My One True Love by Stephanie Taylor *Book review*

Love or Commitment, ask yourself which you would choose?  That carrot diamond ring, or a ring, the one you loved worked, and sweated 12 months for  to buy you?  A commitment that led you, to  lead the career you wanted, live in a busy city, to be surrounded by someone you care for deeply or someone that left that mark on your heart? My One True Love is a Romance filled with passion and an undying love that span over 7 years. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but when your one true love has never left your heart, what does this mean?

I was lucky enough to have been given Stephanie's book * My One True Love * to review.. and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Being a true romantic at heart- despite the fact that my other half is not, I love to delve into mushy romances that makes my toes curl, and my heart flutter, to be left with a sigh or pure contentment.

Book Blurb

Love or contentment. What would you choose?

Seven years ago, Liz Henley left her fiancé without a backward glance to live a bigger life anywhere but in Oakley. Now she's back, with a new fiancé, ready to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day in the town she grew up in. But one thing stands in her way: her first true love, Jason Kenyon.

Jason Kenyon has never really gotten over Liz, but he doesn't let that stop him from being the best park ranger he can be. When he sees the body of a female go sailing past him during an avalanche, he doesn't think twice about trying to rescue her. It isn't until they're both back at Jason's cabin that he realizes the body is none other than his almost-wife, Liz.

Torn between his love for Liz and his duty to return her, Jason has to make a decision. Does he take her back to her new fiancé or fight with all his might to get back the woman he never stopped loving?

Review -
Liz moved away 7 years ago to fulfill her dreams, her career, and a life she thought she wanted. She was determined to not be like her mum , not to be miserable in the small town of Oakley and let her life waste away. Liz has returned to Oakley to marry, she heads up into the mountains to clear her head, and evaluate her life further, forget Jason and move on or come to terms with her true hearts desires.  Everything does not go as planned Liz is  bombarded by an avalanche and swept into the arms of her ex-fiance..

Jason Kenyon is everything that Liz always wanted, she loved him, but was not willing to give up her life for him to be stuck in Oakley not achieving her goals in life.  Fate has lead them back to each other, will their destiny be filled or bring more heartache?

Jason Kenyon is a lumberjack whilst chopping wood hears the oncoming cracks of snow and ice and finds  the nearest tree clinging for life during the avalanche. Hoping down from his safety he  discovers a body amongst the snow, his instincts tell him to save her, he carries her back to his log cabin and then realizes this woman he has saved, is the Love of his life  - Liz.  Liz had left Jason broken hearted  one night 7 years ago with  no note, no excuses , no reasons for leaving. This is where the turmoil begins. He has questioned he wants answered...

In an unconscious confession, Liz in her feverish state after knocking her head, confesses her undying love for Jason. Jason  being bull headed and arrogant, fuels Liz's fire by provoking her and toying with her, really deep down inside hoping this is their chance at love again. The sparks and passion are still strong   between them but whether or not Liz will let her true feelings show, will determine both their fates with love.

Oh my,,, ** heart fluttering ** this was one Romantic , lovey dovey story... yes I am a romantic at heart, I really enjoy a great love story filled with such passion for each other it would melt the ice tips of Mount Everest !!! or the glaciers at Antarctica..

The passion, and love between Liz and Jason was sensual and loving. At times, a love to hate relationship, Liz bull headed, stubborn and selfish in her ways and Jason being able to turn Liz from a Lamb into a Lion *(Quote from book ) in seconds. Jason was your ideal ** swoon ** hotty  material - tall , muscular and handsome guy  even with the goat appearance- facial hair, (( grins )) his spunk and humour was mesmerizing. He knew how to stir Liz up and also how to fuel her fire, leave her feeling cranky one minute and in love the next.

The story was filled with heartfelt memories and moments, love and companionship, love that didn't wilter over time. This part I really liked, the fact that money cant buy love, or happiness only your One True love can truly make you happy.

The storyline was fluent, chapters flowed freely and storyline  intriguing, never a lull moment, being only a short read it was filled with all the goodies you need for a good quick love story.
One that leaves  you feeling warm and fuzzy and happy with the overall ending. The scenery and log cabins, the snow and the fire , I could envisage curled up on the lounge with *The one you love * what better way to read a story or live it.. The emotions portrayed in this book, were sensual and loving, even funny moments that made you giggle. All very  fluent,  and I found that Stephanie was to Able to express oneself readily and effortlessly. This reflecting in her words.

