Written in Blood by Elaina Lee

I read Written In Blood as review for Elaina Lee and must say it was my pleasure !! Be advised this book is for 18 ++ here is the blurb and my review ;)

Lyndi Crisdean is assigned one of the hardest cases in her career as a defense attorney. A serial murder case. Investigating is Alek Trevian, the lead investigator for the district attorney, and a handsome and supremely dangerous man. Lyndi finds herself in over her head when she chooses desire for Alek over common sense. If they're caught, Lyndi will lose everything she's worked for. Circumstances beyond her control pull her toward Alek, for he turns out to be the only one who can help when threats start to mount against her.

Lyndi may be the key Alek needs to bring down a murderous cult running loose in his city. When her beach house is broken into and a man begins to tail Lyndi, Alek can't help but reason Lyndi may be next on the cult's hitlist. The question is, will he discover the identity of the cult, keep her safe, and still win the case against the serial killer she's defending, all while losing a battle against the strong, untamable desire she alone ignites within him?

Review !!!

Lyndi Crisdean is assigned one of the hardest cases in her career as a defense attorney. Things couldn’t get any worse, she has been married four times all unsuccessful - working in the same office as her ex-husband and his tart, and then given a case of a serial killer. Lyndi takes the case well knowing that this man is well and truly guilty. But does the opposition have enough to prove so? Will history repeat itself ?

Alex Trevain is the lead investigator for the district attorney, hot , gorgeous and deviously dangerous and handsome. ** Danger in big red neon lights ** Lydni meets him ,, this is when her life changes ….

After a brief encounter out, Lyndi is groped by a stranger, handsomely -  dangerous, cocky and smug he has ignited Lyndi’s 11 month old stint of Celibacy. Lyndi is left to hanging - her pulse racing, out front of a nightclub with the tingling sensation of a kiss that not only intrigued her but ignited heat that had lain dormant.

Lyndi finds out the next day the man behind the tingling is Alek Trevin. Alek is the opposition – Lyndi must go against him to defend her client..

Brief encounters become more often, and Lyndi finds herself drawn to Alek like a mouse to cheese, he tempts her , and they both know that forbidden it must be. Or is it ? Afterall they are both fighting the case for different reasons, one to get her client free and Alex to let him rot in jail.

Circumstances beyond Lyndi’s control take place – she finds herself turning to the one man who can help her when danger comes knocking. She is being tailed, her home being broken into and Alek thinks Lyndi maybe the key to unlocking the investigation into a cult, murdering innocent women. Reason unbeknown. Can they resist the urges of forbidden desires ? Can Alek keep Lyndi safe, still continue his defense and also control the turmoil of want building inside him ?

Will Lyndi be safe from both the beasts wanting her, both for different reasons, but will this cost her more than she ever bargained for ?
My Thoughts !

There are certain times of the night when one should NOT read Elaina Lee’s sensual romances - erotic fictions. ** blushes ** I found myself wanting Alek and Lydni to get it on real quick, I tend to think that the characters were not the only ones ( hot n bothered )** grabs cold glass of ice * grins !

I waited eagerly,  in anticipation  for Alek and Lydni to get down and dirty whilst also captivated with the onslaught of suspense growing within the story. Fast paced but definelty magnetic.

In Written in Blood we have two tortured souls, both suffering past hurts and wounds but strong within themselves to move on. I found Lydni a very realistic character, suffering from the mistakes she made, but moved on to try and rebuild her life the best way she knew how. No ones perfect right !

Alek wound himself in a tight cocoon not letting anyone in, his past haunted him and he was afraid to let someone in just to see the real soul. Lyndi and Alek complimented each other well. The chemistry was undeniable - the sex was enough to hit the ricta scale to ten, raw yet desirable and lustful. Elaina Lee had me friskily flipping these pages, eyes fluttering and toes curling just from the heat on these pages. ** Smokin hawt ** Erotic yet tasteful, steamy and definetly FORBIDDEN lol.. I’m sure the pages on my ereader where on fire !! I now I read this in record breaking time !! ** grins **

A well developed storyline filled with a great cast of characters, dialogue was crisp, the suspense and action well evened out and the romance ** sizzling ** with a *WHO DUN IT * you won’t see coming.

An intriguingly suspenseful story, overflowing with a abundance of goodies, not only to keep your interest piqued from beginning to end, but also your eye lashes curling in anticipation, and the hairs on all bodily areas standing on end. !!

A climax overflowing with conflicting emotions and poignantly compelling. ** sniff ** Geesh !!! Emotions that not only grab at your heart strings, ones that set your blood on fire, but also emotions where your screaming and lunging at the villain in the book.

An unpredictable ending by any means, Written in Blood will mesmerize you and captivate your interest and I’m sure the compelling storyline will keep you glued . I enjoy the way in which Elaine Lee draws her emotions and descriptions, its great when you can envisage a scene in a book like your there. ** not referring to the smexy scenes lol ** chuckles ….. * raises eyebrows **

The last few chapters had me slightly peeking ! ** aka shit scared ** When a author can bring you into the story emotionally and visually  you knows its been a great read.

A must read to add to your tbr pile ;) Elaina lee delivers great cover love and a great story to boot !!!
