Dirty Blood by Heather HIlderbrand

Well I was lucky enough to have been given a copy of Dirty Blood by Heather  and I must say I loved it !!! A refreshing new storyline, filled with suspense, murder, mystery and of course that Hotty we all love to love !!! Here is my book review ! and blurb !!

I killed a girl last night. I did it with my bare hands and an old piece of pipe I found lying next to the dumpster. But that’s not the part that got me. The part that scared me, the part I can’t seem to wrap my head around and still has me reeling, was that when she charged me, her body shifted – and then she was a wolf. All snapping teeth and and extended claws. But by the time I stood over her lifeless body, she was a girl again. That’s about the time I went into shock… And that was the moment he showed up.

On a cold frosty night Tara finds herself abandoned and no way to get home, so she decides to catch the bus. On her way to the bus stop, she finds a young girl shivering uncontrolably, and Tara approaches her to offer her help, the young girl bolts towards her and  changes into a wolf.
A wolf with snapping teeth, large claws and one whom wants   to kill her.  Tara reaches for the only weapon she can find a large pipe and hits the wolf. Now lying beside Tara, motionless, Tara realized she has killed the wolf- and the young girl’s body has returned. Tara mesmerized and shaken, hears a voice , turns and finds herself looking at a young man, who is offering to help her despite the fact that she has just committed murder.
Wes takes Tara home, and in time introduces Tara to a world she did not know existed, tells her things she never dreamed off and also tells her she is a HUNTER.
Wes is mixed breed, part hunter, part werewolf and due to his Genes he is  able to change into a wolf. Tara and Wes find themselves magnetically drawn to each other, an attraction unexplained, yet electricity that flows like a thunder bolt and lightening.
Wes takes Tara to meet his friends, where *The World of The Cause* is explained, the cause being that Werewolves and Hunters to unite and be at peace rather than be at war, and to only kill each other.
Tara finds herself in danger; someone is trying to kill her, reason unknown. Wes takes upon his protectiveness for Tara to protect and kill whoever tried to harm her. Their life is thrown into a world wind and visions are put forward, will Tara be the destiny they all seek??
Tara now realizes her life is not at all what it seems, filled with lies and a bubble her mother had created to keep her safe, but in the long run will this bubble get Tara killed ?

My Review. !!!!
Within settling down in my comfy spot, I was completely drawn into this story and sucked in within the first chapter. The suspense, and mystery started early in Dirty Blood, only to find myself mesmerized and intrigued by such an interesting idea.   I really enjoy it, when I find I can’t put a book down, just by being purely focused on what’s going to happen next and how the plot will unravel.
Well, Wes was introduced early in the story so of course, the heart starts to flutter, and I’m sure just like Tara’s did. ** giggles ** I found  Wes a yummy, ** swoon ** well the material we all enjoy in a story. ** Hawt ** He was kickarse, protective, and totally alpha material. I found his character to be bold, and assertive yet with that soft side to him and of course with a bod like that !!! We can only envisage how hot he was!!!
Where Tara was concerned, Wes would have died just to protect her.  The attraction between Tara and Wes was sensual, mesmerizing and certainly electrifying. The connection they had was romantic, and heartfelt, both equally feeling what the other thought. Two butterflies in unison... ** Heart flutters**
Tara was pig headed, determined, quiet often almost getting herself killed due to it, but she only wanted  to just lead her life the way she wanted and not to be dictated to.In  the end, her true Hunter came out and not only became evident she had a  gift, but also showed everyone she was cable of doing. Her attraction to Wes was very girly, lovey dovey, but quiet romantic and made you grin at moments. I enjoy a little romance, and this story did not go overboard with this, just the right amount to get your heart fluttering and keep you intrigued.
The plot was - wow -  fast paced, chapters flow  smoothly from one to the next and even at the end, as disappointing as it is to see the story end, I didn’t feel like I had been jilted and nothing had been left out.
Like I said from the first chapter ,I was hooked, line and sinker, and just get reeling it in till I finished it. I enjoyed the fresh storyline that Heather created, certain  werewolves that  have extra gifts, talents and also the  building a world where Werewolves and hunters could unite to live in harmony and work together. A cause I think was justifiable and  once again refreshing .
Of Course we need our Villains. ....The villains played their parts well, hating to hate them, lol..  Fight and action scenes were great, and even giggled when Grandma strutted her stuff !!!!  She was one new age lady !!! She was definelty not what you would think in your normally every day granny , this was a hoot.