Overall, a wonderful short read, for a cold winters night, hot cocoa in hand and wrapped in the arms of the one you love.. or to enjoy !!! Just because your like me and love a good Romance ..

As far as the lovey dovey factor goes this I give a hot five star rating !!!

Book Review Wayward Soul by Kim Bowman

I had the pleasure of Receiving Wayward Soul by Kim Bowman for review and I must say, I really enjoyed the unique storyline that Kim has put forward. The aspects of the storyline very intriguing and captivating. Something different out their, then what is currently being shelved, this aspect of the  storyline I enjoyed ! The cover caught my eye !! Being a cover love Kinda girl !! this was for me ! I know dont just a book by its cover but not often am I wrong !! This will not dissapoint !

When Zanna Seoul accidentally causes the death of a fellow spirit guide’s charge while trying to save the life of the man she loves, she is stripped of her position and banished to Earth to die. In the spirit world, one doesn’t mess with what’s written. With Zanna no longer guiding him and his memory of her erased, Owen Nash is left wide open as the target of the vengeful spirit guide who feels he’s been wronged. A guide who also happens to be a werewolf. Once on Earth, Zanna refuses to stand by and watch Owen die, so she intervenes again, setting off a chain of events that could mean death for all of them if she doesn’t go back and undo the mess she’s made. Can Zanna succeed before the werewolf does..

My Review:
Zanna Seoul is a spirit guide,2000 years old now living her life with Owen, her charge, whom she has fallen madly in love with. Zanna knows this alone is forbidden to show her true self to Owen , but loves strength  cannot be determined by some.  Owen's life is mapped out and he is destined to die. Zanna does not  want to believe his life charts have come to an end and she interferes causing havoc amongst, other spirit guides and their charges and  Zanna is sentenced to die.

Jakeb, a vengeful spirit guide - lycan - has other plans, he lost his charge and now wants Zanna to suffer his wraith. He will destroy whatever in his path to make her suffer. Including killing everyone in his path to change destiny.

Owen is thrown into a world of spirit guides, people with psychic powers, werewolves and other beings he ever thought existed. The higher powers must step in to intervene but who will survive the Lycans wraith, will destiny takes it path or continue on its whirlwind of destruction?

Wow, this book is only 57 pages long, and contains so much detail and storyline it leaves you full to the brim when you have finished reading. One would think this is just the beginning but Kim entwines everything in one sitting.

A story filled with higher powers, their bosses, their charges and  spirit guides, and paranormal beings that Kim has created - a world of her own. This story alone was refreshing something new that is what is currently out their and shelved. The chapters flowed smoothly, keeping the reader intrigued from beginning to end.The physical descriptions I felt myself gasping - this alone took my breath away.  I like to get involved in a story and this alone, keeps me on the edge of my seat. ** I tend to be a dramatic reader * :P

Thrills to leave you gasping, mystery to keep you intrigued and a forbidden love , a  path that may only  to lead to destruction?

I would like to have seen more character descriptions and surroundings, but in only 57 pages one can only include so much ;) I didnt feel anything was missing,in the storyline.  Im just big on descriptions and I like to invisage whilst I read. It takes me to that place, in the storyline.

The storyline was fluent, all blending in well, characters main and secondary all wonderfully created. Owen and Zanna, share a love that seems to defy all odds , longing for each other, desire, memories keep them from parting. Zanna may have once been immortal, but she shows some kick arse , heroic attitude to save the one she loves, she is bruised and beaten but still soldiers on, determined to protect the ones she loves till her last dying breath. I enjoy a female character that takes lead and shows initiative.

Owen, and Zanna are two parts of a whole, both strong willed characters willing to give up their lives for what they believe in and who they love. The ending not at all what you would think, but overall story was round up nicely giving it that happily ever after ending.
Overall storyline, love will always find a way.

My thought for the day after reading Wayward Soul !
** When you hear whispers - keep in mind mabye its your spirit guide , showing you your way ** !!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this short read, and would recommend to all..

Book Review - Spartan Heart by Kristine Cheney ** The Spartan has captured my heart**

Nestled in the confines within my room , cold and fluey, feeling sorry for myself, sniff sniff -  I decided to read Spartan Heart by Kristine Cheney. I was lucky enough to have won this on another book blog and was ticked pink , doing the happy dance and what not else when Kristine messaged me of my good fortune .  Seeing Kristine's release on February 11 , I  vowed to read this paranormal romance, right or wrong. The cover certainly caught my eye, and the blurb did none to discourage me. So what can I say ** The Spartan has caught my heart **. Here is the book blurb and cover and then my review will follow .

