The Childe Blog Tour - Book review *The Childe* by C A Kunz ** and maybe win a Kindle fire and goodies **

Welcome to the Childe Blog Tour !! Today I have for you Book Review for The Childe . Below also are the details on how you could win your very own Kindle fire !!! Also, there will be a chance to win a paperback copy of The Childe and a swag pack. Keep reading to find out more!!!

Cat Colvin
Average Teenager?
Or Something Else Entirely?

Cat Colvin is pretty much your typical run-of-the-mill teenager. Sure, she’s taller than most girls, has a mane of fiery red hair that’s impossible to tame, is left-handed, and her eyes are two different colors, but that’s where the differences end... unless you include the minor detail of her slow transformation into a Childe.

High school can definitely be challenging, and for Cat it’s no different. This is especially true when she’s faced with the daunting task of trying to hide her budding Childe traits as they begin to reveal themselves at the most inopportune times. To make matters worse, her family is oddly dead set against Ryan, the boy she grows to like. But everyone has their secrets: is Ryan really what he seems to be, and what is Cat’s family not telling her?

The Childe is the first book in this coming-of-age fantasy series which follows Cat's life through the twists and turns toward finding out whom and what she really is. Come and take the plunge with Cat into a world filled with mystery, biting humor, and the paranormal.

My thoughts !!!  Review.. 4/5 ;)

The Childe is definitely a mix of everything one could want in a Ya Paranormal. A well written, story, with a smooth flowing storyline that will not only have you reader in a frenzy but have you friskily reading right till the very end. Why – because you will want to know what *The Childe * is and why – who – what – where and why !!! Your intrigued right !!

The descriptions put forth are well described, easily envisaged and even the emotions have left nothing but for our imagination to run forth, feel what the characters feel and see what they see. The storyline is filled with twists, and turns , evil – that dwells , mystery, a little bit of love and attraction and I’m sure this story will keep the reader guessing from page one till the very end.
While The authors have fed us bread crumbs along the way ;) filling us up little by little... a lot of the mystery of ** The Childe** is – put forth, we have gotten answers but still a lot still to come. Leaving me the reader, eager and willing to most certainly run out and grab the next book.

Characters have been created with spunk – depth and certainly definition, all having their own personalities, ones that you can laugh with, cry with and also want to kick there booties.
The normal high school antics that become about are added in this story – we always seem to have a high school bully, a popular girl the not so popular girl all very realistic in life... I really enjoyed that this was put forth , even though it was a paranormal storyline I’m sure most of our teenagers feel that they are slightly different from the others lol. ((Honestly I’ve always known I was a vampire – don’t sleep at night and what not else…)) if you get my point ** grins **

Carol and Adam Kunz have grasped their own concepts in this story - creating new ones and adding in their own mysteries into their paranormal world – definably stirring an interest with their novel, spinning a tale that both the adult and ya readers will certainly enjoy! Something different is always great!

The Childe does not revolve around this world completely but weaving a story that will certainly have readers talking way past the last words. Cat is the centre of the story – she is strong, kind, caring but also has spunk and is sassy! I completely enjoyed her; throughout the book she was very realistic. The story is told from different pov’s but mainly the story relates around Cat’s life adding in all the characters that all are well placed throughout this story !

I’m going to leave this review spoiler free, because I want you to wander ** what – is The Childe ;) Go grab your copy today… and be warned you will want book two to find out more!

Be warned this book will keep you guessing from the very first page, and leave questions unanswered - but lucky for us .. there are more books to come ;) If you enjoy a treasure hunt then this book is certainly for you .

This Or That: Cat Colvin

Vampire or werewolf?

Vampire of course! So love Robert Craven’s novels, movies, and Bartholomew Drake is such a hottie vampire.

Pink or Fuschia?

I’m more of a yellow lover, but if I had to pick I’d pick light pink because it’s the color of my favorite bath robe. Plus that pink goes great with my hair color.

Cotton candy or hot dogs?

Hot dogs with ketchup only. Cotton candy is okay in small doses, but it’s way too sweet.

.

Math or English?

Soooo easy, English of course. First of all I don’t like my math teacher Mr. Creepy Crawley, and if I enjoyed math then I wouldn’t need a math tutor, would I?

Jumper or Hoodie?

Definitely a hoodie. I’ve got a closet full of them and wear them all the time. Astoria doesn’t get very hot, even during the summer, so a hoodie is a must!

Hair up or down?

Down please. I could never get this heavy mess of curls to stay up?

Cats or dogs?

I like both but I love cats more.  Jewels, the cat that visits me, is so intelligent. She seems to know when I need her and I love it when she comes to visit.

Paperback or E-book?

I so love my paperback books. I need to hold the book in my hand and turn the pages. I know it’s not the norm for people my age, but I’m already different in so many ways, why change now?

Fiction or reality?

Fiction. I love getting caught up in the fantasy world that Robert Craven writes. He actually makes you believe that there really are vampires and werewolves and they’re not just myths.

Dark or light?

Light, because it rains a lot in Astoria so we don’t see much sunshine. I only like the dark when there’s a full moon, no clouds, and my world is lit up wonderfully.

Night or day?

Day, because I get to spend time with my friends. Nighttime is okay too, because when it’s not raining I sit on my balcony and watch the stars in the night sky.

Coke or Pepsi?

Coke, Pepsi’s way too sweet.

Lollies or chocolate?