I was  relieved at the end, being the reader I am, the story being  left open for more rivalry in book 2. ((I hope)) Descriptions well placed and I could envisage whilst reading !!  Im a visual reader, and I like it when I can see scenes taking place and even character descriptions. I suppose it takes me into that part of the book !
I enjoyed  all the secondary characters, falling in love with Wes’s adoptive parents, and all the characters, they fitted in neatly in this paranormal story, to give us that fix we need forsuspense,  mystery, action and romance. A well delivered story that will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat, grasping for the next page just to find out what’s next!!!!!
Overall I felt like the climax was well delivered, it had me slightly apprehensive, eager, keen and wandering where Heather would take it, but being a reader I was happy with the conclusion.
An intriguing, and mesmerizing, tale of werewolves, and hunters, unique of its own, a whirlwind of mystery and suspense, that will have you contemplating till the very end.  An ending unpredictable by any means.

4 1/2 stars !!!!

Heartsight by Kay Springsteen

I was lucky enough to have been given Heartsight by Kay Springsteen to review and I must say it was a pleasure. I really enjoyed this read and it opened my eyes to a few things, how people can be so judgmental and cruel towards the things in life, they dont understand. How people with disabilities, live life to he fullest and the best way they know how !! A love story filled with courage and determination.. Here is the book blurb and my review.

On a secluded beach in North Carolina, three lonely people find hope in each other.

Trish Evers is an artist and single mother, who has inherited her grandmother's Bed and Breakfast in a North Carolina coastal town. Though she must sell the house, she decides to bring her daughter to the beach for one last summer vacation in her childhood town.

Bella is a six-year-old girl who has Down syndrome. Rejected by her father, Trish, is the only parent she's ever known. Bella likes to explore the beach and has a tendency to wander off. One day, Bella goes exploring on her own, and Trish finds her in the company of an intriguing stranger.

Dan Conway is a U.S. Marine, who had been born into a family of Marines. Now blind as a result of combat injuries and unable to "suit up," he feels he no longer has a purpose in life. He's come home to the beach, where he spends his days in solitude. Dan must learn to believe in himself and to love life again, which he begins to do through his interactions with Bella and Trish. When a hurricane strikes, and Bella wanders off again, her only hope for rescue is Dan.

Working within the confines of his blindness, he must overcome his fear of failure and recall his training in order to search for the little girl and bring her to safety.

**********************************************************************************
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but if the beholder cannot see then they must alone rely upon their heart to tell them.

Heartsight is a truly inspiring story of hope and love that overcomes many challenges.

Trish Evers is an artist, teacher and a mother to six year old Bella. Bella has Down syndrome, and has been outcast by her father and left to live her life alone with her mother Trish. Trish has returned home to North Carolina, to pack up her grandmothers possessions, and sell the house that she has inherited from her- a Bed and breakfast. She has decided to bring Bella one last summer, to enjoy a holiday and the beach, whilst she paints and gets everything in order.

Bella is a delightfully happy young girl who loves to collect shells and wander off to the beach in her own little world. When she comes across Dan Conway. Dan is a U S Marine who has been blinded during combat and is now living his day one day at a time with no real meaning. In time Bella and Dan grow a close friendship, he teaches her little things and she enjoys his company. Trish also finds herself drawn to this handsome stranger, he has a way with Bella that not only touches Trish's heart but makes her wish for more than she ever bargained for.

Dan feels he is no longer of use and has secluded himself from the world, until he meets Bella and Trish and his world has become not so empty. Trish and Bella have brought upon a feeling that Dan has not felt in a long time - Hope.

A hurricane strikes, Bella has gone missing, and Dan must fight his fears, use his past training to save and bring Bella back home to safely. Will the fears get the better of him - or will he find his true meaning in life?

My Review!!

Heartsight is a truly warm and inspiring story of challenges in life and how they can be overcome. Living a life with a child with disabilities, being judged by those who don’t understand and just trying to live one day at a time, and love to your heart’s desire.

The dialogue was easily flowing and the plot well outlined and present. I really enjoyed the characters, easily to fall in love with, their emotions well portrayed and as you can say *HEARTFELT*. I really felt like it tugged at the heart strings. Moments where you just shake your head at some peoples outlook on people and also make you wander how life can be so cruel and the people in it. This is so very true in real life, people can be so cruel and judgemental at the things they just dont understand. !!

