessed by the evil that dwells. The innocent citizens are being killed off one by one. We follow Mark’s life as a ghost – his job to fix the community along with the rift that has torn the sisters who founded the small town apart. .

Demons of Granite rock is a great page turner with lots of action and kick arse scenes. A vivid array of things that go bump in the night.  Love and betrayal and the survival within, trust issues and moving on...

Mark is kick arse, brave and strong, but his past may just hold him back - will his past come back to haunt him in more than one way... I enjoyed his character, even has a ghost he had appeal ;)
The romance between the characters was evident , ;) and at times smokin ..  I must say even in a suspenseful thriller – I love to see a little loving – and Kara gave us that!

Kara has a great debut novel here, for all who enjoy Stephen king = Demons of Granite rock will suit you perfectly.  It will have your gut churning and not only your insides squirming but have you turned upside down and inside out lol ... If you’re not use to reading a thriller of this kind ((like me)) it will certainly make you feel like you have creepy things crawling over you loll.   It will keep you intrigued from the beginning to see where Mark takes us and to see what is taking over Granite rock.  The cover is mysterious alone and this novel well over 450 pages long is worth every cent at only -99 cents via amazon!!

The only reason for my 3-5 star review is that this kind of story is not normally a genre I would read. So Ive given it a 4 .. :) over at amazon and goodreads cause I think its def worth more than 3 !!!!!  I KNOW !! LOL.  It was well put forth and an interesting storyline. It certainly intrigued me enough to read the whole book and enjoy it ! I will be keeping an eye on Kara's works in the near future.

Bad Girl Lessons - Seraphina Donavon Review & Book Tour

Welcome to the Book Tour for Bad Girl Lessons - by Seraphina Donavon .... Please find as follows book cover - blurb and my Review !!!

Bad Girl Lessons

Evangeline Harper has been everyone's good girl. But after being dumped at the altar by her fiancé, Evie decides it's time to stop playing by the rules and have some fun. There's only one problem... she doesn't know how. But one of her oldest friends, Jackson Cope, is just the man to teach her. Hotter than a Georgia tent revival in July, Jackson has had a starring role in every erotic fantasy Evie has ever had. Can she convince the local bad boy to help transform her from a slightly pudgy, former debutante into a wanton, sex kitten?

Jackson's been secretly in love with Evie since they were kids, but she was always off limits to the likes of him. Now she's offering him everything he's ever wanted, but only as friends with benefits. Planning to seduce her into his life on a permanent basis, he starts out with hot, steamy lessons on how to walk on the wild side. When Evie's former fiancé shows up, trying to woo her and her trust fund back to save his sorry hide from the Dixie Mafia, it's up to Jackson to protect her from danger. But who will protect him from a broken heart?
MY THOUGHTS !!!!!! I want some lessons of my own !!!! ** snickers **
After reading the blurb I wasn’t sure what to expect -  but after finishing this story, I certainly got more than I bargained for... I loved it!! Giggled – awed, gasped and may have even had a tingle or two...
Evie was left at the alter – jilted – alone... She decides after being good for so long it was time to put that all aside and she hits on the town bad boy Jackson Cope.  This was Jackson’s fantasy come true – bad girl lessons to a girl his heart and loins had throbbed for years..
Jackson takes Evie on a lesson by lesson and step by step how to be a bad girl... First up – how to take your punishment!! OH MY!!! I  was as excited as Evie I think for this one lol.
Jackson Cope – takes Evie on a world of discovery – to heights she has never been to,
and also gives Evie the self-confidence she has never had. Mind blowing sex, and feelings she has never felt before. She even becomes quiet the dare devil and loves it... *( snickers ) *  Jackson Cope was sexy as sin !!!
Evie and Jackson’s relationship was like yin and yang they fit so perfectly together and this was all well-defined and put forth in the story. All emotions were well  portrayed  and described.  However Jackson is concerned that this friends with benefits may only just be that – he has always had feelings for Evie .
Yes this is a short erotic novella – but the storyline put forth gives it more than just hot sex, it’s a  well scripted  - intergrading all aspects  within the storyline to produce a fluent flowing script and well outlined plot. Dialogue all flowed smoothly.

