She can't leave the kid to the evil surrounding her unwanted visions, nor can she resist her draw to Slade. He's the first guy she's been able to touch vision-free in, well, forever.

As she and Slade close in on the evil creature holding his daughter, Piper's powers morph into a deadly fury. To save Slade's daughter-and herself-Piper must face down demons she never knew she had and trust the one thing she keeps from everyone.

Piper is a bit of a loner due to her abilities, cant get close to many people, only the ones with pure souls - but feels drawn to help Slade to find his daughter. An attraction since day one !! My Thoughts  .......

Betrayed is jam packed with action, romance, suspense, secrets and heart ache. We are certainly in our paranormal element in this story, fast paced and an epic novel I’m sure will only rise in book 3.
We are taken on a roller coaster ride in Betrayed, mixed emotions, and at every page turn ,something new develops. You turn one corner to discover a curve ball in the next. Ednah had certainly piqued the readers interest in book 2, creating that paranormal element in this book by introducing new characters that I’m sure will rattle your chains. I was intrigued from page one, and found myself at times, with a goofy smile whilst I read, humor was enlightening at times, and if possible some characters even sexier> ** wink **
Sykes geesh ! I enjoy his childish teasing ways with Lil, his persistence is defiantly worth bottling, his grins I can see ** chuckles ** and he certainly doesn’t mind giving Bran a run for his money.
The guardians stay true and loyal to each other no matter what curve ball is thrown their way; I found them very admirable and constant throughout the story - this I enjoyed. No matter what their differences may have been when one of them needed each other they were there.
Remy is still the head honcho if you may call him that, the responsible one, who is honest and very  reliable. I enjoy all the boys characters and I am sure you will find Bran to be quiet moody at times  in this book ,at times wanting to kick his arse, but once you have read into the book, you will understand his motives. The girls are still feisty and kick arse, but once again their loyalty shines through.
New characters are introduced that I’m sure you will enjoy, men in black *dark but deviously sexy* and also someone who loves to challenge Kim and to boot has  her own attitude. This is quiet funny at times. I think that you will find the characters have grown, especially Lil - even the Reaper I’m sure you will have yourself slightly wandering what it is you like about him, I know I did.
Ednah certainly brings out the emotions whilst reading, I found myself giggling, goofy grin in awe, and even my eyes where fluttering at times. I enjoy a story that can bring out the emotions – even if it is to kick the characters moody arses  .. lol.. I  even found myself wanting to snuggle on the lounge and share meatballs with the hotty J and woof down pastries with the other sexy guardian -  which ones you will have to see.
Overall a memorable second installment of The Guardian Legacy series. A plot you will find has your attention piqued throughout, a fluent flowing dialogue , chapters that go with the flow, a storyline that will keep you engrossed  and an ending that will leave you craving more.  Characters that you will grow to love and hate and also characters that will have you very curious even if they are from the dark side... ** wink wink **... Actions scenes are well described, full on and sucker punch time is on !! A read filled with all the goodies one would want - full of substance of the good kind !!

Maybe I’ll enhance my PSI powers and use my powers of Mind Control and read Ednahs thoughts to find out what’s next. She has left me in sheer bewilderment, by leaving teasers now that just makes me way to curious lol.

Eagerly await book 3 … The Hunt !!!

The paperback is now available to pre order at Barnes and Noble..

Instead of heading toward the entrance, Bran stopped. “I’m taking you home so I can search for Remy and the others.”

Scowling, I faced him. I hated when he used that arrogant tone, like he knew what was better for me than I did. “Why?”

He pointed back at the alley. “Remember that? Demons are after you, Lil. I had no idea how badly until tonight. Soon, Valafar won’t have Dante on the sidelines watching over you. He’ll send him to come for you, and there’s no way I’m letting that happen.”

“You? But you saw what I can do. What we can do together. I’m stronger and keep getting better at controlling my powers every day. The demons don’t know that. Even Valafar’s people don’t. That’s why they keep acting like I’m helpless, like I’m someone who needs to be protected all the time. I don’t expect that from you, too,” I griped in an uneven tone, so annoyed I could zap him. He needed to stop treating me like a helpless person.

He took a deep breath and winced. “Forgive me for seeing you as the girl I love first and the Chosen One second.”

He didn’t fight fair. When he winced again, I reached for his arm. “You’re hurt.”

“I’m fine.”

“The dagger is healing me, Bran. Maybe if we blended our energies, just this once, we can share its healing power.”

He took a step away from me and shook his head. “No. We can’t.”

I blinked, throat thickening at the rejection. “Why can’t we link or blend our energies. What’s going on?”

He just forked his fingers though his hair and grimaced. “I can’t make you understand.”