The main characters meshed well together, I enjoyed the passion they shared, it was lustful, sensual and loving but without the over the top physical attributes. Kay showed that love can be present even without the sex involved to form a close love and friendship first. Don’t get me wrong the sexy scenes are ** swoony** and give your heart a little start ..

Trish found it hard to bellieve that someone like Dan could like her, she considered herself to be ** fatty patty **. ** X husbands words.  Dan asks Trish to describe herself, this part I thought was so sweet, even though he cannot see, he says all the right things to give Trish that boosts she needs. Trish was a loving and caring character, the love for her child beautifully crafted and admiring. Dan was a mysterious man, in his own ways, drawn within himself not feeling his worth in life; Trish showed him that his blindness was something love conquered over.

Bella was a delightful, happy, bubbly child, full of life and just living every moment to her heart’s desire. I like how Kate involved parts of Down syndrome enlightening the reader as to what’s involved in caring for a child with this disability. Because honestly I learnt a few things from this read... I do realize there is more involved but this insight was interesting and accompanied the storyline well.

The villain was well portrayed to be the monster he was, I’m glad that Kate delivered to him, his just deserts. For someone to be so callous is beyond me, but there are people out in the world who think that a child with disabilities and a man who is blind is a mark on the cross. A burden if you may call it. This story showed the absolute opposite. Loves defies everything!!

Overall, a loving romance, filled with suspense, courage and possibilities for a happy life even if god has cast upon you a few challenges to get through.

I thoroughly enjoyed Heartsight and look forward to reading more of Kates stories.

Dancing with His Heart By Katherine Warwick,

This year I've ventured out and read all types of Genres !!! This week I was lucky enough to have read Dancing with His Heart and I loved it !!!! Katherine has entwined, ballroom dancing, love and a little girl with autism into this read and I must say I enjoyed all aspects !! Here is the cover and blurb and my review and thoughts ...

Playboy and philanthropist, Alex offers first class sponsorship to Lauren and her dance partner. Given their tumultous past, Lauren is suspicious. Without resources, the single mother of a handicapped child is forced to take Alex's offer. His plan is to prove that he's changed, and win her heart. But trust is not easily won even with the sizzling sparks the two of them ignite on and off the dance floor, and they both face more trouble when a dark figure from their past shows up with devious intentions for them both.

My Review ;)

Playboy and Philanthropist Alex, offers  Lauren and her partner sponsorship for their  ball room dancing. An offer of a life time - To be trained by the best instructor, dressed in divine sparkly attire, and to be financially stable in life.

Lauren being a single mum to a child with autism, she  finds this a dream come true, to be able to give her child a better start in life, coaching and learning that she needs to develop herself. She hesitantly accepts.  Lauren is hesitant given Alex and her tumultuous past, therefore  Lauren is cautious and suspicious of his ulterior motives.

Wanting the best for her daughter in life Lauren accepts his offer and seals the sponsorship.
In time Alex and Lauren can’t deny the electricity and attraction between each other, but Alex must show Lauren that he has changed in order to win her heart and her love. Even if he has to sweep her off her feet...

The past has come back to Taunt them both; with devious intentions that causes dramas between them both.

My thoughts ;0

Sigh... I so enjoy a romantic read, this story was filled with heartache, heartfelt moments and moments where you had to wipe that lonely tear from falling. Moments where you sighed, giggled and also wandered. Why?  An enjoyable read, from beginning to end, I just couldn’t put it down.
It dealt with the life of a single mother dealing with her loss in life, and the heartache of bringing a child into the world alone with autism.

Life wasn’t meant to be easy for anyone, but Lauren often wondered why she was dealt this card - Her daily dealings with life, her daughter and her passion. Somehow no matter what, she dealt with it all, and moved on with life, to love and enjoy her precious daughter in which the way god gave her and also find time to enjoy her passion in life - to dance.

I liked the way Katherine wove details about Autism into this read, giving the insight to just a little of the out comings of dealing with a child with a disability. But also entwining that there can be happiness as well as moments where you wander and ponder. I also enjoyed the information into the side of ballroom dancing, this I found different I as I have never danced, but she made it sounds magical and romantic. Makes me want to start up, just for the sheer romance of it all.