Chocolate, especially Cadbury’s. My uncle Aldon brings me ‘sweets’, or candy as we call it here, all the time when he goes to the England.

Walk or ride?

I like to ride, especially now that I’ve got my license and don’t have to be chauffeured around by Taylor or my parents.

Dance or spectator?

Dance. Recently I’ve grown to love slow dancing with a certain someone.

Flying or driving?

Driving, especially in my awesome Jeep, way cool.

Imagination or truth?

I love getting lost in my imagination. Truth is good an all, but life would be boring without imagination.

Glitter or plain?

Plain, I’m already different as it is, I don’t need to add to it.  Come on, I’ve got fiery, unruly red hair, I’m left-handed, pale as a vampire, and I have two different colored eyes. I mean really, glitter would just make me stand out more.

Heels or joggers?

Joggers. I forgot one other item for the last this or that question. I’m freakin’ tall too. I’m taller than most girls my age and a good number of guys too.

Shy or outgoing?

I guess I’m outgoing. I tend to speak my mind, not as well as my friend Amanda though, but not as shy as poor Elle.

Straight or curls?

Straight hair PLEASE. Look at this curly mess on my head. So envious of Julie, Amanda, and Elle with their straight hair.

Mexican or Italian ( food )?

We don’t have a Mexican restaurant in town, but my mom makes a mean taco. I also like her lasagna too though, oh and there’s always pizza. So I guess I like Italian a touch more then.

Pizza or pasta?

Pizza! It’s the official food of our movie nights. I mean who doesn’t like a gooey, cheesy slice of heaven.

Fast or slow?

Hmmmmm, slow when driving my Jeep, hey my mom and dad might see this. Fast is how I like the day at school to go, especially Mr. Crawley’s class. He’s a MONSTER in a nerd disguise.

Desktop or laptop?

Laptop. I like to be mobile and not chained to the desk in my room.

Ipod or cd player?

My Ipod. I’ve got ALL my songs on there and no now there’s no need to carry around a clunky cd player.

Funk or classic?

Funk.  My old school, Madison prep, played classical music all the time and though I like it, it got old.

Beetle or Ferrari?

My Jeep. But if I had to choose between a Ferrari or a Beetle, it would be the Beetle. I love those little cars and they are so cute.

Id like to thank Cat for joing us today !! Id like to hope we shall see you again here at Page Flipperz after we have read Dark Day s!!

Calling Home by Zee Monodee Book Review

Today I have *Calling Home ** book one in Zee Mondoee's Destiny's Child series. Check out the gorgus cover and the blurb and my review ! For all those who enjoy a good love story filled with all the goodies then this read is for you !

It's the little things that keep people calling home...

Forensic pathologist Margo Nolan is described by colleagues as a cold, unemotional man hiding inside a woman's body. Clinical and rational, the Ice Queen persona is only a facade to protect herself after she lost the only thing she ever longed for: Emma, the daughter she was raising as her own.

When tragedy strikes Emma's life, Margo is the only one who can step in . . . to become the stand-in parent to the 11-year old! Clueless about children—especially tweens, family life, and anything that should involve her heart, Margo is at a loss.

But she need not worry: sexy and easygoing, and much younger, village doctor Jamie Gillespie is here to help the heart-thawing process.

My thoughts - Review

Calling home is a wonderfully written love story, about hope, trust, love and change and a place to call home.

Zee has created a wonderfully compelling storyline that will suck you in from within the first pages, you will find yourself at the end sighing and sheepishly grinning. The storyline is fluent flowing and will have you reading till the very last pages and wandering where the hours have gone. Im a sucker for a well balanced love story and Calling Home is certainly this.

Margo becomes a parent to Emma a 11 year old Teen she is to be her guardian. Margo never being close to anyone ,yet alone being someone’s mother is unsure how to do so.. She has loved Emma since the day she was born. Loving and caring for her in her younger years - her best friend dies and Emma was left at the cluthces of her grandmother out of spite. Now Emma's grandmother has died and Margo now has a responsibility to more than just herself. Working as a Forensic pathologist Margo tends to spend every waking moment working - her new calling is somewhat of a big change in her life but she wants to be a great mum to Emma and will try her best doing so.

Handling a child let alone a Teenager is one of the hardest things that Margo has ever had to do. Discovering a mothers love, learning to be there and open her heart not only to her daughter but to others Margo's ice queen exterior is just a front.

Sexy Village Doctor Jamie lives next door and in Margo's time of need Jamie seems to be her constant Knight in shining armour. But Margo puts up her cold front, not letting herself get close in fear of not being able to make someone happy. Never once thinking mabye its time to thaw out that icey exterior and let someone in.

The past comes back into Emma's life, causing friction between Margo and Jamie, Jamie feeling that something is wrong with the situation but Margo giving the benefit of the doubt finds herself in deeper than she imagined , she is turning away the ones whom want to love her .

A love story filled with passion and sexual tension, enough Chemistry to blow any chem lab in the near vicinity and wonderfully created characters with definition and depth. Zee has put forth all emotions wonderfully, I can assure you will be sheepishly grinning one minute and maybe even teary eyed the next. Your heart will be racing and your eyes will be a fluttering.. The Sexy doctor is ** swoony **.

Calling home will pull at your heart strings and leave you starry eyed. For all those who love a wonderfully plotted romance with a little sexual tension, passion that’s magnetic and even mystery then this read is for you!