Bad Girl Lessons will have you sheepishly grinning, your panties bunching. Certain  moments you may  also be slightly irked at Evie’s  mothers attitude. Whilst her father was there for her, her mother was the absolute opposite.
Suspense was well detailed and Seraphina has conveyed this well.
I’m sure you will enjoy all the characters. A best friend any girl could want, an ex for that exact reason and even the evil villains put forth were exactly that.
A great suspenseful erotic short read.

5/5  hot Suckers for this book !!!!!

Rise of the Fallen - Donya Lynne Book Review & Giveaway !

Welcome all to the Blog Tour for Rise of the Fallen by Donya Lynne .. Big thanks to PIMPIN READS - JOWANNA  for hosting this tour !! Today I have for you the hot smokin cover for this book - blurb and my Thoughts !!

Can Micah hold his emotions together to keep Sam alive.

My thoughts ...

Rise of the Fallen a certainly intriguing story title and believe me when I say an even better plot. ((I love the cover and being a cover love kinda girl this certainly does it for me) Micah is on the front cover - he is certainly smokin - and exaclty how one would invisage him after Donya Lynne's descriptions throughout this story.
Micah Black  is a vampire - working for the AKM * All the Kings men ** He is the loner of the group, doing as he pleases and disobeying any rules set forth. He is certainly the strongest of his group, kickarse  and sexy all in one story but keeps to himself alot. But does his job well.
The Akm enforce and protect from the evil that dwells, paranormal enforcers if you may call them that. Between the Dreck and Vampires. Enforcing the Truce set forth.
Upon Micha's Mate leaving him, Micah finds himself not wanting to live any longer. The bond is broken and so is his heart.   He approaches the Dreck - wants to leave this world inflicted by pain.
Sam enters Micah’s world, kick arse, strong and certainly head strong, she not only saves Micah’s life but brings him back to life. Physically and emotionally. She certainly breathes fresh air back into Micha's life. They are two souls that both need saving . But at what cost - upon Sam saving Micha's life she now has enemies of another kind.
On a whirlwind of events, Sam’s ex-husband is on the hunt for her and also her new enemies they both want her - one to punish her and one to kill her. Is Micah able to keep his emotions at bay to keep her alive and protect her?

Well I must say I will never bore of a new vampire tale, Rise of the Fallen will have you intrigued from page one till the very end. I read the first four chapters for free via goodreads and was certainly intrigued to read more ..

Donya has written a storyline that will keep the readers interest piqued throughout. Changes to the vampire traits we normally see, and a  storyline  that is unique.  Witches ............ vampires ..... creating a different form of vampire - ** won’t say too much here ** and Drecks...... ((You must read to find out)) snickers - Im very curious as to Trace's part in this - we have been given a slight hint into Trace and I can see some excitement dwelling within this for other books to follow.
This book has slight traces of BDSM ** which I’m sure will not only rattle your chains but have your breathe hitched. Maybe even PANTING .....  This scene is not for everyone - but keep in mind its very mild and  exciting all the same.
M/M moments as well and erotic encounters of many kinds. If you after something with heat then this read is for you. Micha and Sam are certainly a match made between the sheets, hot smoking scenes that will not only leave you wanting more but panting past the pages that have been turned. Your reader will be in a frenzy !
This story has a well-balanced amount of everything - from hot sex,to  passion  that will singe your eyelashes ,love,  new found friendships,   action, paranormal elements and even a giggle thrown in for good measure. They say every dog has his day and that doctor certainly doesnt see it coming.. ** Soft cock is the  certainly an appropriate word for him ** snickers!!
At only 125 pages long, Rise of the Fallen is a quick read but certainly filled with all the goodies any parnanormal reader will enjoy.
A fantastic debut novel by Donya Lynne, smooth flowing storyline, characters I’m sure you will enjoy and also the evil is put forth well and depicted fluently. Many a scenes envisaged will have your panties bunching and mind a wandering .....