The plot was fluent and straight forward, weaving Laurens love for dance, her love for her daughter and a passion that she wasn’t so willing to succumb to.
The main characters meshed well, their love was sizzling and hot, I could almost see steam coming off Alex at certain times, his lust, and love for Lauren was that pronounced. As Always  He was a gentleman, right till the end, showing her he could love her and Bekah  and all that came with. He was  willing to wait just to be with her and show her how much he loved her. ** Who said that chivalry is dead ** ??
Lauren a caring and loving character, found it hard to let Alex in, mistrust due to past dealings, in time she realized he had her best interest at heart. The love was sensual, warming and made you feel all gooey inside.. The descriptions were intoxicating - the scents and emotions well portrayed. Overall, a wonderful read, filled with dance, love and family and possibilities for a happy future no matter the outcome you were dealt with.

Dialogue and plot were well outlined and full of all the goodies  and fluent,  never a dull moment, Katherine always has that way with her books, you get engrossed in the read, you feel like a magnet drawn to steel.

I have enjoyed all of Katherines  books and she never dissapoints, her passion to write is shown in her work and from my personal point of view I enjoy every word she puts on paper.

Spartan Heart Part 2 by Kristine Cheney. ** Book Review **

Well I must say After reading Part 1 of Spartans Heart I eagerly awaited part 2 and this week it was released. I must say I really enjoyed book one review is lower in my posts, but part two was definetly a sizzler !! hot and filled with lots of goodies to keep you on the edge of your seat !!! So here's the hot cover for **Spartan Heart Part 2 ** then my book review, my thoughts on why I enjoyed it !!!

My Review :

Part one had us left us anxioulsy waiting to know as to whom the rogue was, that showed up at the end of Part One to take Evangeline right or wrong. Did he mean her harm ? Was this the end ?

Once again Demona has been meddling and causing chaos.  Lucky for Angeline she is strong willed and this stranger is able to read her mind and put two and two together. Realizing he has been set up he is determined to seek his revenge and for forgiveness.

Dorien finds out the truth as to Evangeline’s pregnancy, and old friendships are re kindled.

Part two  takes us back to the land of the Spartans, Evangeline, Tommy, Philip and Dorien have decided to go back to where Dorien was found, and search for  his warrior Spartan companions. Here , mysteries are uncovered, kiss of life is revisited, there is mayhem, and danger, and even a little lovin thrown in.

A menace * Phebus* - Demona's  minion is beside himself,  taking circumstances in his own hands. He is cruel, unkind and on a mission to destroy all in his way.   Evangeline being is target in goal !

Not only do they all fight for their existence but Evangeline fights for what she believes in. Here in Sicily Evangeline discovers the true meaning to her happily ever after.

With all her new family always close by - I’m sure that life will never be dull or lacking in love.
Life is never what it seems......

Demona continues on with her bitchy - sour antics, woman scorned if you may call her - but in time her visions arent what they are cracked up to be, life for her is a completely new ball game. They say pay back is a bitch and Im sure she will get her just rewards in time ..

With family and friends close by Evangeline and Dorien  goe through heartache, tears, and happiness. Dorien and Evans  love is challenged and pushed to boundaries, and in the end will good win over evil? Or will it tear their happily ever after away ?

*******
Oh my - As much as I enjoyed part one, Part two is a pearler.  When I say that, Kristine  has hit the jackpot for all things that sparkle. This story certainly left my eyes twinkling and mind whirling.  I was drawn into this modern world filled with Dorien and his old ways.  The words, the expressions, made me giggle, - Dorien is still back in his old years, in the way that he speaks - ** with child ** babes .. I enjoyed his words and mannerisms , ** Sparta Style **

His love is still has strong as a swift current, smoothly running and never ceasing flow. Full on and in fluent motion.  A love like that, you would only want to last a life time, or for immortality. His loyalty is admiring, his love, unfathomable, and his word infallible. A true Spartan King ..

Evan is still strong willed, more persistent if that is possible, and still  totally in love with Dorien, in this story  her will is challenged, and her love for her babies is like any mother -  She will do what it takes to save them from harms way.  She is kick arse if you may call it, determined and even when she is  down on her knees deep in mud, she is still willing to do all that it takes to save and live for the one she loves. A true warrior in her own ways and world.

