Interim Blue - Alexia Purdy Book Review

Today I have book one * Interim Blue *  in Alexia Purdy's new series * The Teleen Trilogy * .. An intriguing storyline .. and for all those who enjoy a story with a little magic, mayhem and Fae ..

Here is the book cover  and blurb and my thoughts.

Shade is just trying to graduate high school. Just another ordinary teenager with some quirky talents. One day, the bothersome voices she sometimes hears in her head bring her to a chance meeting with a powerful faerie warrior named Jack. He wields electrical currents and blue fires along his skin. Joining him, she enters the mysterious, frightening and magical world of Faerie, where nothing is what it really seems to be.
Shade is selected by the Seelie Queen to fulfill a quest to obtain a liquid magic that could aid the Guildrin Court of Faeries in an ongoing war against the evil Unseelie Queen and her treacherous Lonares soldiers. Around every corner and across breathtaking landscapes of the world of Faerie that exists alongside our ever so mundane world, Shade grows along with her magic and meets some of the most powerful warriors Faerie has to offer. Shade battles evil dryads, conniving Teleen guards and challenges on her life with every step. In a world where nothing is taken for granted or underestimated, Shade discovers that she might not be as weak as she or others may have perceived.

My Thoughts !!

I'm not normally one to read books on Faeries but I must say this one had me intrigued from page one till the end. Its filled with mystery, action and magic and a compelling storyline that I read in one sitting.

Steady paced storyline, with a great cast of supporting characters, chapters that flowed smoothly and an intriguing plot. I enjoyed the determination of the main characters, her life was not as it seemed. She always thought she was different and upon meeting Jack her life was thrown into a world she never thought existed.

Shade always new something was different - the voices within, had no real meaning until she met Jack. Upon Jack discovering Shade and her hearing voices, he takes her back to his world where Shade is told she is the key to saving his land. Here Shade discovers she is Part Fae - but Shade is in denial.

Feeling somewhat pressured yet compelled to help, Shade embarks on a trip to the fountain to obtain the liquid that will save this land of Fae and stop the wars within.

Twists and turns are thrown at Shade and along her travels, she is introduced to many - some evil, some good, she learns to embrace what she has within. Shade discovers her blood lines, and along the way she also discovers how to use the magic within.

This is just the beginning of an intriguing series, I alone rated it on Alexia's compelling storyline. As I have not read many books on Faeries I really enjoyed it. The addition of the Teleen line was certainly a treat and the fact that Shade was immune to it even more so.. Interim blue is filled with action, adventure, mystery, magic and mayhem and I'm sure for all the readers out there who enjoy Faeries then this is for you..

I eagerly await book 2 to see where Shade and Dylans relationship goes, I'm hoping that we see a little more depth into the characters, and the connection between the worlds = will Shade return home to normal teenage life ?

Storm Born - Volume one Comic

Eugenie Markham never asked for any of this. Until now, she's been content with her job as a freelance shaman, battling and banishing Otherworldly creatures. When a prophecy suddenly makes her the Otherworld's most popular bachelorette, Eugenie finds herself fighting off unwanted supernatural suitors, as well as the evils that begin emerging from her past...

My Thoughts.

When I initially received an email from Sea Lion Books to review Richelle Mead's graphic novel I must say I was very excited !! Id heard about the books from friends overseas and I was more than willing to read and review !! Being a fan of Richelle's books I was IN !!!!

This is the review for Issue one of the Books... Not the four in one coming out soon.

Not having read a graphic novel before I must say I was blown away at the graphics, the colours and the fantastic depiction of the characters. The artist did a fantastic job, of creating the characters, colouring and expressions and portraying Eugenie as the kick arse, strong yet humourous character she was.

Not knowing what to expect it was truly a treat .

In this issue Eugenie fights supernatural beings, there are some sexy, hot scenes, ** waggles eyebrows* and some more series issues and tough thoughts and decisions for Eugenie to make and consider !!

An action packed comic, filled with a vast array of colours, graphics and illustrations that are just AMAZING, such details - well created and put forth. Once again the colours alone will have
you in awe !

A 36 page comic originally taken from Richelle Mead's *Dark Swan* series, its not a requirement that you need to read these stories to get it !!! Im sure you will enjoy the storyline, the way in which it flows smoothly and the graphics alone will have your eyes glazing over the pages.

Definelty action packed !!

Sea Lions did a fantastic job creating this novel, for all those who like the graphic novels this is for you. The drawings, colours and storyline stood out like a neon light , bright, bold and well depicted - a must read for all Richelle Mead fans and anyone who loves a good grahpic novel !!

A TREAT TODAY THE FIRST SIX PAGES FROM STORM BORN GRAPHIC NOVEL ONE.