New characters have been introduced throughout making room for more in further books to come. I must say that Trace has me intrigued... ** blushes ** He is needing a little help and I’m wandering maybe which person is the one to do so!!  Friendships are found - and I can see Micha and Trace builidng a strong friendship in stories to come.
All the Kings Men are alluring , sexy and certainly a puzzle. Each and every one having there own personal stories to tell and  Im sure Donya Lynne will keep us on our toes - tanatlizing us in book 2 ..

I give this book 4 /5

I asked Donya Lynn - What inspired her  to write the AKM series?

I am reminded of the quote in Under the Tuscan Sun, when Frances says, “Any arbitrary turning along the way and I would be elsewhere; I would be different.”

Bear with me for a moment while I explain:

In July, 2010, I lost my job, and no amount of job searching and training for a new one helped me find one. But for as long as I can remember, I've been writing. And for years I had said that when all the debt was paid off, I would quit my job and write novels.

I had been studying to be a published author for years, working with instructors who were published who helped me hone my skills. I had read countless books and written countless assignments for my classes. This was what I wanted to do, and I wanted to do it right, but not until I could financially quit my job. So, I spent countless hours preparing over several years' time. Well, Fate made my decision for me, so to speak. Maybe the debt wasn't paid off, yet, but I didn't have a job, anymore, and couldn't find another one, so no better time than the present to put all that I'd learned into practice, right?

Only one problem: I had pretty much lost my identity after losing my job, and I sank into a mild depression. I would cry for weeks at a time. I was miserable and had no idea what I was supposed to do. I still believed I had to find a "real job." I didn't have the confidence, yet, to put my stories out there.

As time went on, I got involved in writing circles on Facebook and did some role playing and made a lot of new friends. This brought me happiness while I was suffering to find myself again. I just kept finding myself being led back to writing every time I turned around. So I started creating some characters and goofing off with them on Facebook. One character was Micah Black, and he developed quite a huge fan following.

Micah was extremely dark and dangerous, scary even, but sexy, and he was severely tragic. People seemed to love that about him. And the more I goofed off with him, the more it became clear he had a story to tell. Fan reaction convinced me that readers were ready for darker fantasy pieces like the one I was creating with Micah, so I ran with it.

Micah and I shared some commonalities, too. He was depressed, I was depressed. He felt his life was a living hell, I thought my life was a living hell. He felt desperately alone and lost, I felt desperately alone and lost. So, our adventure together began. And little by little, Micah's story began to unfold, as did mine. His life and his world began to come together at the same time mine did. Writing Micah became cathartic for me. We were in this together.

And we weren't alone, because it became clear early on that Micah was surrounded by a whole team of vampires who were just as damaged and tortured as he was. These other characters all began speaking to me, wanting me to tell their stories and solve their problems the way I was helping Micah solve his.

I sat back and looked at all these characters, wondering, What am I supposed to do with all of you? This is Micah's story, not yours. You see, Rise of the Fallen was supposed to be a stand-alone. When I started that story, that's how it was supposed to be. One character, one story. But suddenly I had all these other characters who wanted a piece of the action. Consequently, I had a series on my hands.

And that's how All the King's Men was born.

This past January, a year-and-a-half after losing my job, I got a call about a group interview a recruiter wanted me to attend. I actually had a physical reaction to the idea of going on this interview. My entire body seized up. I began crying uncontrollably. I felt sick to my stomach. My body was telling me that I wasn't meant for corporate America, anymore. That day, despite not being a very religious person, I asked God for a sign about what I should do: go on the interview or write? And I asked Him to make it an obvious one. One that I couldn't miss even if I was blind, deaf, and dumb. I received six. Decision made. It was time to become the author I was meant to be. I want AKM to be my breakout series, and I want to write books for the rest of my life.

But if I hadn't gone through all the pain and struggles I've dealt with since losing my job (and there were plenty of both, I can assure you), I wouldn't be here now. So, really, it wasn't so much an inspiration that made me create AKM as it was an absolute compulsion and a divinely written creed that I had to create it. Not just for me, but for Micah and all the other characters who have come along since I typed that first word of his story. Micah really is the leader of the AKM world, and he didn't give me a choice in the matter. He made it clear that I had to write all the stories for everyone in his world. And for that, I love him. Every writer should have a character like Micah. J Because really, HE is the inspiration.