Evan and Doriens love is still sizzling ,sensual,  magnetic, and filled with devotion, this alone makes you think what it would be like to have a  love like this.. I know its only a book !! But hey,, it works for me and I love the lovey dovey stuff.  The emotions once again are expressive, fluent and magical. Whilst reading you can feel Kristine 's passion for her work, - the story - it reflects in her writing.   She pours her heart into it, this reflects upon all the emotions present.   Poetry in motion once again -  characters  feelings well portrayed, and  emotions that pull at your heart strings. When a book can bring out all kinds of emotions, you know it has been a good read.
The dialogue jam packed with all the goodies needed for a great story, plot fluent and steadily paced, chapters all flowing from one to the next. Until of course you reach those critical moments where you frantically read just to find out what’s happening.. This alone was an adrenaline rush !!!  SIGH !!

Part two was filled with so much suspense I thought I was going to sponstanusly combust in the end.. NOT PREDICTABLE and this was kind of scary !! Because we all want we want when we are reading right ?? and when turns of events dont go the way we want ... well,, you know the story..

We all envisage while we read,, but I found I  read, gasped, read - sighed… smiled and thought ahhhh...  Once you have read it you will understand.

I throughly enjoyed this world that Kristine Has created, it will take you back in time but also keep you within our modern world. An adventure Im sure that you will enjoy.

All secondary characters, blended in well with the storyline, new characters introduced. I really enjoyed these refreshing new characters,  their loyalty and mannerisms enjoyable and once again  sexy spartans !! The humour was enlightening between the characters, and  the mind reading amusing.  We need a little hotness in our reads !!!! ** swoon **

I look forward to more in the following series. This alone leaves a lot of room for character building and storyline for the next book in the series.. Keep in mind that this is part 2,, so Part 1 and Part 2 is one book ;)  just split in half ... to tease us  :O)

Overall it was fantastic !!!!

Spartan Hearts for this read !!

You can find Kristine over at Facebook ;)

Where you can find links to purchase Spartan Heart part one and two !! But you must read part one first !!!

Legend of the Oceina Dragon by J F Jenkins ** Book Review **

Well I must say normally I wouldnt read a book about Dragons, but when I was sent an email and asked would I like to review it, I  thought why not. I am trying to broaden my horizons and read different genres this year and I must say Im doing a pretty good job !!!  Here is the Book cover ** I really liked it ** Me being a cover love girl this caught my eye,, then blurb and my review !!

Darien Oceina is the youngest son of the Great Dragon Lord of the Water. For years he's loved and cherished Tai Dawson from afar. Tai is a simple, ordinary girl who doesn't even know Darien exists. On his eighteenth birthday, he chooses her as his wife. But there’s one problem: She thinks his choice means she's going to be offered as a sacrifice to the Dragon Lord, but instead, she’s forced to move to his home, far away, to give up her life and be his bride.

When she first sees Darien after the ceremony, she doesn’t expect to feel anything but hatred toward him. The two are struggling with the complications of a new marriage when their nation is attacked by a rival dragon species. Together they learn to love one another while they struggle to stay one step ahead in a game where the prize is their survival.

My Review ;)

Lord Oceina approaches the island Of Oceina when it is time for the giving of a sacrifice. This sacrifice enables the island people to live without fear of the other dragons nearby, and live life without worrying about the lives of their people.

The sacrifice must be a virgin, no older than 18 years old, of pure blood; this sacrifice is given to Lord Oceina as a trade for peace, safety and protection for the island residents. The residents find the sacrifice is just and acceptable and even the bearer considers them self to be worthy and special to be chosen. They approach their day of sacrifice to only find it is not what the past has portrayed but a whole different meaning to the word sacrifice.

There are four dragon species, representing different elements and each having their own qualities and abilities which are indescribably mystical.

Darien is the youngest of his species, Lord Oceina being his father hands Darien his sacrifice on his 18th birthday. His birthday gift if you may call it that - her name is Tai. A sacrifice I'm sure they will both remember.

My review !!

A story filled with mystery, fantasy, love, passion, murder and betrayal. Characters and plot show a huge amount of potential and area for growth and expansion to be a fantastic series. This story alone I found Unique!!!!! And incredibly intriguing. I assume for myself this alone, as there is nothing on the shelves like this and alone the world that J K Jenkins created is amazing and full of fantasy.