“Try me,” I retorted.
“Not now, Lil.”
I took a deep breath, anger churning inside of me. Why couldn’t he tell me what was going on? Blending energies was the purest form of connection, especially for him and me because our energies matched. It was more intimate than kissing or anything we’d ever done. I clamped down on the anger and the pain.
“You know what, Bran? Fine. Keep your stupid secrets.”
“Thank you,” he answered flippantly.

Eternal Hearts by Jennifer Turner Book 2 in The Darkness Within Novels

Back cover blurb

Toni Tutoro just wants to go home. Banned from Chicago’s vampiric society after cutting a swath of violence through the city, she must now successfully complete an investigation for the Lord of Chicago to regain the right to live in her hometown again.

To ensure Toni’s safety during her probationary period, Drake Black, a feared assassin, is secretly contracted to protect her. Even with direct orders to keep his relationship professional, and his own personal vow to never get involved with a female vampire again, Drake finds himself drawn to Toni in ways he can’t explain. But unbeknownst to him, he’s tied to one of the people who drove Toni to her night of destruction.

Drake’s legendary heritage holds the key to Toni’s survival and success, but will she be able to forgive his connection to the brutal night that robbed her of those she loved most? Will Drake be able to forget the betrayals in his past and risk taking one more chance? But most of all, can they find a way to reach each other in the darkness?

Excerpt:

Every muscle Toni owned tensed as she stared up into the angry eyes of Lord Christian Locke, Mr. Fancy Pants himself, right there…in the flesh. She silently cursed her horrible luck as he deftly stepped around Drake and moved to stand directly in front of her.
For the second time that night, she shifted between her feet as a pair of veiled blue eyes bored into her. But unlike Drake’s, Christian’s eyes weren’t filled with sadness and pain – his were as cold and calculating as she remembered. And if anything else lurked somewhere deep behind them, anything at all, she either couldn’t see it or didn’t know how to recognize the emotions.
What she hoped was inside him somewhere was compassion and warmth. She wanted to believe that behind those frigid blue eyes and kingly demeanor was a good man, who just did everything he could to hide his true feelings from the world.
That’s what she wanted to believe – but that didn’t mean it was true.
She’d been burned enough times to know that what you wanted to believe was inside someone, and what was truly there…were sometimes two very different things.
Silence stung the air for what felt like an hour before he finally opened his mouth. “Miss Tutoro, I’m so happy to see you’ve made it back to our fair city unharmed. Please, enlighten me as to why you’ve come home. I’m absolutely dying to know.” His smooth English accent made him sound every bit as snotty as he looked.
Feeling forced to defend herself in a way she wasn’t prepared for; Toni returned his sarcasm with a dash of her own. “As always, Christian, you’re looking lovely this evening. Did Armani make that suit especially for you? It’s simply ravishing,” she quipped, trying to mimic his accent.
It didn’t mix well with the Spanish hint she already had.
She tried not to smile when she heard Drake snort, but she couldn’t help it. She knew she should be nice, knew Christian Locke held everything she wanted in his fancy little manicured hands, but something about the smug, holier-than-thou look on his face just screamed for her to do everything in her power to annoy him.
“Do you find my suit unacceptable?” His sharp tone practically dared her to respond.
“Well, since you asked,” she said as she took a step back and gave him an obvious once over, “you might wanna tell him to keep his eye on the scissors. Your right sleeve looks a tad longer than your left.”
He didn’t react. Instead, he continued to stare at her with glaring disinterest. She thought she remembered how unsettling that stare was, but she was wrong. It made her feel icky all the way down to her toes this time. Last time it was only to her knees.
But she just…couldn’t…stop. “Oh wait, that’s right.” She waved a hand at him. “It’s all coming back to me now. It’s you that’s off. Your right arm’s just a little longer than your left, isn’t it?” She blew out a sigh then offered him her most sympathetic smile. “We can’t all be perfect, can we?”
“Miss Tutoro, it would seem to me if one was seeking solace in a city they’d already been thrown out of once, one would adopt a little more humble attitude. Wouldn’t you agree?” The new, much darker edge to his voice sent fear tap dancing down her spine.
Toni sucked in a deep breath and slowly nodded. He was right. He was the only one who could give her permission to stay in Chicago, and here she was, treating him like crap.
She looked back up at him, hoping he could hear the truth in every word she was about to say. “I just wanted to come home, Christian. I’ve been driving around the country, trying to find a place that feels right. I’ve been in more cities than I can count, and I still haven’t found one that feels like home.” She struggled to keep her voice steady. “I’m not here to cause trouble, I swear. I just wanna see faces that actually smile at me again. I wanna sleep a full day without nightmares.” She turned away when she lost the battle against her tears.
How could she explain what Chicago meant to her? How much she needed to be home?
After a few moments passed, Toni wiped her cheeks and cleared her throat. She had to make him understand. But as she turned to face him again, a feeling of doom settled deep into the pit of her stomach.
He seemed to be watching her with an odd, detached curiosity.
Wanting desperately to believe she could reach him, she forced herself to continue. “This city stays with me wherever I go. I was born here, and for every awful memory I have here, there are still fifty good ones.” She lowered her eyes when his face didn’t change. “I don’t know what I was thinking…you wouldn’t understand.”
“Have you secured yourself a place to stay? I know you haven’t purchased any homes or leased an apartment. There are also no reservations for you or any of your aliases at any hotel in the city.”
Toni surrendered with a spiteful laugh. He hadn’t changed at all. “No, Christian, I haven’t broken your rules by making any permanent arrangements. I have my car. That’s it.” She narrowed her eyes when a look of pure amusement swept across his face, instantly churning her doomed feeling into seething anger. “Look, if you’re gonna throw me out or kill me, could you get on with it already? It’s getting late and I don’t have much time to run before the sun comes up. You’re at least gonna be a good sport about this, right?”
His sharp features took on the texture of concrete. “I will arrange for you to stay in a suite at my hotel. When you arrive in the lobby, give the desk clerk your name and he’ll take care of your needs.” One of his brows rose slightly as his eyes moved over her. “I’ll also have him make a few calls in order to procure you an article of clothing more befitting a woman. I expect you dressed appropriately when you arrive at my office tomorrow evening, where we’ll finish discussing your official request to stay in my city. Be there at Midnight, not a second later.”
It took everything Toni had not to look down at the sidewalk to see if her jaw had landed on one of his expensive Italian shoes. What did he say? Was she still sleeping?
Was she really in Chicago?
She barely registered the weight lift from her body as Christian’s gaze shifted up to Drake, who at some point during the conversation had moved to stand behind her.
“Mr. Black, it’s a pleasure as always,” he said as he extended a hand, which Drake easily accepted. “Since it would appear my Head of Enforcement felt so comfortable leaving Miss Tutoro in your capable hands, you’ll understand if I ask that you remain with her for now. Unfortunately, I have it on good authority that once Brick and 8-Ball finish sanitizing the scene on Rush Street, they’re going to find themselves otherwise occupied for a time.”
Toni stiffened at his words. “Christian, please don’t hurt them. I’m the one who called 8-Ball. He warned me not to come, but I didn’t listen. If you’re gonna punish someone, punish me. It’s my fault. They don’t deserve to get…” Her words faded into mumbles as Drake’s big hand clamped tight over her mouth.
“I’ll stay with her, Lord Locke. It’s not a problem.”
When the monster inside her thrashed and growled, Toni committed to the only action that blind instinct would allow – she sank her teeth into one of Drake’s meaty fingers.
“Ouch!” He ripped is hand away from her mouth. “I can’t believe you just fucking bit me! I should’ve known better.”
She whipped around to face him and jammed a finger into his chest. “Don’t you ever try to silence me again! Brick and 8-Ball are my friends, and I don’t wanna see anything happen to them. And I’d rather be put in the sun for five seconds because I said too much, than stand here knowing they might end up with some punishment they don’t deserve. I don’t even know you that well, but if Christian tried to pin you as an accessory to this whole, awful situation just because you’re standing here with me, I’d do the same for you!”
He couldn’t have looked any more shocked if she’d hoisted her leg up and kicked him in the junk. “You’d endure a Trial By Sun, for me? Lady, you don’t even know me.”
“I may not know you, but so far all you’ve tried to do is help.” She withdrew her hand. “You didn’t have to offer to stay with me so 8-Ball could go with Brick, but you did, and I appreciate that. It means a lot more to me than you’ll ever know.” She turned away from him as the stupid tears she’d been fighting all night welled up yet again. “I’d do anything for my friends. So just keep your big hands away from my mouth and we should be fine.”
Toni drew a deep breath in an attempt to pull her scrambled emotions together, then eyed Christian, who had a smile she could only describe as evil stretched all the way across his face. “What the hell are you smiling at now?”
He actually laughed at her. “Nothing, Miss Tutoro. Nothing at all.”
She fisted her hands. “Please, just promise me you won’t hurt them.”
“I have absolutely no intention of hurting them. After all, it does me no good if my Enforcement Team is out of commission.” If it was possible, his smile turned even more malicious at the edges. “However, I’m sure they’ll wish I had offered a physical punishment by the time I finish speaking with them about the disrespectful practice of keeping secrets from their Lord. If I remember correctly, don’t those of the Warrior lineage just love a good, long lecture?”