Jamie Magee - SEE blog Tour, Giveaway & Review

SEE - by Jamie Magee (back cover summary)
Forgetting who you are, your ambitions, your love is crippling….but remembering – embracing your purpose with a new sense of determination is more than empowering….its life altering. Charlie Myers is on a life altering path that will cause the damned to humble in silence…

One night…just a few friends how could it go so wrong? That was the question seventeen year old Charlie Myers was asking when she found herself in the ER. Outwardly nothing was wrong with Charlie, she was a vision of perfect heath, internally she was battling a raging headache…one the doctor told her she would overcome shortly, but Charlie knew something else was wrong …very wrong.

Part of her had been stolen….she was missing memories. Those memories were sacred. They held the key to her sanity. They told her that the sinister whispers, the shadows that came to life before her were not as ominous as she felt they were. They held the bond with her late father, a famed musician. They caused her to forget the one talent that allowed her to face the darkness that haunted her every waking hour. They also masked a much deeper bond, the face of the one that had stolen her heart, long before the age of seventeen.

Sitting in the ER with her angry mother she couldn’t figure out what she missing – or even how. Her thoughts told her that she needed to protect Britain, a friend of hers, but that didn’t make any sense – Britain didn’t need to be protected from anyone, he was strong, young, and absurdly wealthy. Charlie also knew that even though her friend Bianca called Charlie her best friend that she didn’t trust her ….she was almost sure she despised her, but she couldn’t figure out why – or understand how random thoughts were telling her that she adored both Britain and Bianca – that they were her saviors – that they brought silence to the unstoppable whispers….but the silence scared Charlie. In her mind anyone or anything that could bring silence to something that dark could not be good.

Charlie wanted to stay in NY, figure out what she was missing, why, and who was behind it all, but her mother had other plans. Against her will, Charlie was sent to Salem to live with her sister….within that small town Charlie found her memories….and so much more...

Jamie has started See off , having us all in wander as to what has happened to Charlie and why she cant remember.  We know she has been given something that has affected her memory, what she must do now is remember.. She is sent home to Salem to live with her sister and regain her memories.

Jamie has Given the reader dribs and drabs into what  is happening. Unsure - Charlie goes home to a life she is unsure about - whom she can trust - and talk to and her memories are almost non existant from that night.

Jamie has us hooked from the very first page, wandering in which direction she will go - the storyline and the characters also giving the reader qulams about whom we can really trust.. and whom does she really know.. No really answers are truly put forth for Charlie she is certainly on a road of discovery. She is sent back home to help her recovery... But what will Charlie find out and is there more than meets the eye ?

Here she meets Draven- for some reason she knows she can trust him. He tells her she must @See ... he is compassionate and forth coming, and someone whom Charlie can easily let into her life. Jamie has put forth all emotions well between the pair = to  give us that chemistry we all love to see ;)  Draven was such a sweety <3

Music is Charlies saviour - it keeps  away the whispers... This alone had me intrigued throughout... Who are they - why do they follow her and the music seems to qwell the noise.  Jamie has certainly created a unique and fascinating storyline with this story and Im sure the reader will enjoy this alone. Its always great to pick up a story we have not read before - that involves something different ;)

See comes across as dark storyline from the beginning, the whispers and the not knowing is the hard part for Charlie as well as me being the reader, we truly don’t know what is really happening till towards the end of this book, as things start to fall in place and the end of the tunnel brings a certain light, but also a fog that has not quiet lifted.

The characters where easily likeable, hotties for us to swoon over  ** Draven ** he was charming -  mysterioulsy hot !!!! and also intriguing.  As the story progress so does the mystery unravel, including the parts the characters play in this story.

Many emotions are portrayed within in See, Jamie grasps this well and puts forth a storyline that will not only pique your interest but have you curious as to where book two and Charlie is now headed.

Music played an important role throughout **SEE** - giving Charlie that calm she needed at the best of times, ties in her past , and also her future ??

I look forward to book two to see where Jamie takes us next ~`

My facvourite quote from this book.

**Most creative people see the world differently than others: they see what's yet to come .**

This is how I define authors, after I have read,, they create there words, then leave us with what s to come ;)