Characters I enjoyed, Darien - a girls dream come true, love dovey, lovable, caring and very tolerable. Not afraid to show his true self and feelings to his one true love. Darien is the one and only of his kind, once again unique to the dragon race, he has powers above all others. I'm sure in time his character will show great strengths and maturity to undertake his role he has been left to - to rule Oceina. He came across slightly timid , and shy and not outspoken, but given time I'm sure we will see a change in his character, this I look forward to.

Tai - I found conflicted due to her circumstances, but who wouldn't. Thrown into a world she knows nothing about, and given a second chance at life if you may call it. She deals with feelings she is unsure of, a love that she never wanted, and a man willing to give her everything he has to keep her. In time I'm sure Tai's character will grow and mature, she is caring and considerate enough to give life a go. Tai and Darien's love has its cute moments, filled with love, laughter, lust and a little passion. Both new to this side of things, it was limited, but love does find its way .

Overall, All the secondary characters I enjoyed, all fitting into the world and plot that Jenkins has created. At first I found it a little muddled - a tad confused - in the first few chapters having to slow down the reading to get the story concept, but after that the storyline flowed and continued till the end. The story does leave room for more, that I am sure will reflect upon the next book in the series. Here I hope to see alot of character development and growth as the story grows stronger. Book one giving us the insight to the world created and touching bases with the fantasy world that this author has made.

Full of lots of things to think about, a world you could never imagine and a storyline that will have you thinking way past the finish line.

I had to go a friends and explain this book, as it really amazed me , we sat drank coffee and discussed how someone could think to create this world of the Oceina Dragons. !!! Not normally something I would read but I am certainly glad I did.

I found myself mesmerized by the plot of this story, it's always nice to read something new and refreshing and I eagerly await book 2.

Extraordinary and Unmatched by any other story.

 4/5 dragons !!!!!

Yet the answer he seeks may very well tear them apart.

While a demented arsonist...SLOW BURN(s)...and plots his ultimate revenge.

My Review !!

Demented Arsonist – Talented Artist – Firefighter who wants the truth exposed- will the truth find its way, or will they find themselves buried with it?

Ashley Fitzgerald witnessed the death of her parents in a tragic fire on her 15th birthday, for ten years she has blocked all memory of that horrid night. Ashley has chosen to move on with life, paint to her hearts desire, photograph what she loves and deal with the nightmares that hold the truth.

Ashley is a successful artist-photographer, living her life with no added complications until one morning her male model turns up at her door and she asks him to strip to his briefs, ready for a session, when he informs her that he is not who she thinks he is.  He is indeed the son of the man who died saving her from the fire in Calyle house 10 years prior.Ron Noble.   Ron believes the fire may have been deliberately lit; Ashley just wants to move on, she has accepted what has happened.

Did someone kill Ashley’s parents? Was the fire set deliberately?

Ron wants to expose the truth, and he needs Ashley on his side, to do so.

Ron Noble wants to find out what happened that dreaded night.  Ashley understands his pain they both lost loved ones, feeling drawn to Ron not only for his charming ways, but feels maybe it is time to find out the truth...  Ashley agrees to help Ron, the electricity between them is sizzling, they both feel it, but as secrets are unraveled, mysteries divulged, they find themselves in a whirlwind of turns and twists they could never have imagined. People on the list are getting killed, the toll is getting higher and more is at stake that then could ever have imagined.  It’s left up to Ashley to remember details of the accident something that will change her life forever.

Wow!!!!

I must say this romantic thriller, was filled with twists and turns at every corner. I was intrigued from beginning to end with this read, and at one stage I felt like a crazed reader, flickering through 100 miles per hour just to find out whom, what, where and why!!!

A suspenseful thriller- romance that will leave you bewildered, guessing and wandering who the killer was, and why.  An unpredictable plot by any means, suspense that will leave you gasping, unexpected events that will bring tears to your eyes; make you fume at events that take place, and also making the plot both intriguing and memorable. Chapters flowed smoothly,  the plot was fast paced, and kept the reader interested throughout from beginning to end. I felt not a thing was missed or rushed...

Slow burn was filled with luscious sensual love scenes, that not only will have your toes curling, eyelashes fluttering, but your heart racing like a bird in flight. Moments where you will find yourself grinning with amusement at the funny antics between the characters, and  moments where you heart is being played like a marionette and scenes where you want to just jump into the book.

The main characters were well developed, Ron – was charming and flirtatious, cocky, and hot to trot, rich and successful business man  and every womans ideal dream boat -  yet he  also has his own vunerabilites, this showed the reader he was not that perfect hot firefighter, that he also had issues he had to deal with. Loving and caring and sexy an idealistic hero for all. A tortured soul to a certain extent.