When Drake’s loud laughter boomed behind her, Toni had to smile. If there was one punishment she knew 8-Ball hated, it was some Trump giving him the verbal what-for. He’d always complained that Trumps had a bad habit of using words bigger than their egos, which as far as he could tell, no board room could hold without serious structural damage.
Not that 8-Ball was really one to talk when it came to huge egos, but she’d gladly take him and Brick being on the business end of a lecture over the possible alternatives any day.
“Now, Miss Tutoro, if you would kindly excuse me, I have other pressing business this evening. And please, do find yourself a coat. It’s far too cold to be out in the city without one. Actions as such make the humans look twice.” He gave a curt nod before he turned and walked back to his car. “Oh, and Mr. Black,” he called as he slid into the backseat, “please see to it that your charge arrives at my hotel within the hour.” He’d no more than finished his request before the door closed and his car was gone.
Toni watched as the glowing red taillights of the Lord of Chicago’s white Mercedes quickly faded in the distance. What the hell had just happened?
You’ve entered the Twilight Zone, that’s what just happened. She nodded in response to the voice in her mind. The last courtesy she’d expected when Locke had stepped out of his car was the offer of a meeting and a suite at his hotel. A swift kick in the behind and a warning to be out before sunrise, most definitely, especially since that was the response she’d gotten from the Lords of other cities as soon as she told them her name. But a warm place to stay without the threat of being hunted by the Enforcement Team…not even close.
Now, if she could only keep her mouth under control at the meeting…
She turned and looked up at Drake at the thought. Apparently, the meeting wasn’t the only place she needed to keep her mouth to herself.
She rested a hand on his forearm. “I’m sorry I bit you.”
He wrinkled his nose like a five year old and made a production of rubbing his booboo. “Me, too.”
“Oh, please.” She grabbed the offended hand and pressed a kiss to the wounded finger that had probably healed the second he’d removed it from her mouth. “There. All better.”
He jerked his arm back as though she’d touched him with an open flame. “Don’t do that.” The pain in his eyes deepened right before that invisible curtain slammed back into place. He flashed a smile that wasn’t true. “The last place my fingers need to be is anywhere near your mouth. You’ve already proven you’re a biter.”
Toni mirrored his false smile, even though what she wanted to do was ask why he kept trying to be someone else. But then, she knew all too well what it felt like not to be happy with who you were. She’d felt that way for the last three years, and to this day, she’d give anything to go back to who she was before. Back to a time when her life consisted of more than running to stay alive, back to before one night and a few bad decisions changed everything.
She stared down at his hand. “If I hurt you, Drake, I really am sorry.”
A long moment of silence stretched between them before he asked, “Can I ask you a question?”
She nodded, but couldn’t quite meet his eyes. “Sure.”
“Why do you apologize so much?”
“Because…” She bit at the inside of her bottom lip then cleared her throat. “Because I promised myself a long time ago that I’d never waste a chance to tell someone how I really feel. That I’d never walk away from someone I knew I’d hurt without telling them I was sorry…even if they couldn’t hear me.”
“Well,” he sighed, his voice seemingly filled with the same regret she felt. He rested a warm hand on her shoulder, sending a shiver down her spine. “Even though my finger will probably get all infected now and swell up like a bloated corpse, I want you to know that I’ll probably forgive you someday.” He slid his hand down her arm and squeezed her fingers tight. “But today’s not your day…and tomorrow ain’t lookin’ too good either.”
She ripped her hand away from him when he burst into a loud fit of laughter. “Oh my God!” She grabbed a fistful of his long hair then yanked his face down to her level. “What’s wrong with you? Why would you say something like that to me? What did I ever do to you?”
“Ow, ow, ow. You’re hurting me. Say you’re sorry! Say you’re sorry!”
She tugged hard on his hair again, but this time all she could do was laugh at the exaggerated way he bent at the waist and contorted sideways as his face scrunched up. “You’re just not right.”
He flashed the most beautiful, most genuine smile she’d ever seen. “Yeah, but now you’re laughing.”
She slowly released her hold on his hair, noticing for the first time how soft the dark strands felt as they slipped between her fingers. She couldn’t remember the last time someone had tried to make her laugh. Couldn’t recall, aside from 8-Ball and Brick, the last time she’d been touched by a vampire who wasn’t trying to kill her.
She looked up at Drake, watching the way his eyes seemed to lighten a little more every second he stared back at her, until not even a trace of the sadness remained. Where the darkness had gone or why, she didn’t know, but she’d been alone and unwanted for so long that she wasn’t sure whether to smile because he made her feel so good, or cry because she knew she didn’t deserve it.
You don’t deserve it. Toni swallowed the jagged knot tightening her throat and backed away from the man who had no idea what kind of monster he stood so close to. “We should probably head for Locke’s hotel.” She tucked her hair behind her ears as the frigid wind picked up around them. “When we get there, I’ll see if I can find someone who knows him. Maybe I can get his number and talk him into letting you go. I’m sure you’ve got better things to do than be stuck with someone like me. Someone you don’t even know.”
“Oh. Hell. No.” He folded his arms over his chest while that adorable, lopsided grin from earlier reformed on his lips. “I’m not going to the hotel yet. I’m not moving an inch until you say it.”
She blinked at him. “Say what?”
“Say what?” His mouth gaped open like a suffocating fish. “I want you to say you’re sorry for pulling my hair. I want you to say you’re sorry for almost snapping my spine in two.” He scuffed one of his big black boots against the sidewalk. “There’s ice down there, ya know. I almost fell, and I don’t have health insurance yet.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes. I want an apology.”
She moved to stand in front of him again. “I’m sorry that I bit you. I’m sorry that I pulled your hair. And I’m sorry if I hurt you, because that’s not what I wanted.” She tipped her head back and stared into his eyes. “And I’m sorry that the longer you’re around me, the more I’ll have to say I’m sorry…because I will hurt you again. I’m sorry Brick and 8-Ball had to leave. I’m sorry you got stuck with me. And I’m sorry that I couldn’t be in this city for more than an hour without fucking everything up again. You have no idea just how sorry I am. But I promise I’ll do everything I can to get Christian to let you go. Now, can we go to the hotel?”
“Wow.” His blue eyes widened as he inhaled a deep breath. “When you Warriors swing…you really go for the fences don’t you? And then that fence, and that one, then the one over there, then you run back to where you started and do it all over again.” He shook his head. “Truthfully, I don’t know how you do it, because I’m getting tired just watching you.”
Toni gave in to the light tugging sensation at the corners of her mouth when Drake started laughing again. Deep and damningly contagious, the rich sound rolled over her in a soothing wave, making the air feel just a little bit warmer, a little less empty.
“I have an idea.” He rubbed his hands together then blew a breath between them. “How ‘bout you pick a mood and stick with it for five minutes, I’ll worry about what I’m getting myself into, and we’ll head to the hotel where they have this great invention called heat.”
She studied him for a minute, watching the steady rise and fall of his chest as he breathed, the way each breath that slipped past his lips became a burst of steam as it mingled with the cold air, and how his tongue darted out every so often to moisten those lips.
Everything about him was human…
And from what she could tell, he didn’t even try. He didn’t stop to concentrate every few minutes. Didn’t appear to give as much as a second thought to the human functions he maintained. He imitated life with perfection, down to the very last detail, as though he’d never lost it.
She bit down hard on the inside of her cheek as jealousy tingled through her again. He was right. She seriously needed to get her emotions under control. She’d already bitten the poor guy once because she’d let the beast get the better of her, the least she could do was pick one fence to swing at. Besides, how much damage could she do to him in less than 24 hours?