Sent away to college in America, Evangeline swore she would never return to England. Anger loses its value when tragedy forces her home to assume ownership of the family's beloved Greco-Roman museum.

Placing a foolish, drunken kiss on a Greek statue in the museum's basement, Evangeline unknowingly frees a Spartan prince from an evil oracle's curse. Suddenly, her lonely life is invaded by the rakish man with knowing emerald green eyes who never eats or sleeps, and seems to know her every thought and feeling.

Falling in love is dangerous, especially when it's with a man who has already been claimed by the bitter oracle, Demona. From the moment of her kiss, Evangeline is swept into Dorien's world of mystery, danger, and passion. The oracle's fury only mounts as they unravel Demona's darkest secrets, but not before Demona finds out about their unborn half-breed immortal twins.

Demona uses her knowledge of the future to manipulate and destroy, but sometimes love has a will, and a heart, of its

Evangeline has flown back to England after nine years of absence to attend the funeral of both her parents whom where Murdered, to inherit their Museum-London's Greco-Roman Museum. In mourning Evangeline finds herself in the treasury room, sad and lonely to find herself besotted with A Spartan statue from 500 BC..  Then it started with a Kiss ....

Where do I began, I must say this is the first book I have read of Kristine's and I was absolutely besotted. Spartan Heart was filled with heartfelt emotions, romance and love that anyone of us would search till the end of the earth to find. The romance between Evangeline and Dorien was sensual, magical and mesmerizing- Angelic if you may call it !!!!  The electricity between the both of them could cause thunder and lightening and cause any match to light from sheer heat. I found myself giggling at certain parts, grinning from ear to ear and totally and utterly in love with the characters.

Dorien is  any girls dream, magnificently sculptured, dreamy, hawt !!!!  and romantic and his old ways shine through giving him that air that would make any girl giggle and knees wobble.  His innocence with the new world was refreshing and quite entertaining. His love and lust for Evan, is shown throughout this book, it makes your toes curl and your eyelashes flutter and your heart skip a beat.. ** To be in love **

Evangeline, is a strong and caring person, and  determined to make her dead parents proud and live on with their museum, all she has ever wanted is just to be loved. I enjoyed her character , she seemed very realistic and genuine.

The story starts where Evangeline's both parents are murdered, she is coming to terms with the guilt and the grief that comes with the situation. I found myself, able to relate to this, her emotions, raw and heartfelt and completely haywire, she is finding it hard to cope, her nine year absence adding to her guilt.  I found this very sad and felt myself in her shoes, feeling her pain of loosing a loved one.

We are left wandering who murdered her parents and why? Is Evangeline safe, and who really is this stranger that has bestowed his love for Evan?

Kristine 's descriptions are very unique almost like poetry , flowing very fluently and every emotion is felt and well envisaged and put forward. Her descriptions are that realistic I could even envisage, Dorien in his attire for the ball ** wink wink ** and Evangeline in her beautiful dress. ** so jealous **

Taryn is  Evans  best friend- a friend  anyone could ever want, filled with love, laughter and happiness, her love for Evan shines through and  throughout this book, with a friend like that by your side I'm sure Evan will get through all her good and bad times to comes . * I can see Taryn being their till the very end .

I enjoyed all the secondary characters even Tommy I had a soft spot for, I liked his timid but forthcoming character. The evil The wicked Demona  from Dorien's past, brings about a different  twist to the storyline, her anger topped by not being able to get what she has wanted her entire life,  to be loved by Dorien. Inflicts pain where she fills fit and is determined right or wrong to get the man she has always loved no matter what. She comes across  a nasty-self centred bitch,, but will surely keep us readers on the edge of our seats !!!

All the characters blended in well with the story, making it an enjoyable read filled with murder,  love, lust, twists and turns = was almost like being on a roller coaster, till the end !!!! Chapters all flowed fluently, storyline never a dull moment, or pit stop, it was full on till the end. A read that will have you flipping the pages just to get to ..

 THE END.....

** I gasped oh no !!!!! flicked through my reader to see what was yet to come ** My heart slowed down and then realized I have only to wait till April 5th ... ** If you want a read to capture your heart, your interest and keep you intrigued till the end SPARTAN HEART is for you !!!!

5 stars to Spartan Heart !