Ashley was hot headed in the way she spoke her mind  and independent, caring and considerate, but also I enjoyed her straight forward character, she liked the truth and believed to give it at all costs. She was passionate about her work and the ones she loved, determined to do what it took to keep the ones she loved out of danger.

The blazing attraction between Ron and Ashley was mesmerizing, tantalizing and passionate. Sex scenes were sensual and loving, electrifying- if you make call it, yet at times also dreamy and transient.  Their love was portrayed, tastefully and emotionally giving a good insight to their feelings. Both the good and the bad moments.  The descriptions in this story were Fluent, expressive and rhythmic well above defined, there is nothing quite like reading a book and being able to envisage scenery, scents and smells.  I am one for great descriptions and this book does not disappoint.

Secondary characters all blended in well, nothing missed out and even the villains were portrayed as noxious, and demented. Definitely incalculable.  Making you dislike the character. The other characters, loyal and faithful, and heartfelt.  I enjoyed all the characters in Slow Burn, each and every one unique and necessary for the plot to unwind.

Overall, I must say, I had Goosebumps by the end, Held my breath and hoped for the best ….  I am a dramatic reader, but you know when you have read a good book when it pulls at your emotions and when the end is done … you sigh! And breathe… I’m sure I held my breath last few chapters..

A capricious read !!!! I’m sure you will enjoy.

Look forward to reading more of the Fitzgerald series.

Slow burn can be brought at smashwords,

World-famous shark expert Sean Carmichael has only grown more ruggedly appealing in the time they were apart…the passion between them more intense than ever. But how could Daniela forgive Sean for betraying her when she needed him most?
Sean had come to the remote Farallon Islands to study killer sharks. Now a real killer is on the loose, threatening the woman he's never stopped loving. And this time, he knows he can't walk away. Marooned together during a deadly storm, Sean vows to go to hell and back to save Daniela…and for the chance to begin again.

My Review :)
Trouble in paradise??

How would you feel to be stuck alone on an island with your ex ?? Not all endings end well, but not all love is always lost.

Daniela Flores is a conservation biologist, her dream job has come true, one year of waiting and she is assigned to her ideal position of a lifetime - to work on an exotic wildlife preserve in Farallon Islands. Upon arriving at Farallon she was ready to move with life, beat her anxieties and enjoy her new job.

Until she finds her  Ex husband -Sean Carmichael is running the research team. Sean has come to Farallon Islands to research Killer sharks, and now they have both gotten more then they have bargained for.  A rift is still in place, a heart wrenching  divorce, Daniela heartbroken, ready to move on  and Sean determined not to let her into his heart or deter him. An uncomfortable situation for both.

Are they able to move on and just do their jobs assigned? Can Daniela ever forgive Sean for him betraying her when she needed him most?

The passion between them is more intense than ever, Sean and Daniela can’t deny the electricity still flowing between them, but either wanting to admit it. Sean's feelings have resurfaced and can’t help that he still lusts, and yearns for his love of his life. Daniela, also heats up at the site of Sean, his ruggered appearance, has not dulled the intensity she felt for him in and out of the bedroom.

A turn of events take place, the boat is sabotaged, the communication lines are cut, and Daniela plunges into the ocean after a railing is loosened. There is someone on the island, causing havoc and destruction in their wake, for what reason it is unknown. It seems that this isolate island is no longer safe, a killer is on the loose, has attacked one of the researchers and Sean and Daniela have no choice but to be stranded and alone on the island with a killer.

Wow!!!!
This book arrived in my mail box, I settled down to a cuppa and just read. From the moment I started I was drawn into this suspenseful, romantic thriller. An intriguing page turner from beginning to end. The right amount of romance and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat, reading just to find out who the killer is, why, and if love does find its way. Even the smexy , luscious scenes had me friskily reading ;) Sighing - to myself... lol

The storyline was fluent, flowed smoothly from each chapter till the next. Providing us with that suspense and mystery and tantalizing us with the romance between Daniela and Sean. The romance was electrifying, sensual and breathe taking. I really enjoyed the way that Jill defined their emotions, at times I had to wipe a tear from my eye, it was that heartwarming and heartfelt... It had me pulling at my heart strings like a marionette. ** I know I am an emotional reader **  lol.. The ending definelty unpredictable, this alone left me captivated.
The love was undeniably mesmirizing !