My thoughts!!

Well Drake is a supernatural God!!! I loved his character, he had abilities as a Hybrid – You must read to find out the scoop on him. * As I haven’t read book one I found his abilities - * fascinating - grins ** Very intriguing, and definetly had my interest piqued. He was a torn and tortured soul who came across as a hard arse and untouchable, but upon meeting Toni he let himself live a little and loved a little. We were able to see two sides to this hot arse, scary but, hunky man. ** swoon ** (( I enjoy a hotty in my reads ))

The connection between Toni and Blake was quick, but I enjoyed the electricity and sparks that were present. Being a romantic at heart, I love romance and love, it was sensual, hot, and definetly smoldering!!! I think they had a great connection and both learned to love each other despite the torn souls they both where. Both imperfect but worked together like yin and yang.

Toni was fiery, which I enjoyed she took no shit from anyone, (my kind of girl) she was a true warrior but very loving and loyal to the ones she cared about. Kind of like a split personality, one minutes a kitten the next a lion. I liked that she wasn’t afraid to show her emotions, no matter which state she was in. Her humor has me giggling at times, and this also lightened the mood.

All supporting characters I enjoyed, I look forward to the next installment – Oktobers story 

I felt that all the characters blended through well and where all relevant in the storyline. Some of the characters traits rather freaky and dark, but hey this is paranormal and any fantasy or evil is told. I liked that Jennifer expressed not only the good sides but all the evil that dwells within her characters.

Storyline – plot was enjoyable and kept my interest from the very beginning. I have not read the first book but after reading this one, I definitely will be. Storyline flowed smoothly, chapters running from one to the next, and I must say the climax had me hanging off that roof spurring Toni on. I did read this book in one sitting so I felt it flowed well.

Overall an enjoyable read, filled with twists, and turns, betrayal and murder, love and lust and sexy love scenes that will knock your socks off. Humor and dark moments, but also a story that will keep your interest piqued and heightened throughout. For all those who enjoy a paranormal with the dark side and evil that dwells within, but also a romance entwined this is for you .

THIS IS BOOK 2 IN THE DARKNESS WITHIN NOVELS

BOOK ONE IS ETERNAL SEDUCTION...

, Eternal Seduction

After living on the streets of New York City for over a decade, Logan Ellis admits her perceptions might be a little skewed. But twisted or not, there’s a satisfying irony in watching a well dressed vampire stand in the middle of a ghetto alley, windblown trash scraping small circles near his feet. What she finds even more intriguing, is waiting for him to decide whether or not he’s going to kill her.
Kerestyan Nelek hasn’t quite made up his mind. As the Lord of New York, he can’t allow a homeless drug addict, whose memories are packed with knowledge of vampiric existence, to run free in his city. It’s not the first time he’s been in this situation with a human, it’s just the first time in thousands of years he’s come face to face with one who doesn’t seem to care. And that’s what makes the decision so damn difficult.
What horrors would you have to witness before you went numb? How many years would it take for you to feel that way? What would it take to make you care again?
Logan’s answers are simple: the worst humanity has to offer, almost thirty…and something she never expected.

Karma and Melodies by Katie Salidas

Kendra used to spend her days organizing events for Café Enigma while daydreaming about Marcus, the sexy lead singer of Normal Paradox. But all those dreams of becoming Mrs. Rock Star died, along with her mortality, the moment Hector entered her life and turned her into a vampire.

Ten torturous years later, Kendra finally escapes Hector and runs straight into Marcus. (Well, actually, he hit her with his car, but that's beside the point.) The accident leaves Marcus concussed and a few pints too low, forcing Kendra to share her blood to save him.

Sharing her blood doesn’t just heal Marcus’s wounds; it bonds him to Kendra in a magical “can’t live without you” sort of way. Now he’s professing his undying love to her, and Kendra’s not sure if he’s for real or just experiencing the side effects of their new blood bond. Either way, the two of them can’t be separated without suffering suicidal levels of depression, and the band needs to hit the road for the rest of their cross-country tour.

Kendra’s content to travel with the band and explore her new-found relationship, until whispered threats from her master, Hector, start invading her dreams. He’s tracking her down, and she can feel it. She knows the horrors he’s capable of, and if he finds out about Marcus, Hector will do everything in his power to destroy him.

If she stays, Marcus is doomed to Hector’s wrath. If she goes, the repercussions of their bond might kill Marcus. Both options will break Kendra’s heart. If they’re truly meant for each other, they’ll have to find another way....

My thoughts !!
** Firstly the cover is hot ** I really liked this, it drew me in .. Not that I pick up a book for its cover but this I liked.. Im a cover love kinda girl

A short vampire novella about a newly turned vampire of ten years, a singer in a rock band and lust- love that has been remembered over ten years.

Marcus has always been in Kendras heart and thoughts, she use to sit and watch him play while she wrote poetry until that fearful night her life changed. Fate brought her back to Markus, she escaped her maker Hector to be hit by Marcus's car - hurt and in need of blood. Things happen , Markus is drawn to Kendra but is it the blood lust? Due to the depression that follows Kendra finds herself on a whirlwind with the band, traveling with them to their next gig so that Marcus is able to perform.. Hector catches up with them and Kendra fears the worst.

A short love story filled with action, suspense, and intrigue. A genre I enjoy to read. The story line flowed smoothly, flowing from one chapter to the next, no dead stops fluent and a  tantalizing treat  to the end.. Unique characters , short n sweet read but definetly a treat !!

I have now read several of Katies books and enjoyed them all ..

Melissa must quickly find the answer to these questions, because Mark is changing, and fast. Soon her fight will be for her life, as well as for her marriage.

.
My thoughts :)
The Banishing - A dark and twisted Tale.
Melissa and her husband where happily married, in love and thrilled at the purchase of their first home. After awhile Melissa notices that her husband is slowly changing. Subtle at first but then over time Mark turns into a darker, sinister shadow of a man who inflicts harm and havoc upon Melissa, both physically and mentally.
Melissa feels her husband is possessed - he is haunted, can Melissa find out what entity is within him, what is wrong with him, before it’s too late for her life and her marriage.
Melissa is seeing ghosts; black figures and they are taunting her, is she losing her mind? What's inside the house making her prince charming turn evil and violent and making her feel like she is losing her mind?
The Banishing reminded me of Paranormal Activity!! Not knowing what is there the unknown. Fiona has created a scary horror where her characters doubt their sanity - showing their fear and emotions. ** I was scared for the characters ** The story is gradually built from page one, volumizing the effect until you find yourself leaving the night light on to sleep !!!!
Melissa I found to be a very caring character right from the start - loved everyone and even despite the trauma her husband put her through she still stuck by him, to save her life and her marriage.
Mark I didn’t particularly like, I think it was the dark side that Fiona put across of him, I let this side of him out way any good that Melissa saw in him, and I must say in any normal circumstance, I think I would’ve packed my bags and left the arse. We did see flashbacks of the good side of him, but this alone did not steer my thoughts or feelings towards him. Fiona created her entity well, within Mark.  Created a monster for us to hate, and also a lovable man the next!! ** I was scared of his moods, and mannerisms. **
I read The Banishing in one sitting, I found myself feeling slightly shy of getting back out of bed after I had read lol... It definitely creates the mood!!  I was ** slightly scared lol **
The tension build up in the story was gradual, an unpredictable ending, an interesting plot, with chapters that flowed smoothly. The only thing Id mention would be Melissa's character, throughout the read she was this lovable caring character. However in the end, I found the choice she made was not at all in her character, or the person that was portrayed throughout this entire read. But saying that = what would we do if faced in the same situation? Die by the hands you love? - Or give someone you love to the darkness to save you and the one you love?
Horror - that was dark and twisted, eerie and mind boggling, unpredictable entity, which will have you looking over your shoulder!! Be warned!! Don’t read till 3am, you will be awake all night ;)
An ideal horror for all those that like unpredictable, scary and one that makes you look sideways after you read it !! An enjoyable read from Fiona Dodwell ;)