But the suspense - will have you gasping in dismay. !!!!!!

The main characters fit well together like icing on the cake, very much alike yet very much their own personalities. Sean, hot, good looking, athlete type material with a soft heart, yet hard demnear at times. Straight forward and admirable.  But when he realized that someone on the island was endangering Daniela's life, he swore to protect her till his last breath, even in the eyes of Shirley ...

Daniela was more a tortured soul, having experienced a lot in the past years, loosing someone she loved, almost dying and surviving-  she surfaced from her zone  and tried to move on the best she knew how. Very withdrawn at first, but Sean brought out that part of her that she had hidden for two years. Making her someone new and ready to live again.

The secondary characters, I really liked, all very different characters, but blended in with the story line and I rather enjoyed Jason's flirtatious comments and humor.

Overall, captivating read, filled with luscious, and sensual love, a love you would die for, and a dream worth fighting for, and a killer you would kill to protect the one you love.

The Perfect Rose by Felicia Rogers

What a week Ive had,,work , kids  being sick and I managed to read a little in between. I was lucky to be given The Perfect Rose By Felicia to review.. Dont you just love the cover !!! A nice short love story Im sure you will enjoy.
Blurb !!
Abandoned by his wife and left to raise a child alone, Caleb Reed falls short of the ideal work-from-home dad.  He needs a woman to help him, in every sense of the word.  At the suggestion of a friend, Caleb agrees to hire Ariel Lauren on a trial basis.
As an orphan, Ariel has more issues than just how to make it on her on.  Yes, she needs the money that Caleb offers her, but more than anything she finds she desires his love.  One calamity after another befalls her and jeopardizes her new job and her chance at having a family.  Will they decide to continue life alone or will the magic of the holiday bring them together?

My Review
The perfect rose is a  heartfelt story of love, commpanionship and family and a Valentine to remember.
A rose that has flourished from love...

Ariel finds herself seeking employment as a housekeeper- babysitter to Caleb a struggling father, whom is  torn between domestic duties, his son and his writing.  Ariel is hired  To help cook, clean and tend to Josuha whilst Caleb finishes his work in progress.

Josuha  is a lovable caring, and smart young boy, after love and attention and a mother. Caleb in dire need of a housekeeper, to tend to all the duties he is uable to due whilst so  close to his cut off date for his book. What he didnt expect was a beautiful young girl to turn  up - what was Mabel thinking ?? Was she playing match maker again ?

Joshua grows a close bond with Ariel, loving her and enjoying her company and in time Ariel has found her way not only into Caleb and Josh's home but also their hearts. Ariel finds she has opened her heart to Caleb and Josuha and the idea of a family sounds like her life long dream come true. But somehow she doesnt think she deserves it and to be happy ??   Obstacles are thrown in the way, one thing after another jeopardizes her job, an attraction mabye, not such perfect timing?  Ariel needs her job, to survive, not to make a situation more difficult than it needs to be. Will love find its way ?

Well, I must say this cover is absolutely gorgeous, ** The perfect Rose ** being the perfect title for this love story.
Caleb is buff, hot and incredibly handsome, any girls dream boat !!! Ariel finds herslf attracted to Caleb at first site and Caleb to Ariel's beautiful green eyes and caring personality.  This story outlines, the importance of family to someone who has never had one, love that can be attained with a little faith and time that can heal everything. Ariel is an orphan living one day at a time, dissapointed with love and no family in her life, and only after that pot at the end of the rainbow - a family to call her own.

I enjoyed this short story , filled with love, heartache, tense emotions and faith. The faith to move on , live life, love alot and enjoy what been given to you. A second chance at happiness ;)
The characters all very likeable, the plot outlined and fluent. Story line was evenly paced, chapters flowing - Being only a short read I read in one sitting I didnt find any chopping or changing or other ups and downs. I read till the very end.  Descriptions well placed and identified, letting , emotions a little restrained at times.   I didnt find that the love was over the top, or electrfying between the two main characters, Id like to have seen a little more, I dont mean sex or anything like that but I felt that Ariel was a little withdrawn with her emotions, but I assume this being due to her worries and past experiences.  Overall a  love story with that happily ever after ending. * The Pefect Rose * suiting the title pefectly. An enjoyable short read ;)

3 1/2 roses for this read !