Danann Frost Embraces the Darkness by Joanne Valiukas and book Launch !!!

Well what can I say !!! I made it to Melbourne for Joanne Valiukas 's book signing  and was so excited - I was nervous  !! My first ever book Launch, I was lucky to meet the lovley Lady Joanne herself, huggles, book signed and then ran home to motel to devour this read.. Danann Frost Embraces the Darkness is book two in this series. First book being Danann Frost Falls From Grace ..

So I was lucky enough to have gone to Joannes book Launch and I must say It was an experience I will never forget.. I sat back and listened to all the fans questions and had my very own book signed and Feeling rather special Joanne even had me in her acknowledgments !!! (( my second acknowledgment from one of my favourite authors ))  ** Sniff sniff ** I was tickled pink !!!

Yes I have a pic of me and Joanne !!!

Joanne and Me with my signed book !! ** grins **

and there's more !

Ok,,, so now Ive finished sharing my fab pics, Here is my book review and why I loved book 2 !!!

Danann Frost Embraces the Darkness .

Dannan has chosen once again to fall from Grace to be with the Dark One who has not only captured her heart but is now, her life, the life in which she chose to live.  She finds herself  alone and abandoned  at the lake in Western Ireland AGAIN.
Danann is taken to a castle and  finds herself captured by Eamon  -Seth’s Ancient rival . The king of the Mayo Vampires,  Eamon Ahern himself vows to take Danann in marriage to spite Seth, but Eamon finds he is drawn to Danann like no other. An attraction that may benefit Danann in the long run. For better or worse we shall see !!   Being taunted by Seth’s mother and sister, in fear of her life, and Seth finding out the truth, Danann finds no other way, will she yield to Eamon's hand in marriage?

He offers her protection and Danann finds comfort in Eamon. This way she will be protecting Seth from the heartache of his families betrayal and protect herself from the Dark ones who threaten her life and her light.
Danann is forced into marriage, retaliates in her own ways during her honeymoon.. She vows he will pay ! ** evil laughs*
Will Danann fight till the end for her free  will, freedom and  her own choices ? Or will her free will be taken from her to lead a miserable and unhappy marriage? As we all know Danann likes to make her own choices not to be told what to do !!!
Danann fights for the ultimate battle of darkness, will she survive the darkness, to still regain her light, or loose life and her  light to never return.? Will she cease to exist completely?
Danann is thrown into many paths along the way, evil not only awaits at her door but comes knocking ! Will  her and  Seth ever be safely to love and lead a life filled with happiness?
DDDDdnnnnnn !!!! **

Had to put that part in ** lol.

Wow !! What can I say !! I read this book in almost one sitting, till my eyelids were literally pried apart with toothpicks, till I could no longer read anymore. Awakening, I tended to girl duties ** to my dismay** lol and continued on to read till the very end. I then sat there , sighed and thought Oh my THAT WAS AMAZING !!.
Joanne has created a world of her own, unique in every which way possible. This alone is captivating, expressive, mind twirling and me,  I was lost for words. This book brings out all the emotions possible,   I felt the emotions of the characters, where  I could sit back and see , feel and embrace every detail Joanne put to paper. Even giggle , sob and gasp in dismay !!!  I so love it when a writer grasps all these aspects, every detail visible so the reader can envisage whilst reading. The descriptions of the surroundings described in detail where you felt like you where actually there.
Once again Joanne has not disappointed, this book alone had me mesmerized and intrigued from page one. It definitely had my attention Piqued !!!! Right till the every end !
I had my own conclusions I had made previous to reading this book, all to be blown out of the water, with revelations, one would not expect, be comings about that make you cry, gross you out * *yes will not tell ** and heartfelt moments, where I had to take a moment to recover !!! ** have the tissues ready **
The characters - Continued to grow .

Mia I totally loved to bits, any girl’s best friend, devoted loving and even to the extent of even helping Danann devour a meal in which she didn’t want to engulf .. lol.. Mia was kind and loving, kick arse  and I felt her devotion and love towards Danann as her best friend and even as close as a sister. The relationship was wonderfully  built and I enjoyed Mia’s determination, thoughts and feelings. A friendship that has only blossomed over time.
Seth, well what do I say !! Joanne created a Smexy Vampire  for us all to oggle , we saw his bad side, ** mind you every male has one ** grins, his good side, but also saw his continued devotion and love he felt for his Angel, and  goddess,  Danann , this alone was beautifully woven throughout the read.

I wanted to sucker punch him at one stage – but hey , he is a male, ** wink ** they aren’t perfect.  I liked that Joanne didnt portray Seth to be a picture perfect character but she  has let this blend throughout her story, this character  is certainly not perfect, we all make mistakes, a few in which Seth will pay for ** Evil laughs ** A believable character created with flawes like everyone .
Seth certainly was hot, flawed -  but his continued love for Danann never faltered. Danann was his heart, and his soul no matter what the end brought about. Their love was sensual, lust filled, but loving ..
Smokin !!!
This was hot enough to melt the tips off any snow peaked mountain, so be warned if you don’t like suggestive goodies, sex ..... then  this is not for you !!! Its not filled with details but is suggestive and for over 18 +  ** raises eyes – lusty wink ** The loving is certainly hawt !! They are like yin and yang two parts of a whole !!! Peanut butter with honey, jatz with kabanna and cheese,  chorizzos with chocolate sauce - without each other they are nothing. ** werid comparrison but they they all go togther and make a whole when joined !!! lol..
Danann – I loved her Attitude, she was assertive, kind and loving but also had some qualms about getting what she wanted, even if it meant ** putting on her charms ** lol.. She believed in freedom of will, to have a choice and make her own decisions, this quiet often caused clashes with Seth, but this alone at times I found rather amusing !! Seth definitely gets Danann’s wraith, and vengeance !!!! His patience at times, astounded me, but in his favor he knew he had stuffed up bad !!!  ** grins ** Even in times of Darkness Danann always found the light at the end of the Tunnel, her memories shone through giving a little light on her situation, ** her light shone ** her memories are what got her through at times.
Eamon, I fell in love with, his kind and caring nature, despite being a dark one , he grew on me he was easy to fall in love with and enjoy his character right till the very end.  If I didn’t love Seth so much I could see him being an ideal love for Danann, he was a great friend confident and someone whom Danann learned to love and trust with her life. A big brother , if you may call him ,  with protectiveness that shone through..
Ash ,, he is such a sweetie !! Yes yes, I loved him too… what was not to love? His nature, his devotion and his undying friendship, this was beautifully created and continued on throughout book 2 .. I’m glad that Ash found love, the love that he and Danann shared was special, this alone was heartfelt and very emotional at times.

LUCIFER - YOUR NOW INTRIGUED !!! ** evil laughs ** It will blow your mind and have you squirming in your seat and grossed out at the same time !!!!

and remember every Vampire has their day !!! I throughly enjoyed payback !!! This will make sense once you have read it !!!! ** I was roasting marshmellows round the fire whilst the ******* burned !!!!! mwahhharrraaaa
All the other characters fit nicely into this storyline, evil ** more evil ** , all blending in snug to create those moments we all fear, love and gasp at !! All definitely necessary is this story..
Well, what can I say, the plot – storyline was definelty unpredictable, mind blowing and exceptionally  one of a kind. It amazes me how such a fantastic book can be written, created and then given life on paper.  I carried this book around with me in my head all day –  till in the end  I had to pick up another just to get it out of my  head.  It didn’t help that I had been to the book launch ** grins – happy dance ** and was in total awe with it all !! I ran back to my motel showered, fluffed my pillows and read !!!
Joanne created a different world - one filled with Vampires and Angels  - I didnt feel I was reading or had deja vu . You know !!  It had its own substance - filled with all the goodies, but also  a completely different world. Yes we have Vampire traits that come through, blood sucking, hot sex !! and lust,, but its nice to have that added extra that no one else has, this alone was intriguing. The angel part will blow your mind !!! This alone was unique !! ** Sorry no telling ** :O) Other elements of the story will also have you intrigued !! Not telling ....
The chapters all flow smoothly from one till the next, the climax had me sobbing !! The twists and turns had me refluffing my pillows, jittery and apprehensive,  the ending
 ** SIGH **
Can’t tell !! you must read… Joanne  had me slightly worried at one stage !!! But ……
I had to gasp !! Shook my head, grabbed for a tissue !!!
Da dannnnnnnnnn …..
You will know what I mean when you read it !!!!
I found myself giggling, grinning and looking like a Cheshire cat ….   I walked away, content, happy and in total awe at a read that will definetly be archived in my memory always.

. A must read for all, make sure you buy book two when buying book one as you won’t be able to wait !!!!

I have no negative thoughts or apprehensions... I enjoyed this read without a doubt !
